My favorite song out of the 70's I was just a kid when I heard this. Now, in 2024 still listening. Thanks, Mr. Stewart
Who would have ever known back in the 70's that most of the music from that decade would be immortalized...
Perfection! That sax guy is amazing!!!
My thoughts exactly. Perfection!
“There’s something back there that you left behind”
That line gets me every time. Nostalgia can be a dreadful pit of despair.
"Nostalgia can be a dreadful pit of despair." I like it very much b/c it's so true.
I don't know, sometimes it can be a fun place to remember good times in your life. I like to visit there myself once in awhile.
Year Of The Cat = Good. Time Passages = Outstanding!
Everything about this song is beautiful. Guitars, piano, and sax are phenomenal. So much emotion. And Mr Stewart’s voice is so soft and comforting.
So ironic, this song. You listen to it and it takes you through your own time passages. Right back to 78.
What a beautiful song it’s played live great sax solo
The great Phil Kenzie on sax!!!!
Phil was not here that is Bryan Savage here. Phil left the band to tour with Rod Stewart.
@@pinkfloydcentral6384Yes, Phil Kenzie was the sax player on the studio version.
Phil toured with Rod Stewart and just about two dozen other bands.
@@denniscarey8426 He then toured with The Eagles in 1980 after David Sanborn went to rehab and Phil hit the high alto note on The Long Run on Wrong Night at Long Beach to hit the note ala Time Passages. The version on Eagles Live he re-recorded his sax solo in the studio.
This song live is just as good as the studio version
Absolutely!!
A testament to a good group when they can pretty much replicate the sound of the record
The song and performance was well performed in it's time in the late '70's...they just don't make music like this any more...so sad
I second that emotion
Want to jamn?
Cheers 🍷
That's was the best part of my life
That's was the best part of my life
Outrageous Sax work here.
Absolutely brilliant.
NOT " WORK" PLAYING ANY GOOD SAX IS A PRIVILAGE AND AN INTENSE< UP LIFTING PLEASURE!!!!!
What a great song !!!🙂
They actually made an effort to make it sound like the album. Terrific. Most live recordings are not like this.
Not always a good thing. But it worked this time
Late seventies. This song was constantly aired in a local radio of the small town in the center of Italy where I lived in. Such beautiful memories...
Al Stewart is truly one of a kind, musician. He can evoke the feelings of his listener like no other.
A time passage back to when music mattered!
My favorite Al Stewart song..."Time Passages"
What I would give to play music this effortlessly. Such a flawless and relaxed performance 👏
I had a little radio by my bed in 70's and would listed to "Westward One Radio Network." What a magic time to be alive. Time Passages makes a lot more sense now then it did when I was 10.
I still love Al Stewart's songs. I was a boy when this came out. I remember the cold snow
Masterpiece with best All's band musicians.
What a beautiful song for this time of year. Thanks Al and the band. I can listen to your music all my life.👍♥️
Simply amazing, I never tire of that song!!
Really a great version of this song, and it's fun to watch Al playing some lead electric guitar. Such fine musicians.
STILL ROCKING
We're all time machines.
Memories take us traveling back through the past.
Dreams move us forward into the future.
Well said
❤
Sad, beautiful and haunting song.
Yes indeed !!
I love the composition of this song . Strings keyboard sax vocals
"There’s something back there that you left behind" yes there sure is and its called great music! Why are hits I listened to as a teen in the late 60's and 70's still the best music today!
There were REAL musicians back then...80's wasn't too bad, but after that..Pffffff....take it or leave the most of it.
Beautiful song!
The strong synthesizer in lieu of the orchestra and Peter White on the Les Paul playing his acoustic guitar solo on an electric guitar was great.
#752👍👏👏these concert types were wonderful. I saw England Dan & John Ford Coley in my local movie theater. 20 feet from the stage; it was such a treat!! Today concerts are a nightmare just paying for a good ticket! Too many burn out has beens trading on their fame from the 80s!🤷🤑
Memories period.
A just good song..
I could play this song every day.
The blonde, trying to figure., who she is.
Time passages.
Much respects.
Old times, are the best for music
Old memories 😊
Sublime !
Outstanding !
Gorgerous !
Inégalé !
El saxofonistas un genio , Al. espectacular.
This performance deserved a standing ovation, I hope they were lauded with one upon their return to the stage/completion of the concert.
For many who graduated from high school that year, "Time Passages" initially served the Class of '78 as a 'tool used to guide the pace of our lives'. Unfortunately, the Iran Hostage Crisis took place in '79, sending our lives through turmoil, and tarnishing that 'promised rosy future', only some of which was made up for by the prosperity generated during the latter 1990's. Our sunset has since begun...
Hello post modern.. Communist
Awesome!
I was born on Dec 30th, 1979, just one year a bit later! Great song! From Panama, in Central America.
So damn tight. Beautiful
Rocking It 3 12 2023
I'm still searching for the T-shirt I bought while at the Seattle concert, that year. Late 1978. It was my favorite. 😢❤😂 it's gotta be in a box somewhere around here........
Lovely music...love this song too!!!xxx
This is pretty good for a live version of a song produced by Alan Parsons!
Wow, that sax is true to form!
By the way, Al would have never incorporated a sax in his music if it wasn't for Alan.
After seeing its potential, Al used it extensively in the Album Time Passages.
Yes! And the story goes that Parsons called Phil Kenzie to play sax on Year of the Cat and he was watching a movie and didn't want to leave his house but he came out as a favor, recorded the solo quickly and went back home to catch the end of the movie.
I didn’t realise Alan Parsons produced Al’s songs but this does not surprise me. Awesome depth of sound. The APP is on my play list 👍 Love this
I love APP, and DSOtM, but Alan Parsonsdidn't do Al Stewart any favours with the over verbed production on this album. Totally ruins it.
Gorgeous all around but man, starting at 5:00, it's a stone cold jam. Everyone doing their respective parts to hammer it home.
I guess your music instrument is your CD player... Their playing is really tight and precise.
I loved Time passages then and i still love now
. 2024
Yaaay AL STEWART❤
I FINALLY FOUND YOU.....YAY
Great in concert
If you haven't bought the 5.1 surround versions of Time Passages & Year Of The Cat, what are you waiting for!? Superb sound & mixed again by Alan Parsons

E sempre gratificante rispolverare questi brani di al stewart mi riportano indietro alla passata gioventù quando ero un giovane adolescente spensierato capellone bei ricordi che non si cancellano ma rimangono sempre nella mia memoria ❤
From one of the first albums I bought when I was a kid just after it came out.

Yes !
Amazing version.
Sound really wonderful
Genial stewar con estos temas que son joyas del ayer que perduran el el futuro musical excelente sonido
I really envy people who are just discovering Al , come for Year of the cat and discover a rich tapestry of work from “the historical weaving of”over the border” to pure hook full pop like “Here in Angola “. Enjoy……
So good
Altro bel brano questo di al stewart la memoria corre subito lontano a quei magici e mitici anni 70 80 che meraviglia questi brani indimenticabili ❤😂😊
Wonderfull Times!!! ! 1978, December, 1th in Ranking Billboard this song!!!

Great Musical Hook 👏
What a song by a great musician. I know the lyrics to the song and I sing along every time I listen to it.
Their very good.

I'm just listening to the words as if I'm hearing them for the first time. And I saw him live about a dozen years ago. I should upload that photo with him somehow.

That keyboardist is great. Thought off Emerson, Lake and Palmer for a moment.
A proper songwriter
Grazie al per questo capolavoro sei stato veramente grande ciao dalla Sicilia Italia
I love this song. I went back in time on my death bed. I had 2 diabetes
Who's the Sax man?, He fit in really well on this tune, as well as "Year of the Cat"
Phil Kenzie played on both those tracks on the records, not sure if that's him here.
Bryan Savage
Excellent. But..I’m not sure what the blonde woman’s purpose was with her screeching voice.
I HAVE to agree😬….definitely could have done without her in this performance.
Agreed!!
Agree
Yep
Yeah
pra mim essa é uma das melhores músicas do al stewart sucesso de 1978 em 11 12 1978 direto do túnel do tempo e etc.
esse show foi gravado em passaic, nova jersey, estados unidos da américa em 11 12 1978 e etc.
I was there
Who’s the girl with the tambourine ? Al’s girlfriend ? (Serious question, btw) 😐
It's songs like this and others that earned Alan Parsons the title of Lord Alan from the Queen before she passed. He was Sir Alan before that
