Something I really love about 40k is the clashes of styles you get, massive mechanised walkers adorned in armour like medieval knights, animalistic species equipped with dangerously advanced technology, insanely pious priests who worship technology, and so many others. So to my mind these conversions are absolutely spot on with the themes of everything else. Another awesome Peachy kitbash, love it!
All this is in Age of Sigmar too, and even more: there are no primarchs and the Horus Heresy, which significantly reduce the values you are talking about.
Love the feudal world vibes. Shame you didn't do an actual Motorbiker Knight Peachy model though, maybe the Atalan Jackals kit would be great for that?
Thats actually a very clever kitbashing idea, especially with the artillery. I could see some lore where there is a planet within a storm rift similar to the Tau where it goes unseen and untouched. Just a planet far behind in technology and uses mix of mediveal and early WW1 aesthetic with obvious 40k tech and this soldier seems perfect. They arbites would really suit this theme
i knew when i saw the cities of sigmar they were perfect for making a feudal/medieval guard regiment and now i know i NEED them, as i already have a regiment just like them.
I think it would be cool if they were the guard faction that fights alongside and in the same sector/planet/place as the custom Space Marine chapter you painted for Leviathan, just some nice Painting Phase 40k universe lore fun I think
Nice! could paint the metal armour standard sort of guard flak armour colours and it would work as well. Only the chainmail is obvious medieval armour.
I was actually thinking of doing this for my Lion guard for my dark angels army. Seeing that it works so well actually gives me a lot of hope for doing that.

Well, I support this action. Generally. Many years ago I bought a lot of fantasy orcs and goblins to rework them for my 40k Orks Horde. But then Age of Sigmar appeared and won my heart; on the contrary, I took out even more bits (for example, bows and quivers) to create an army of Greenskins in Age of Sigmar. Then Games Workshop killed the Greenskins faction. You say: use them for "old world". And you will be wrong! I was raised with 40k, and was in love with Age of Sigmar. There is no place in my heart for such commercial products as the Horus Heresy and the Old World. So the Greenskin Orruks with all the archers will have to be converted into Feral Orks again. There is no other way.

Am wondering if painting “halved” marines would be easier with Grey Seer…. 🤔 I usually prime black., and where I think I want to go is Dark Reaper (regular paint) and Karandras or Striking Scorpion (contrast) for the 2 halves 🤔 it would skip painting the green side Grey seer first…

The minute I got my Cities of Sigmar set I immediately knew they would be an excellent kitbash companion for Guardsmen. I’m keeping them for followers and NPCs for Five Leagues from the Borderlands though on a Fantasy binge since consuming media like Baldur’s Gate 3, Darkest Dungeon, Battle Brothers, The Black Company and Castlevania.
I've already got converted indigan praefects and savlar chem dogs to go along with my death korps of kreig so I haven't decided if I want to do a feudal guard world regiment as well, but it's tempting

I have a question in new to Warhammer and want to make a salamander successor chapter that use jump packs swords and pistol but I want the flaw to be their skin and eyes don't turn black and red so most can't survive on nocturne for long periods of time is that something that would be ok I want to keep the humanity of the salamanders but that's about it

I know you did one guy before but as a xenos only player they are the only imperials i would be interested/happy owning an army of so i am asking for more please, i think you owe me that after almost making me ruin my laptop with juice/spit.

I understand the inspiration, but the red didn’t quit land for me. This may be a colour blindness thing, but… Looking at the test model, at least adding red on the mask might have helped more, but the piping just isn’t distinct enough to my eyes.
That’s cool, I’m a big Napoleonic fan so the inspiration is drawn from French line infantry, not everyone’s cup of tea for sure, if I had a feather or plume I would’ve certainly painted that red too.
@@thepaintingphase remembered the word I couldn't remember yestereday - value. The value of the red and blue are too close to my (admittedly colour vision impaired) eyes. A stronger shadow between them or pushing one of them a bit brighter might have helped distinguish the colours more. (At least as I see the model.) I definitely understood the Napoleonic roots of the colour scheme - so no criticism of the colour scheme concept. Knowing your love for Napoleonics the scheme is spot on in concept. (And could be right in exectution as I don't trust my vision with red in this situation.)
How well do the regular "gun holding" cadian arms fit on the AoS bodies? That's really the big question for me. I love the idea but If I have to scraoe off or greenstuff all these guys and gals then that's not really worth it for me. Most of the models shown here are holding their guns in one hand. So what about the majority of rifles that are held in both hands? Do they fit?

True, they I’d have some units like trench raiders wear chaimail in WW1
If you read the ak interactiv skin painting book, they mostly use cork as a base color for all the skins in the book

Mostly they fitted okay, the portly dudes were a bit more fiddly, so I used arms that didn’t need to connect
