"Can you imagine someone walking into your living room, sitting you down and telling you that you have magical powers". I think most of us have spent a good amount of time imagining exactly that
Can’t we also argue that Harry Potter pretty much had a muggle Borns life too. Yes I know he was born to two wizard parents but he had no recollection of that. Harry pretty much had the experience of a muggle Born wizard. Not knowing why strange mysterious things happend around him, having someone from Hogwarts personally tell him he was a wizard, and last and probably most important, being raised by muggles.
Levi Anderson how is he not even close? I know he’s half blood and i even acknowledged that he has two wizard parents. I was simply stating that’s he’s had a muggle borns life. And he has.
OP isn't saying Harry is truly Muggle-born, just saying that, in essence, he might as well be. And I actually can agree, for all intents and purposes, Harry was basically a Muggle until he found out that he was a Wizard, which was probably a shock to his sense of reality considering the Dursley's told him his entire life with them that "Magic doesn't exist" and all that jazz. Though I'm sure it wasn't too hard for him to accept since it perfectly explained all the weird phenomena that happened, and also was his best chance at getting away from those wretched Dursley's, lol.
Hermione is the perfect example of the fact that hard work can turn you into one of the best (even if you once lacked some of the privileges and help others had) great video as always!
That's why I like the main three, they're all examples of those without privilege rising up and becoming great wizards. Harry was an orphan who was practically a muggle born since he never learnt about magic. Ron was a poor wizard who had to wear hand-me-downs, and although he had magical experience, he lacked the equipment to exceed. And hermione, well, her example was explained pretty well in this video!
I do prefer book Hermione over her film counterpart. She's not a perfect person. While she is knowledgeable in nearly every subject taught in Hogwarts, we do see her struggle at points in the books. Like in Philosopher's Stone where she momentarily forgets the fact she was a witch when caught in the Devil's Snare. Ron has to remind her of her powers. She knew what to do deep down, but her panic overcame her. This is why I hate the film's Hermione. She's portrayed as perfect, always knowing what to do and has a solution at her fingertips. Book Hermione on the other hand isn't perfect by any means, but she is still a brilliant witch. I think being friends with Harry and Ron did help her a great deal.
@niknikky That's what the OP is saying. The devil's snare scene was in both the book and the film, but the OP prefers the book version for reasons he/she/they stated.😊
This video brought something to mind actually... Hermione, Harry, Lily Potter and other muggle-born or muggle-raised children would definately have attended Primary school prior to their 11th birthday in which they learnt basic literary, mathematical, etc skills. Does the wizarding world have institutions like this for their children, and if not, how did they learn to read and write before attending Hogwarts?
They are home schooled. People like Malfoy may have been schooled alongside other pureblood families with a skilled teacher. I imagine Draco, Crabbe, Goyle, and Theodore Nott were all home schooled together. The Weasley's we're home schooled by Molly. Ron being the age he was had the most cross over in home schooling, hence his bad study skills. Ginny had a year alone. But Ron being so close in age to Fred and George would have had the hardest time. Percy would have had a few years with them but already had some skills in place.
It would be interesting to know if wizarding families are allowed to send their kids to Muggle schools at all. I imagine that only few of them would want to but it's an interesting question. My guess is that the Ministry strongly advises or even obliges them to homeschool so their kids don't risk breaking the International Statute of Secrecy at school. They could accidentally do magic in class or forget their parents' warnings and use magic to impress other kids, win at games or get better marks. They would have a difficult time writing about their holidays in essays or talking about their home life in class without mentioning magic and they wouldn't be allowed to invite their classmates to play at their house. I imagine there are small homeschool groups between families as well as paid homeschool tutors. Not all parents would be able to or want to homeschool their children themselves. And I guess some more progressive parents would choose to unschool their kids and just go with the flow until the age of eleven. By that age, most children would intrinsically want to learn to read and write after all. And if not, they would be told what skills are required at Hogwarts and I'm sure they would then be very dedicated to learning them. Of course, there are always some families who neglect their children's education. In the HP books, we are told that Crabbe and Goyle (or was it just one of them?) are almost illiterate. Even Aberforth Dumbledore was illiterate, according to his brother, which I expect that was due to the difficult circumstances he grew up in, with his father in prison and his sister an obscurial, under the constant threat of her being discovered by the Ministry.
OMG Hermione reading Matilda. Can you imagine her being like many kids who wished they could do as Matilda did. But actually being able to do something. But understanding it might not be something she should share publicly.
Another thing that helped Hermione was the fact that her birthday was on September 19th meaning she had to wait a whole year before going to Hogwarts After receiving her letter.
@Bellatrix Lestrange That is a common misconception. The letters are not sent out on a child's 11th birthday; Harry started receiving his Hogwarts letters about a week before that. In fact, his birthday *was the deadline* for replying to the invitation. No way Hogwarts would wait until the literal last minute.
@@Devlinator61116 Yes she went to hogwarts when she was turning 12 but she received her letter when she was 11. So she still had a wait a whole year before she could go to hogwarts, Because she could not intend hogwart until she was 11.
@@Dalneisha *checks notes* Umm... yeah... July comes before September on the calendar. Hermione would have received her letter when she was eleven, arrived at school when she was eleven, and then, a few weeks later, turned twelve.
My art teacher back in college told me that talent was 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. A natural gift for something will only take u so far. You have to put in the work to develop your talent.
"Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times. When one only remembers to turn on the light." Albus Dumbledore I personally think Hermione embraced this quote greatly because of her preparation for the magical world. I don't I can handle being left in the dark if it were me in that situation.
I think that the muggle parents that initially refuse to send their kids to Hogwarts are reminded of random acts of magic their kids do. And that their kids will continue to unconsciously do them and they can get dangerous. So they ultimately agree so that their kids can learn to control their magic.
Yes, and maybe the kids are even offered an arrangement where they come to Hogwarts without their parents' consent. It would be interesting to see how such a scenario would play out.
Hermione's birthday was in September. Kids usually get their Hogwarts letter at their 11th birthday. So if she got her letter in 1990, she had nearly a whole year to study, read, and think. Even if they waited to January or even May, she had months more than others to read.
The children get their letters *when they are 11* not specifically *on their 11th birthday.* Hermoine turned 12 near the beginning of term. We actually know, for a fact, that Hogwarts waits until July to send out the invitations because that's when Harry gets his. If you read the Philosopher's Stone you would know that A: Harry starts getting his letters about one week before his birthday and B: That the *deadline* for responding is July 31th. Dumbledore / McGonagall sent Hagrid because they had run out of time.
I would assume that Muggle parents cannot refuse to let their children attend Hogwarts. Hagrid had to force the Dursleys to let Harry attend Hogwarts, and the same likely applies to muggle born children.
Jacob Taber This would seem likely as suppressing their magic would tend to create an Obscurius. I would imagine their memories would be modified to forget they ever had their child and the child would be placed into another home, perhaps with their own memories also modified.
Jacob Taber The Dursleys knew about Harry's abilities and worked to keep Harry ignorant of them. Profs. McGonagall and Dumbledore knew; Prof McGonagall expected resistance.
there is a mention of before Hogwarts a witch tutoring muggle borns so maybe there are still some wizards who go to muggle born homes and tutor them, probably not as extensively as if they were at Hogwarts as the young witch or wizard would probably be going to a muggle school too if their parents didn't want them to go to Hogwarts but they would learn enough magic to control their powers and not make an obscurial
I seriously doubt that. Harry was a special case. For his own safety, and eventually the safety of the entire wizarding world, Harry NEEDED an adequate magical education and the protection that Dumbledore and Hogwarts offered. Forcibly removing children from their parents would really damage their relationship with the muggle world, and likely be seen as cruel by a large part of the wizarding world as well. Although most muggles are unaware of magic unless they are related to a witch or wizard, you find out in the sixth book that the Prime Minister of the muggle world not only knows of the wizarding world, but occasionally communicates with their Prime Minister. The magic Prime Minister lets the muggle Prime Minister know when there is an event large enough to affect or harm muggles on a large scale. In order to protect the secret of magic, and better shield the muggles from negative magic, it's necessary to maintan a civil relationship with the two worlds, and ripping children from parents would definitely fuck that up.
I'm pretty certain that Hermione said on the hogwarts express that she was hoping to be put in Gryffindor because it was the house of Dumbledore. And then she processed to say that she wouldn't mind being in ravenclaw either.
There’s a theory saying that Roald Dahl’s Matilda Wormwood and Hermione Granger are the same person. Let me explain: Matilda Hermione Wormwood does magic while under stress at Miss Trunchbull’s school. When she was adopted by Miss Honey, in order 2 escape her family’s criminal past, Matilda renamed herself Hermione Jean Honey and became a stickler 4 the rules. Miss Honey went 2 a night school 4 dentists and met a fellow older learner, Mr Granger. They fell in love and married. Soon after, a witch by the name of Professor Minerva McGonagall arrived and the rest is the Harry Potter franchise.
Another theory states that Matilda is the story of Hermione if she was raised by the Dursleys. Mara Wilson, the actress who played Matilda, joined in, saying that Matilda would be split between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw b4 going to Gryffindor.
In my head, Mary Poppins and Matilda are witches in the Harry Potter world. But aren't related to any characters, Matilda was 6 in 1988 so she could've attended hogwarts and been in Ginny's year or the year below.
Lol! Electronic devices don’t work at Hogwarts? Can you imagine what the new generation of muggle borns would think about not being aloud their smartphones!? 😱😂😋 xoxo
KT NI Perhaps very low votage devices do work at hogwarts but not the 110 to 220 volt houshold appliances. If that is the case Android and smartphone devices could be a problem as they would attempt to contact the internet. The solution would be to have some squib electrical engineers set up a wifi transmitter just off the grounds for the Androids, iphones, ipads and so forth. To the outside world this transmitter would be in nearby in nearby Muggle Dufftown.
There's some things I've always wondered about the wizarding world that I hope you'll cover some day; all relating to wands. How are wands actually made? Could a wand be made without a wand to begin with? How was Olivander's craft superior over other wand makers (aside from better ingredients)? And lastly, what are some notable wand makers before Olivander?
Their would be Ollivandar's ancestors before him. On the Content there was Gregor Gregorivich. There were some four wand makers here in the States. I'm sure there were many minor and unscrupulus wandmakers catering to wizards expelled from a school of magic, convicted of crimes or who simply wanted a wand with no ministry trace. Other clients would be wizards that were too poor to buy an Ollivandar or Gregoravich wand.
A wand consists of wood of some type around a core containing a substance from a magical creature such as a Unicorn, hair, dragon heartstring, Phoenix feather and so forth. If a hole is bored into the handle of a broomstick and a magical substance is put in it makes a giant wand. Anyone could make one with the right ingredients. However for quality you want a wand from Ollivandar of other reputable wand maker. Before wands wizards used wands they had magical staves which were probably of the same or similar construction. Magical staves are rare today Mad Eye had one. The the GoF movie the Durmstrang marching band appeared to have them (or sticks with pyrophoric cores.)
I always wondered how Olivander could have just made a new wand for Luna and send it to her. What if the wand didn't wish to choose her and perform weakly for her?
I thought that Hermione knew the Hogwarts houses but not how they were sorted. She wanted to be in Gryffindor but said she wouldn’t mind Ravenclaw either.
Make Make It might destroy the horcrux. There are several tools powerful enough destroy a horcrux, Griffindor's sword was just the most convenient Dumbledore had access to.
Your Mom's Creepy Uncle She is the MAIN female character with one of the most developed characters in the series and has an good backstory she is an extremely remarkable character...
Hermione Granger quotes from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, The Journey from Platform Nine and Three-Quarters, pages 79 and 79 through 80 of the british paperback respectively: "Nobody in my family's magic at all, it was ever such a surprise when I got my letter (...)." "Do either of you know what house you'll be in? I've been asking around and I hope I'm in Gryffindor, it sounds by far the best, I hear Dumbledore himself was one, but I suppose Ravenclaw wouldn't bee too bad ... (...)" I understand that as Hermione (and by extension her parents) being informed via "the" Hogwarts letter that she's a witch. But of course it is possible that she got it earlier and/or someone from the school, possibly Professor McGonagall, visited her and her parents after they had gotten "the" letter to educate them on the wizarding world. Also it is possible that Hermione found out about the Hogwarts houses from a book and/or from someone from the school and that she did set her heart on getting into Ravenclaw. But during her first Hogwarts Express ride she definitely does hope to get into Gryffindor, after having asked around.
+Sean Gere I don't remember AT ALL what you could possibly be talking about. I really need to read those books again. Or ... You tell me the whole story in a reply to this comment. Deal? Siriusly, though. I might give into the temptation to go look for the uber-long summaries of all the chapters of all the books and just read these. I read the chapter summaries of the sixth book shortly before the seventh book came out since I couldn't and didn't want to re-read the sixth book in its entirety.
Marie Lastname you should read book 6 in its entirety. But here goes. When Slughorn first meets Hermione in the first potions class, Slughorn has different potions pre-made and asks if anyone knows what this and that potion is. As always Hermione answers all of them correctly. Slughorn being completely surprised by this he asks her name and she replied with Hermione Granger, and he asks her if she is related to Hector Dagworth-Granger the founder of the Most Extraordinary Society of Potioneers. She says she doesn't think so as she's muggleborn. But as Hector Dagworth-Granger was from the past it is possible that between his time and her's there could be a squib that links them. This hasn't been proven but JKR doesn't normally through things like that out for no reason.
+Sean Gere To be honest I could imagine that she just wrote that to make Hermione mention to Slughorn she's muggleborn. And that - should Rowling state that Hermione actually IS related to that other Granger - she would do decide that now and not when she wrote the part.
This is literally one of my fav channels ever 😍/* I think on top of her being wicked smart she had the right state of mind and drive that helped her adjust to the wizarding world
@@darthportus yeah true i mean there really isn´t any other way to learn to controle their powers is there? btw why did they never send a teacher to harry to explain to everything about the magical world? sure he is a half-blood but he was as clueless as any other muggleborn after all he was pretty much raised as a muggle.
I feel like Hermione knew so much about Hogwarts school because she read and re-read the Hogwarts a history and also she found books on spells and wand movements to go with them
I imagine that Hogwarts - A History was the first book she ever read about the magical world and therefore her favourite. I think she reread it even during their "camping trip" in the seventh book. :)
I think what really prepared her the most were some of her most clear abilities. She's extremely good at taking in and retaining information, she's also very non-judgemental of new things and people which would make the transition easier on her. Plus, she's a damn smart person, so I don't think she was ever in any real danger. She's also highly independent and knows how to make her own way if she cannot find one. Hermione is truly one of my favourite fictional characters, and a great rolemodel for both women and men. Slay, Hermione! Slay 'em to filth!
I just finished my first time reading through the series and I'm sad,and this is making me want to reread it.Also is it just me or does anyone else miss the old humble J.K Rowling who wrote because she was passionate about her books and not because she let fame get to her.I don't like any of the new books after the Harry potter series anything you read from her now you can tell is ingenuine. And I hate the changes she made once the last book was done she started dating all these things that changed the story completely and everything she wrote when she was passionate and it's sad because she was such a talented writer and amazing person.I hope that one day she goes back to her old passionate writing ways and her old self.I love your videos, you make me think of things I never even thought of thinking about but now constantly do 😂😂😂
I am on a mega-binge on this channel ! and after all those videos , it hits me now ! The gentleman narating this channel , sound like a british Dante Basco ( ZuKo from Avatar the last airbender ) now i cannot unhear it !
Since they were with her few times in Daigon allay , I think her parentes knew and exapeted her true idintedy ................ I think part of being so smart is having big imagenation and positive enargy
Hermione Granger is my upmost favourite character! She is incredibly hardworking, intellectual, organized and she really helped Harry and Ron throughout the Franchise!
Hermione also possesses a great sense of herself as a person. She drew her greatest strength from that. Another of her strengths that helped her succeed, was when she realized that life does not follow a set of rules, and cannot be come by with "books and cleverness" alone. She had the flexibility to understand that life and living becomes the best teacher of all.
A real life Hogwarts would probably have a specific class for muggle borns, to teach them about the wizarding world. There would be so much for them to learn. I'm also surprised Rowling never mentioned a "magical home-economics" class to teach the magical forms of things like cooking and cleaning that the magical-raised kids would just know as part of life.
If I remember correctly, in book one, Hermione did talk about (on the train?) the houses, though she didn't know the ceremony. I believe she said she would love to be either Ravenclaw or Gryffindor :) (But my memory might be wrong)
New subscriber!!!!! And i really love these videos. And how you put the Lilly's theme background, you just nailed it. The music ads extra wow to these videos!
I don't really think she had friends before Hogwarts just classmates.I want to know her feats of accidental magic who came to her and took her and her parents to diagon alley the first time
I think you're right. She probably thought things would be different, in the wizarding world, and studied like anything (which she would have anyway, regardless) so that she'd be accepted by her peers (finally). *That* would be why she spent literally hours crying in the loo (and missing lessons!), because it was the final blow - can you imagine it? Especially at that age. She didn't have her parents there to explain it away with "they're just jealous", and she couldn't use the excuse of "it's because weird stuff always happens around me" anymore.
Molly Weasley has a radio she listen to, in book 4 the Weird Sisters are a rock band therefore using electric guitars and in the movie #8 theres a radio transmitter in the Room of Requirement. So electronics arent necessarily unable to work at Hogwarts
+Harry Potter Folklore hermione was very ahead of others. she is the know it all, because she's very gifted. you can study for an entire day, but if you are not as gifted as her, you will not be able to achieve her outcomes
I would find it really interesting to know how Muggle and Magic cultures influence each other in the families of Muggleborns and how this is regulated by the Ministry. For example: - Do the parents of Muggleborns buy magical objects in Diagon Alley and keep them in their house? Surely, as long as their child lives with them they can't avoid to have some magical things in the house, like sneakoscopes, omnioculars, etc. What about when their child moves out? Are they allowed to keep magical things like that and use them? - How many people in the family are allowed to know about magic? Only the primary caregivers/members of the household? What about grandparents, aunts and uncles, godparents, stepfamilies? I imagine that this would be decided individually and the child's and parents' opinions would be taken into account. If you see your grandparents only once a year, it would be a different case than if they lived next door. - How far do Muggle parents, siblings or partners get introduced into the magical world? Do they sometimes make friends with witches or wizards they know through their magical child, sibling or partner? Or is it usually the other way around, i.e. the magical child gets "adopted" by the wizarding world? I would guess the latter is what happens in most cases. Hermione spends most of her holidays in the wizarding world instead of with her parents. Lily practically disappeared into the magical world after Hogwarts, marrying James and moving to Godric's Hollow. Ted Tonks seems to have done something similar, since Tonks reveals that she doesn't know a lot about Muggles in the fifth book, although her father is muggle born. It must be hard for those poor Muggle parents who lose their children to a world they themselves have only limited access to. I'm thinking of the Creeveys who sent their two sons to Hogwarts and lost both of them in the battle against Voldemort... but even those who don't die will practically be gone from the Muggle world as soon as they start Hogwarts.
I feel you covered most of the important details needed for muggles to prepare for joining the wizarding world. In regards to Hermoine, her making friends with Harry and Ron in their 1st year, helped ease her anxiety and gave her someone to confide in, seeing that Harry was raised as a muggle, and Ron's dad displayed an eager curiousity about all things muggles. This gave her 2 kindred spirits to help her adjust to life at Hogwarts.
Hermione may have been releived to know there was a place for someone like her, with her special abilities. She certainly loved all the new topics to study.
My guess is if a parent does not want there child to go to Hogwarts, when they are older and want to learn magic they will use Kwikspell or something similar.
1:25 she's reading Matilda, I just recently decided that I want a fanfic where Matilda discovers she's a witch and is encouraged by her new mom Ms. Honey to attend either Ilvermony or Hogwarts... SOMEONE HAND ME A PEN AND PAPER!! 😂😂😂
If parents of muggleborns refuse to send their children to Hogwarts, there is probably a Muggleborn Hogwarts Rejection Resolution Committee to deal with it.
On the train in "Philosopher's Stone" Hermione says that she wants to be in Gryffindor, so she must have known something about houses before coming to Hogwarts. It would be odd if "Hogwarts: A History" didn't explain what the different houses meant.
Lily Potter’s situation wasn’t exactly like Hermione’s. Hermione was far braver and self studied a lot of things. You have to remember Severus Snape filled in Lily about the Wizarding world, and she even had him as a friend in her early school days. Hermione didn’t have friends until a few months in and she only then became friends with Harry and Ron.
It always blew my mind how lazy harry seemed in comparison to hermione. he basically had nothing to do at home but reading books about magic. he always wanted to return to the magical world asap and I think it would be a good way to dive into the world earlier by reading about it. he still had no idea about anything haha
Dean, love the Sony Walkman reference at 4:00, brought back memories. I wonder if Minerva gave Hermione a wand to practice with, hmmm, that would mean that the Professor would have made several visits to the Granger home prior to term starting.
Awesome vedio ... nice work Hermione is incredible ... she is my 2nd favourite character Where are the 6 horrid muggles or maybe prejudiced purebloods who disliked this video
Awsome video! Im a Harry Potter fanatic and I love your channel :) I have thought alot of if a muggle parent has said no and what would have happened after. So a video about that could be cool! :)
No. That's only when they go through horrible abuse like Ariana Dumbledore did when those Muggle lads attacked her because they got scared of her doing magic. Had the Dursleys treated him worse than they did Harry could have become an Obscurial.
An Obscurial is a witch or wizard who suppresses their magic because of abuse and it explodes out of them when they can't control it anymore. It was a concept introduced in the first Fantastic Beasts film and people have theorised that Ariana became an Obscurial because of what the Muggle boys did to her and the fact that she unintentionally killed her mother Kendra during a burst of magic.
In the half blood prince the movie, 19:00 minutes in you can see at the chokes shop when those kids are getting the popcorn type stuff. Those kids looked just like albus severous potter and his little sister in the deathly Hallows part 2, the movie
Hagrid happens to parents who refuse to let thier child go to Hogwarts. There is one good point if hagrid bursts through your wall. You will get an extra open door without paying any money. You also get threatened to be turned into a pig if you do not allow your child to go to Hogwarts
I'm sure someone can help me with this, but I always imagined that Hermione was probably allowed to try a few simple spells at Ollivander's once she got her wand. It seems like there is some magic that happens once you receive a wand and the Ministry, which doesn't allow underaged magic outside of Hogwarts, must allow it to happen at Ollivander's because of the nature of selecting a wand for the first time. Can someone help me with this? Am I correct? Did Harry Potter Folklore have a video on it that I missed?
I don't think that Harry Potter Folklore made a video on it. But I could be totally wrong. I assume that 'the underage magic outside of school' rule applies to whenever they start school. Because most can't control there magic yet before school starts, and to punish them for it seems ridiculous, especially with muggle-borns who don't even know what magic is. So I think she practised at least a little before school started.
Sorry for 'title' popping up on the screen at 4:08, lack of concentration..sorry everyone..

Micmacs homeschooling
Actually yeah like I know they went to regular school or home school before age 11 but after do they not learn like high school/middle school stuff?
"'I've been asking around, and I hope I'm in Gryffindor, it sounds by far the best. Though I don't suppose Ravenclaw would be too bad.'"
"I hope I'm in Gryffindor, it sounds by far the best" -_-
OMG Hermione reading Matilda.
Wait why’s that? Wasn’t she 11 when she got her letter?
@Bellatrix Lestrange That is a common misconception. The letters are not sent out on a child's 11th birthday; Harry started receiving his Hogwarts letters about a week before that. In fact, his birthday *was the deadline* for replying to the invitation. No way Hogwarts would wait until the literal last minute.
She got her letter in July and started attending in September like every other student. Her *12th* birthday was at the begining of the year.
When one only remembers to turn on the light." Albus Dumbledore
I personally think Hermione embraced this quote greatly because of her preparation for the magical world. I don't I can handle being left in the dark if it were me in that situation.
Since Dumbledore never said this (in the books), Hermione cannot have embraced this saying of Dumbledore. :)
pannonia77 I know but it was my favorite quote from the movie and I think the book should have said it to.
Well, this quote sounds more like Paolo Coelho than Dumbledore. But "de gustibus non est disputandum".
the illuminator pun be like!
It would be interesting to see how such a scenario would play out.
you saying at the end of every video “have a great day” is one of the most comforting things about your videos
The reason being harry your The choosen one
Ale Liebmann I think that she did!

@Just Amelia Pretty sure they're talking about the book
@Just Amelia 🤡
There’s a theory saying that Roald Dahl’s Matilda Wormwood and Hermione Granger are the same person. Let me explain:
Matilda Hermione Wormwood does magic while under stress at Miss Trunchbull’s school.
That would make for a good crossover idea.
I love both books

Carlos Wilson no low voltage don't work either as it is stated that a watch harry had on him did not function when the train got closer to hogsmeade
KT NI They could do magic, so they likely wouldn’t be bored.
imagine using computers for homework your entire life than learning that you will have to type all assignments BY HAND for now on.
KT NI they’d ask the Ravenclaws to do a spell for it
There's some things I've always wondered about the wizarding world that I hope you'll cover some day; all relating to wands.
AURAequine, I need to know that too!
What happens when you throw a horcrux in the veil
Make Make, Ok, this is a brilliant question!
I wonder the same thing
Yes would love to see that
Make Make. It would get destroyed?
Make Make
It might destroy the horcrux. There are several tools powerful enough destroy a horcrux, Griffindor's sword was just the most convenient Dumbledore had access to.
i always get chills when listening to lily's theme, am i the only one?
Hermione Granger is the most remarkable character!
+TheB29Bomber I was comparing what Dean said to what's written in the book.
I still think Slughorn was right that Hermione is a descendent of Hector Dagworth-Granger.
This is literally one of my fav channels ever 😍/*
I think on top of her being wicked smart she had the right state of mind and drive that helped her adjust to the wizarding world
This was great! I would love to see a video about what you think happens when I muggle parent refuses to let there child go to Hogwarts!
Well, Dursleys tried and it didnt help :-) In this world (luckily) it is only a child who makes a final decision, not his parents.
@@Bretislavka Well the visiting wizard will explain the parents that untrained wizard/witch is danger to themsleves and their surrondings.
Everyone after reading Harry Potter:
WHERE IS ME HOGWARTS LETTER
so true
I feel like Hermione knew so much about Hogwarts school because she read and re-read the Hogwarts a history and also she found books on spells and wand movements to go with them
I imagine that Hogwarts - A History was the first book she ever read about the magical world and therefore her favourite. I think she reread it even during their "camping trip" in the seventh book. :)
Awesome video! Your videos always make me think and smile 😃
Georgia’s Wizarding world
A lot of nice drawings and music. I like it.
She is pretty judgmental actually
I read the Harry Potter series at least 2 times a year and you still think up things I never thought twice about
I love it
The one thing she wasn't ready for: the Sorting Hat
"I'm telling you, it's spooky. She knows more about you than you do." "Who doesn't?"

Hermione Granger is my upmost favourite character! She is incredibly hardworking, intellectual, organized and she really helped Harry and Ron throughout the Franchise!
Great video Dean!
The illustrations are amazing! Great work!
Props to her parents for accepting there daughter :)
I love your videos a lot! Keep up the good work.
At 5:38 in the fourth book Dumbledors army she even says that the hat considered putting her in raven claw
I'm still waiting for my hogwarts letter. (I am a major HP fan).
Brilliant.
Hermione seems like she'd send letters to Hogwarts to ask about things she didn't quite understand.
"''Plenty of people come from Muggle families, and they learn quick enough.'"
+Harry Potter Folklore hermione was very ahead of others. she is the know it all, because she's very gifted. you can study for an entire day, but if you are not as gifted as her, you will not be able to achieve her outcomes
I'd have to say her Wand helped a good deal
My mind is blown every time I watch your videos!!!
I would find it really interesting to know how Muggle and Magic cultures influence each other in the families of Muggleborns and how this is regulated by the Ministry.
For example:
- Do the parents of Muggleborns buy magical objects in Diagon Alley and keep them in their house?
Another great video. Your videos are so well researched and I love them. This is one of my favorite channels. TY.
Can you do " Do students of Hogwarts get held back?"
I love your videos so much it made me really know the life of each character!! 😀❤️
My guess is if a parent does not want there child to go to Hogwarts, when they are older and want to learn magic they will use Kwikspell or something similar.

Hermione's barette is the deathly hallows' symbol.
On the train in "Philosopher's Stone" Hermione says that she wants to be in Gryffindor, so she must have known something about houses before coming to Hogwarts. It would be odd if "Hogwarts: A History" didn't explain what the different houses meant.
I believe the soul of Lilly went into Hermione so his mom could help him in great need

I think you nailed it! Great video!

Awsome video! Im a Harry Potter fanatic and I love your channel :) I have thought alot of if a muggle parent has said no and what would have happened after. So a video about that could be cool! :)
If a muggle born’s parents decline to send them to Hogwarts is it possible that the child could turn into an oculus?
Erin Kika obscurus and yes that happens
Erin Kika oculus?
No. That's only when they go through horrible abuse like Ariana Dumbledore did when those Muggle lads attacked her because they got scared of her doing magic. Had the Dursleys treated him worse than they did Harry could have become an Obscurial.
@@Xehanort10 Obscurial?

I really enjoyed this one, thanks mate
