Dean, imho, did his best work in front of a live audience. It's fun to watch his different interpretations of songs at different times. He always made us feel that we were invited into the show and played right to the audience, but was never condescending. His voice was smooth, powerful and he always captivated people and made it look so darn easy.
Kermit "Ken" Lane (December 20, 1912 - November 23, 1996) was an American musician from Brooklyn, New York. He was best known to audiences as Dean Martin's pianist on The Dean Martin Show in the late 1960s and early 1970s, but was already well known in the film community before that.
Another fine effort by Dean from the great American songbook. He performed many on his show that he never recorded. Our loss...glad you found this one.
We lived our little drama We kissed in a field of white And stars fell on Alabama Last night I can’t forget the glamour Your eyes held a tender light While (And) stars fell on Alabama (fractured 'Bama) Last night I never planned in my imagination A situation - so heavenly A fairy land where no one else could enter And in the center - just you and me My heart beat (just) like a hammer (My) Arms wound around you tight And (While) stars fell on Alabama Last night

Love his kidding with Ken Lane. Dean owned the camera and all of his audience. Can't describe it.
When Dino sings it's always Christmas!

Wow. Just amazing. So smooth, calm, confident, unique. He made songs his own.
You couldn’t say it any better.

We lived our little drama
We kissed in a field of white
And stars fell on Alabama
Last night
I can’t forget the glamour
Your eyes held a tender light
While (And) stars fell on Alabama (fractured 'Bama)
Last night
I never planned in my imagination
A situation - so heavenly
A fairy land where no one else could enter
And in the center - just you and me
My heart beat (just) like a hammer
(My) Arms wound around you tight
And (While) stars fell on Alabama
Last night
