#6 - many of the hairpins flatten out, so get out of the saddle, go up a cog or two, hold it for 5-10 seconds, then as sitting down lower the cog one or two as it steepens back up. You will gain seconds on most hairpins. Try it in a race and you will distance riders around you.

100% especially if you have yours settings avg power in 3sec blocks. you will fly out of corners and catch people way off guard

Gone up the Alpe du Zwift twice
I'm 185CM and 84.37KG and ride near the top of Cat C right at 3.1w/kg
    1st attempt - winging it - 63min 28sec
    2nd attempt with plan a week later - 57min 21sec
I used Scott Addict RC with FFWD wheels
If the Zwift Algorithm didn't hate tall people I would be a minute faster at least.

Whilst weight does affect climbing time slightly it does not make that much of a difference as raw watts also comes into play.

Yep. That is one of the things that I tried to highlight about the estimates that most sites provided - 3.2 w/kg = 60 min

I didn’t realize the way weight affects the time. My pr was a couple of years ago when I was 72 kg or so. I’m now at 66 kg and was disappointed with my last time. I figured if I rode with the same w/kg I would go faster since I weigh less. I went about 3 minutes slower. Now I know why. 😂

Very cool tips. How do you feel about doing negative splits. Starting off a little bit under target power and gradually increasing power?

For me personally - when going for hard efforts I like to do races, so I would race up the alpe. Sticking with riders who are faster who I can draft would have been faster than pacing well as a solo rider. I just find that there is so much more motivation in races. In order to do negative splits, you’ll need to know what power you can sustain for that amount of time to avoid going to east to too hard.

8:00 Did you say 40 kg?!?!?
Are you 11 years old, or only 4 feet tall?
At 40kg, you could probably be a world-class racehorse jockey!

I’m light for my age, and always have been. I am 14 years old. If you take a look at other videos, like my latest one, you can see that I am a junior.
