Thank you for the great video! Just wanted to emphasize the currency risk of the Rand: The Rand devalued massivly over the years: One US-dollar was like ZAR 3,50 in 1995 and today its like ZAR 19.
Thanks for an awesome podcast. Can you make a video explaining: 1. What endowment policies are and what the tax benefits are compared to an RA 2. You were talking investing in a different currency like usd. If I invest on easy equities using the SA account in a Satrix S&P 500 account. Is there a difference in doing that and using an S&p 500 in the USD account. Both of them tracks the same companies doesn't it? And will it make a difference as a South African investing in the one or the other? Especially if the Rand should get weaker Thanks
I have been following you channel for a while. I have been "listening" to advise for a long time. None of it really applies to me though. Life happens making it almost impossible to follow financial rules.... From one doctor to another I would love to see you review my income and expenses. I am looking towards side-hustles but seem stuck. Good doctor, not such a good business man. Let me know how I can send my detail. Would love to hear you opinion on my current "issues" and "decisions" I have to make.
Hey man. I completely understand your situation. We are taught many things in vet/med school, but nothing about finances or investing. I would gladly like to review your finances. Just pop me an email at moneymarx101@gmail.com amd I'll send you the questionnaire :)
No. The 27.5% is percentage if income. If you earn 100k per annum it will be R27500 and your tax bracket will be low thus about 10% on average tax deduction. If you earn R1m your highest marginal tax rate will be 41% but about 30% average tax. You will get more than 27.5% back. The extra donation will then be a deduction from your marginal tax rate again. Thus on R1m pa about 41%. On R100k income pa much less. See it as percentage of income. There is another south african channel called "fincology" on RUclips that discusses SA financial cases

Isn't tax on rental income only calculated after you have made a gross profit of 2million.
No , it sounds like you are mixing capital gains with rental income. These are very different
If i max out my 27.5% limit and also max out the 10% donation tax deductible limits, is my total tax deduction 37.5%? Someone please answer this.
No. The 27.5% is percentage if income. If you earn 100k per annum it will be R27500 and your tax bracket will be low thus about 10% on average tax deduction.

See it as percentage of income.
