Infinity is my favourite miniature wargame by far. I left 40k after discovering it. We started in a similar way with stripped down rules and slowly introduced hacking, fireteams, etc. It's a great universe and system and well worth investing some time into. The models work well with the brutalist scenery you've been building but future games will definitely need more line of sight blocking terrain. It's worth putting out that the card scenery Corvus Belli make for Infinity is great and cheap so it's not tough to fill a board

The fact you can build an army for free and research the associated skills and devices your model is equipped with seamlessly is excellent. Plus with the "sprue" you get a few free paint bottle agitators lol It is a challenge to play competitively against experienced players, when you play the full game rules it's all sorts of future conflict you haven't seen before but I really enjoyed the challenge. Much more sensible is to play against another learner or just find an opponent who will play at a simplified level. Alex is 100% right that the core of those rules can be played right off and is easy to find for yourself as you read. Phil I missed your comment in the backend jungle. I mightily enjoy them though so please never stop. All it takes is one or two folk on youtube saying "metal minis are a paint" or "games should not need more that a few pages of rules" or "custom dice a terrible" and all of a sudden half the viewers think the same thing without testing for themselves. I've enjoyed just trying to paint some Infinity and play a few games, I now know I like it and it would be very cool if more tried the same approach.
@@52Miniatures Alex, you know my mouth runneth over no matter what :0) Never worry that I'll be too quiet or even too concise! I couldn't agree more, I watch vids where paints are compared and Kimeras are dismissed as unuseable by folks who don't understand they're pure pigments to allow you to yourself make any paint colour you can imagine, that it would be pure coincidence if one of those pigments turned out to already be the colour they needed. Then they put GW paint at the top and I just sigh. With games it must be so hard to bear for the creators, all the folks being turned away by someone who's playing (and defending) a d6 with modifiers system that was out of date as a basis when fantasy Warhammer was new. A dice with an average roll of 3.5 and a maximum of 6 doesn't give you room for any mechanics to shape worthwhile distinctions reflecting future weapon systems, it was settled on to barely allow the difference between a shortbow and a long bow. This then has to give a host of special rules for tactics and individual models instead and that sells a library of essential rulebooks every few years. You go whilst I sit down and read your rulebook, then I'll go and you can make a phone call, really?? In 2024 and ten revisions of the rules? Infinity is a beautiful system, more sophisticated, yes! The model count stays down to offset this but still gives you all you want in play. instead of one, five or ten models a unit is one two or a scant few - but they play with much more flexibility and that sophistication. It's no Kill team, it's a full on ttg battle. Fewer models gives you a real chance to do these just plain superior figures justice with your painting. Painting them is a joy that has to be appreciated and they don't have to take an age as you've so ably show, these sculpts will help you. A lot is made of them being in metal, white metal was the material of decades ago when it was all we had, These are not that. It's forgotten that metal casting has it's own strengths in really crisp lines and details. you don't have to enlarge hands and heads for the plastic to be reliably pressured into. Moulds for metal ruin quickly and cost the manufacturer over and over again, Corvus Belli quality control keeps the consequences to a minimum impact by throwing those moulds out and grabbing the next one. All the benefit and no more clean up than most plastic, they work hard to enhance the connections so they stay glued, do buy a decent superglue or two part epoxy but then off you go with complete confidence. Infinity deserves a genuine look by everyone, not for everyone but you have to make sure or else you're likely missing the game of your life - and! cheaper as it is to create your army and own all the rules, you can still collect and paint 40k for your shelf! Ideal!
It's great that you're using terrain that's made specifically for Infinity by Ryan over at Brutal Cities. Infinity such a athematic game and having great minis, great terrain, all painted to a high standard really helps bring you into the action. The mechanics help keep it flowing it's why I've been putting for over 10 years, having hundreds of minis and over 10+ tables of terrain just for Infinity. 🤟
Thanks for this Alex. Great to see some Infinity models. I actually have numerous of their mini's (sadly unpainted as of yet) which I picked up because they looked cool and thought they might be good for Stargrave and 5 Parsecs from Home. I do really like the way they are scaled too. And I finally got to see a video early instead of days after you posted it. Woot! Again, thanks for all the inspiration!
Infinity miniatures are fantastic to paint - they lend themselves so well to washes and contrasts, all the fine and crisp detail really doing the work catching highlights easily as well. I speedpainted soooo many of them with pretty much your approach, it's great. Fun and deep game, loved the hell out of it when I was actively playing it - but it's by no means simple! It takes a good while to pick up all the nuance, but it feels so tactical once you do. It is very demanding, however. Not exactly the type of game to kick back and chill with, you have to be constantly engaged due to the reactions system.
Great to see Infinity getting the love it deserves from the You Tube community. I know we have the TV series coming soon but I can't help thinking that something bigger is coming soon.
Thanks Alex. I've been aware of Infinity for a while, but never taken the plunge. This has been very informative. I'm off to hunt for starter boxes, cheers!
Another great video my friend. I always enjoy and look forward to your works. I love how you played with both speed paints and the oils. I do a lot of this myself and I’m always trying to see how others work this style. Beautiful!
Once again, great video and a wonderful paintjob! And yes, Enki Bilal is amazing. If you ever need some comicbook inspiration for some over the top armored space warriors, maybe check out the work of Juan Giménez (metabarons). Anyways another top video, great work!
As always, thanks for a thoughtful and well-presented video. You've made me consider picking up a few of their models...which leads to a force...which leads to actually playing!
Awesome sauce, Infinity is such an amazing game! Would love to see an updated video once you guys have had a few games, it gets super interesting with more synergies and list building!
I am usually not one to leave comments on videos but I would like to thank you for your thorough presentation of the game and hobby painting. These are things I have been interested in and I found it both entertaining and informative seeing your take on it. Furthermore, the production value of this video was professional and enticing. Well done. Keep up the good work!
Wow love this. The painting process is really interesting, would like to see something even more detailed on that. Infinity is my number 1 game, happy to see it getting some representation^^
25 minutes of smart, honest and interesting opinion are for me the best advertisement this game can recieve. I like the alternatives, even if Warhammer miniatures and core lore would always be my favorite, as it was part of my childhood and teenagers years. It doesn't mean that I'm closed to other systems and games. After all, these days/years, I'm playing occasionally Warhammer 40 000 small battles with the One Page Rules system, that I very much envoy. So I'm glad when a creator like yourself present another game in this way.
Really love how you captured the style inspiration. Ive had Enki Bilal on my wishlist for ages ever since i feel down a Euro scifi rabbit hole with The Incal and the Pilote/Heavy Metal originals. One day I'll get around to more.
Beautiful video, as always. So lovely to see a holistic hobby journey into a new gaming system presented in this documentary style. More of this, please!
I am the reverse of your viewers. As someone who plays and watches infinity content this is my first time finding this channel. I loved the video and the painting. I like that you had brutal cities terrain ready to go. I hope you get more into the game and get a chance to enjoy the intricacies.
Welcome to the channel B. I did indeed get BC terrain a few years back. I’ve got videos on how I painted it, released relatively recently if your interested
Great video Alex, thank you. Infinity miniatures are always my first go to for character models, they offer a very personalised experience and they all come with the hint of a backstory built into the design, and they paint beautifully.
6:34 from my experience stripping metal mini's I know that isopropanol alcohol doesn't interact with super glue, so you don't have to be careful cleaning them. Acetone however does dissolve super glue and paint and thus is a great option for stripping metal mini's that you want to reglue as well (or have them in parts for any other reason).
Great stuff and lovely paintjobs. Hopefully we see the occasional vid with some Infinity mini painting. Always like to see different takes on Infinity minis.
Even if sci-fi isn't my cup of tea, these minis look awesome! Especially with your paintjob. I really like the artistic/painterly approach and the color choices. Great job! But I must admit, 170 pages of rules are quite intimidating. At least for me.
I have been playing Infinity since 2014 (on many a tournament, too) and I've never read a rule book in its entirety. The core rules are intuitive and everything else can be learned while playing and using the wiki on the app. It is a journey, though, mastering this game.
I love seeing people painting Infinity minis and trying out the game, I started with Nomads for Code One and Bakunin Jurisdictional Command in N4 myself :)
Love the video Alex, hope you get more into the game! I’m going to a tournament next month, very excited. Also good to see that you’ve got some nice terrain for the game already hehe, I designed all those buildings for Infinity N3 which had very specific terrain rules. For a full 300 pt game as I’m sure you know now you’ll need about 2 thirds more terrain for a balanced and fun table, due to the ARO mechanic. Again, your speed painting colours are just so lovely! There’s a speed-painting guide on my blog written by a local Infinity painter player (Tom Boele) and he has some really unique and effective colour methods I never knew about (I went to a painting class he ran a while back)
@@52Miniatures😂 two choices: 1) Lots of terrain. 2) only this much terrain and lose half your army in your active turn 😂 Of course this is perfect for a tripped back game. I really love how deadly shooting is in this game.
What a great Video! I really appreciate your content, due to your smart and humoric style - infotainment at its best. Im happy that you present this awesome game - one of the best in my opinion… Finally i love the results of your paintings - as always. Thanks for doing this and i would love to see more infinity content. P.S.: The brutal cities terrain is fits nice ti the cyberpunk settings, but i would recommend more buildings and walkways ;)
I love iso for a quick clean before airbrushing. Unlike other options it dries fast so if you remembered only at the last minute (as I often do) you aren't delaying your priming. I use an old toothbrush though.
As a long time Infinity nut and warcor, I love to see CB putting some ad dollars out there. I really enjoyed the trick you did with an oil paint, as its something I would typically avoid using on a CB model. One of my favorite systems in the game is their use of a silhouette, basically every model has a size that represents a Cylinder that allows them some creative poses without getting in trouble with in game line of sight.
Infinity is such a great game. Granted lots of scenery is required but easy to do with the various cardboard ranges CB do. I can't recommend enough. Also the minis are insane quality
Thank you for this. I'm a very casual player, really only interested in Infinity compared to other wargames. I saw your tip about the Battleship Grey Speed Paint last night, and while I mostly use Vallejo, I picked up a bottle to see how your hack works.
Alex, I'm glad no one tried to stop you. Now, I'm not an expert on the genre by any means, but I can't think of anything cooler than Sci-fi nuns with guns. Well, maybe hot Sci-fi nuns with guns.. are you really sure these ladies are nuns? 😉 I particularly like that these figures are true scale, for obvious reasons. Love your new frontier outpost!
These particular nuns are just one group of many on the world-ship Bakunin which is a space shared by but the most extreme and obscure outliers of society. You can field them along genetically modified beings used for arena fighting and pleasure, potent hackers, and a brutal police force.
I mean, I never read a comment about GW’s rather constant marketing blitz yet as soon as other companies do a push every now and again it’s something to comment on.
Great video! Love seeing a spotlight on Infinity, I've had Operation Red Veil and the expansion for a while but only just started assembly and priming so far. Would be great to see your take on the game This Quar's War if that's of interest to you. I think the Quar minis look great.
For new players: CB offers cardboard terrain kits, which are an affordable way to quickly fill a table. The starter boxes also come with tokens to help track game state. Your paint jobs look great! I picked the same two factions. My understanding is that JSA is pretty advanced to play well, but the minis are super cool! They are great for 5 Parsecs or Stargrave too.
I know that Infinity exists probably since 2005, but never got to deep into it. This video has been a blast! ;-) If I would get back into typical tabletop wargaming, I think the only thing hindering me would be the metal miniatures.
Hey, your painting skils are mad awsome! Your chops are up to any box art. So don't you dare say other wise. Lat love to ya brother. From one of yours. Edwink
@52Miniatures ❤️ I have said it before. Sitting down to your videos is like sitting down with a close friend. You have built a family of friends across the globe. Keep it up.
Yes, I remember Bilal's art in m'y father library wedge betwen metabaron and l'incal , great works. I like how you painted the minis in the same tone 😊.
I still have my old infinity models, always enjoyed using them as proxies for other games (primarily as I don't have any local friends that play infinity)
I've always loved the look of Infinity. Reminds me of Ghost in the Shell plus Aliens. The complexity has always scared me off though. We recently picked up Cyberpunk Red Combat Zone, so maybe once we get a few games of that in I'll come back around to Infinity.
The complexity really comes from trying to use the entire ruleset at once. Once you have the core gameplay start tacking on other things like camo units and or hacking.
You posted the announcement, and lo!... I have come. JSA are one of my faves to boot, Nomads are on my "to do"...Because the idea of just saying "fk you" to everyone and getting on with their own thing is just awesome. Which is probably why I also like JSA so much...And ninjas, ninjas are just fkn cool. You are legit feeding my soul with the Infinity content recently.

Thanks! Yeah, I did the same. Got a bunch for Stargrave too
Infinity miniatures are fantastic to paint - they lend themselves so well to washes and contrasts, all the fine and crisp detail really doing the work catching highlights easily as well.
Perfect timing! I recently just got back into Infinity after a long break! 😁
Great to see Infinity getting the love it deserves from the You Tube community. I know we have the TV series coming soon but I can't help thinking that something bigger is coming soon.
I just saw that theres an Infinity Arena game coming to steam soon too.
Always good to see you Alex. Thank you for this video about Infinity.
Hey Dave! I’m glad you enjoyed it. It’s a pretty rad system :)
Thanks Alex. I've been aware of Infinity for a while, but never taken the plunge. This has been very informative. I'm off to hunt for starter boxes, cheers!
Yeah I think I'm finally going to get some.
Good to see you get down the rabbit hole of new Systems and miniature styles.
Looking forward when you get into some 15mm Mantic stuff.
The list of games is long!
This was great Alex!!! I need to get my infinity stuff done too ❤
Thanks Peachy! I’m glad to hear it. Thank you for the Silver Bayonet content!
@@52Miniatures im having the best time with that game, among many others 😍
Thank you for a lovley indroduction video and some tips and tricks about your painting process!
:)
Glad you enjoyed it!
"French ashtray grey" - That's a wonderful description, particularly when said in a droll Nordic voice!
Love seeing the terrain being used, I have been interested in this game, minis are not cheap tho, but I guess it evens out with free rules.
I’m a CB fan - you get what you pay for IMO and I haven’t come across crisper, cooler miniatures than they do!
I really loved the 3rd phase! So good with such little efford. Thank you
Yes! A really great video. The highlighting tip near the end, was, well, quite the highlight for the video. Kudos Alex.
My pleasure Chris
Another great video my friend. I always enjoy and look forward to your works. I love how you played with both speed paints and the oils. I do a lot of this myself and I’m always trying to see how others work this style. Beautiful!
Thank you very much!
Infinity has great sculpts and great rules! Lovely to see that the game has gotten more attention lately.
Once again, great video and a wonderful paintjob! And yes, Enki Bilal is amazing. If you ever need some comicbook inspiration for some over the top armored space warriors, maybe check out the work of Juan Giménez (metabarons). Anyways another top video, great work!
Thanks W 🙏 I will check it out
As always, thanks for a thoughtful and well-presented video. You've made me consider picking up a few of their models...which leads to a force...which leads to actually playing!
Hobbyists actually playing games!
You're always a radical thinker Michael lol
I tried and it worked! Pretty rad. Thanks Michael
Awesome sauce, Infinity is such an amazing game! Would love to see an updated video once you guys have had a few games, it gets super interesting with more synergies and list building!
Your take using Bilal´s art as concep for painting your minis is brillant. They look awesome.
Thanks I appreciate it T
This is an excellent, informative, helpful video. Thank you, Alex!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you Pathos, I appreciate it.
hey bud glad you got into another cool Tabletop board game. their minis are really cool
This was an absolute joy to watch. Also the pacing and the voice were SO pleasant. 👍
I’m glad you appreciated it. Thanks 🙏
Fantastic overview of a great game system!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks K! I appreciate it.
Loved this video and the mention of Enki Bilal; The Hunting Party is a fantastic book.
Love the style
Fine work as always mate, beautiful final results too!
Thanks Theo!
Glad you enjoyed it Ollie!
Excellent inspirado. Heavy Metal/Metal Hurlant is so inspiring.
Thanks
Thank you very much for the support!
@@52Miniatures very welcome :)
I´m speechles about your color building process and results. It´s something really special.
Thank you humbly R 🙏
Thanks Mick!
These minis are awesome in person. I picked some up at NOVA last year and love the way they look.
Nice video as always and Wohoo Infinity 🔥😁
Thanks! 😁
Bang up job on that Kimono, man.
Thank you 🙏
So good to see some Infinity Love! The game is great and i wish more people played it.
Thanks W!
Great stuff and lovely paintjobs. Hopefully we see the occasional vid with some Infinity mini painting. Always like to see different takes on Infinity minis.
Thanks 🙏 I appreciate it
Спасибо за видео! Давно люблю эту вселенную и миниатюры Infinity
My pleasure, I’m glad you liked it
Great topic! Been curious but haven't taken the opportunity to delve into it.
Your green & cream scheme would look good on some infinity
Even if sci-fi isn't my cup of tea, these minis look awesome! Especially with your paintjob. I really like the artistic/painterly approach and the color choices. Great job!
But I must admit, 170 pages of rules are quite intimidating. At least for me.
I have been playing Infinity since 2014 (on many a tournament, too) and I've never read a rule book in its entirety. The core rules are intuitive and everything else can be learned while playing and using the wiki on the app. It is a journey, though, mastering this game.
The models are pretty cool! I've gotten some in the past but it was fun to get to paint some more. And now I have to teams to go :)
Love Infinity, Its what got me back into the hobby, some of the best minis out there
I adore a lot of the minis definitely. I've used a fair few for Stargrave in the past as well.
The finished result of the minis turned out great! Loved the simple yet bright colour scheme, and I quite like how you did the bases too 🎨
Thanks a bunch!
I love seeing people painting Infinity minis and trying out the game, I started with Nomads for Code One and Bakunin Jurisdictional Command in N4 myself :)
Good vid, will be looking into this game
Love the video Alex, hope you get more into the game! I’m going to a tournament next month, very excited.
Also good to see that you’ve got some nice terrain for the game already hehe, I designed all those buildings for Infinity N3 which had very specific terrain rules.
For a full 300 pt game as I’m sure you know now you’ll need about 2 thirds more terrain for a balanced and fun table, due to the ARO mechanic.
Again, your speed painting colours are just so lovely! There’s a speed-painting guide on my blog written by a local Infinity painter player (Tom Boele) and he has some really unique and effective colour methods I never knew about (I went to a painting class he ran a while back)
Thanks Ryan! I can see the terrain salesman coming through 😂 Just joking, I agree, more terrain!
@@52Miniatures😂
two choices:
1) Lots of terrain.
2) only this much terrain and lose half your army in your active turn 😂
Of course this is perfect for a tripped back game. I really love how deadly shooting is in this game.
What a great Video!
I really appreciate your content, due to your smart and humoric style - infotainment at its best.
Im happy that you present this awesome game - one of the best in my opinion…
Finally i love the results of your paintings - as always.
Thanks for doing this and i would love to see more infinity content.
P.S.:
The brutal cities terrain is fits nice ti the cyberpunk settings, but i would recommend more buildings and walkways ;)
Much appreciated!
Another game I've wanted to try for a while, might have to pick up a starter set
Great video! Welcome to Infinity and the Human Sphere!
Thanks for having me 👋
I love all of this.
Yeah 🙌
I love the T'au so I'm glad to see you do a few. The Ghostkeel is one of my favorite minis ever
Oops. This was a comment for eBay Miniature rescues. Had a playlist going and got the wrong comment here.
Love the Infinity content though.
Tau are cool so no worries, so is eBay Miniature rescues :) So all good
Yes! Infinity! I hope it's here to stay.
I've primed my infinity by doing that zenithal approach simply with rattlecans (and the final white drybrush touchup) and it works really well
I love iso for a quick clean before airbrushing.
Thanks for the tip Rob 👍
Great video! Thanks
Glad you liked it!
Excellent video Alex
Thank you very much Ben
Thank you for this. I'm a very casual player, really only interested in Infinity compared to other wargames. I saw your tip about the Battleship Grey Speed Paint last night, and while I mostly use Vallejo, I picked up a bottle to see how your hack works.
I hope it works. I’ve now bought a few brighter speedpaints to see how that works.
Oddly this video has made me hyper focused on terrain 🤣
I think one needs to be for this game!
@@52Miniatures I guess I better check it out 🤣
Alex, I'm glad no one tried to stop you.
Thanks Mark! It does indeed seem to be a weird faction with a lot of fun shenanigans going on, including nuns. And yes, the outpost is grand :)
I'm all the way in. I haven't been this excited about a new game since Warcry.
Nice Kevin 👍
The marketing blitz continues!
I mean, I never read a comment about GW’s rather constant marketing blitz yet as soon as other companies do a push every now and again it’s something to comment on.
Fantastic job!
Thank you very much!
I love all the attention infinity is getting right now
Excellent video!
Thank you very much!
Great video! Love seeing a spotlight on Infinity, I've had Operation Red Veil and the expansion for a while but only just started assembly and priming so far.
Would be great to see your take on the game This Quar's War if that's of interest to you. I think the Quar minis look great.
I agree, the game looks fun, but I do have a bunch of other games I want to get through first :)
@52Miniatures I'm looking forward to seeing those. I love your videos Alex!
Thanks for the tip Salt!
Models look great. Also, this is the 3d infinity video I've seen this week.
Yeah! How many GW videos have you seen? 😁
@@52Miniatures Too many
@@HALOLAMOREUX that's the spirit
Lets goooo infinity breaking into the mainstream
I know that Infinity exists probably since 2005, but never got to deep into it. This video has been a blast! ;-) If I would get back into typical tabletop wargaming, I think the only thing hindering me would be the metal miniatures.
Do you plan looking into both Quar's War and Trench Crusade?
Not that I know of 🤷🏼♂️
There are games out there that deserve more than Warhammer deserves.
Hey, your painting skils are mad awsome! Your chops are up to any box art. So don't you dare say other wise. Lat love to ya brother. From one of yours.
Edwink
Thank you humbly Edwin
@52Miniatures ❤️ I have said it before. Sitting down to your videos is like sitting down with a close friend. You have built a family of friends across the globe. Keep it up.
Cool as always.
Thank you! Cheers!
Yes, I remember Bilal's art in m'y father library wedge betwen metabaron and l'incal , great works. I like how you painted the minis in the same tone 😊.
Cool, thanks!
Ghost in the Shell 100%, you have the sense of it right there and I'd never made the connection, I love it for a bit of the sense of Altered Carbon
Ninjas are indeed the baseline of cool :)
Looks great
Thank you!
