Loved it! I would say, though, that for a full game of infinity, you only have to paint maybe 15 minis max(and not more than 3 of the same model). Not the 40 or 50 you need for 40k. The concept of army painting is different, and you can take a little extra time on each mini
Nice comparison! I always wonder about Infinity minis, they seem more slender and well proportioned than the "cartoony" GW standard. By the way: there's a smudge of green on the inside of the knife of the Infinity mini; you may want to fix that :)
Great stuff as always 😊 If you get the newer infinety kits they are mostly resin and co-cast, not that the modern pewter isnt pretty nice compared to the stuff from when we where kids
Having started with early WH40K 's minis in late "80s, I don't have any prejudice against metals , also if the new plastic ones are really fantastic. Infinity here in Italy is difficult to find, except that with mail orders. I hope that one day they'll start to make plastic boxed sets, as NorthStar or WGA, because their designs are really good.
Speaking as a long time fan of Infinity miniatures I can confirm that current generation miniatures are very easy to assemble for metal miniatures. Can also confirm ten years ago they absolutely were not for the faint hearted. As for varnishing, I have found that even plastic miniatures suffer from chipping although they do so in different ways. And the type of plastic makes a big difference. GW's HIPS miniatures tend to get very good primer adhesion but if you handle the model too much the paint wears off on hard edges (like space marine armour plates). Resin is similar to HIPS whereas I have had issues with PVC plastic with paint falling if you so much as look at the model funny.
I like metal models even given the clean up issues as I like the weight of moving them on a table. That said the only thing that keeps me away from games like infinity is there’s no stores close to me where people play regularly. Maybe if I find a local group I might consider looking into the game.
Infinity has probably the best metal minis on the market, they assemble really well - so long as you're using N3 sculpts and onwards, but by now I doubt you can even buy any of the older traditional sculpts they had. Painting them is likewise great fun, they really like the more glaze/contrast/wash heavy approach than traditional layering, so if you're primed for that, you'll love the process. As for the side by side, it's actually a point to GW's credit - their recent sculpts Primaris and onwards have been very close to proper human proportions and therefore looks rather good besides Infinity stuff. Computer assisted design really helps refining the proportions and scale!
Ariadna has murder wolves (Antipodes), but did you hear that Haqqislam has the gorgeous, lovely, oh so amazing MURDER SCORPION many affectionately refer to as "Maggie" (Maghariba Guard). I may be slightly biased towards Haqqislam as a faction, since I absolutely LOVE my shenanigans. Holo-projectors (which of the three is the real one? Is that an unprotected light infantry commander, or is it really a heavily armed special forces guy with the biggest shotgun money can buy? And then we have the impersonators. Don't mind Bob, he's totally fine, even though he's walking a tad funny, and is clumsy with those smoke grenades...) Light infantry shenanigans are fun.
I really like the color scheme of the guard! Can I ask you what differences you may have found between Nuln Oli and Black Night as a wash? I would like to try the one from the ak
Do keep in mind that depending of how old your Infinity models are, they might have 5% lead in them Just saying. i know they've moved away from lead, but my LGS had almost nothing but the infinity miniatures with lead in them. Not what i'd enjoy scraping and filling away mold lines on.

Nice comparison! I always wonder about Infinity minis, they seem more slender and well proportioned than the "cartoony" GW standard. By the way: there's a smudge of green on the inside of the knife of the Infinity mini; you may want to fix that :)
Great stuff as always 😊
If you get the newer infinety kits they are mostly resin and co-cast, not that the modern pewter isnt pretty nice compared to the stuff from when we where kids
I loved the video, I hope you do more Infinity. Specially on how to do the classic Infinity non metallic guns.
I'm a big fan of Infinity, but just really don't like metal models :( Excited to see what they do with their fantasy game later this year!
Cool thing with infinity minis and tournaments as long as it’s the same size of models silhouette you can proxy anything as anything
You should see Dog Warrios from Ariadna. A class sculpts!
You make it look so easy :) 😀Nice work Peachy!
Nice minis Peachy! what brushes were you using?
Artis opus M1, M2 and M00 for a few smaller details……maybe a drybrush too I can’t remember we filmed this in October lol
@@thepaintingphase Thanks, that's helpful though :) as I wanna try out Artis Opus
Infinity's newer models are a breeze, but some of the older figures in the range are an assembly nightmare.
I like metal models even given the clean up issues as I like the weight of moving them on a table.
That said the only thing that keeps me away from games like infinity is there’s no stores close to me where people play regularly. Maybe if I find a local group I might consider looking into the game.
Apples and Rutabagas. Both looks great! I love Infinity, just not the name.
I am mildly terrified of a metal mini I have. It is an Ork Maw Crusher and the only way to build is pinning.
Great idea for a video.
Peachy : paint the rim black!!!!
Great video gents
Might be a bit of a weird request but what mic settings/programmes do you use to get peaches voice so luxurious?
Do keep in mind that depending of how old your Infinity models are, they might have 5% lead in them
Just saying.
i know they've moved away from lead, but my LGS had almost nothing but the infinity miniatures with lead in them.
Not what i'd enjoy scraping and filling away mold lines on.
Everything you said about plastic/metal models, 100% agreeable.
Infinity over 40k though 🤓👍
I really like the more realistic proportions of the Infinity model.
Honestly once primed I was hard pressed to tell which one was metal and which one was plastic and once painted they both looked great IMO.
Welcome to the Black side! We have biscuits!
Here’s a challenge for you:
Take two versions of an Infinity Morat and two versions of a W40K Ork
1) Take a Morat and an Ork and paint them RED.
2)Take a Morat and an Ork and paint them GREEN.
I think Infinity has released some plastic/resin kits recently, haven't actually built one yet but might try them out once I see a kit that I like the look of
they use Siocast, which is like resin (need superglue, not plastic glue), but it's a bit different. They only use it for larger models at the moment.
@@vocenoctum2046 oh cool, hope they do it for smaller units in the future
