You will never, never, never see shows like this again. RIP to all.
These guys were legendary. They just cannot duplicate them.
😢
Emphysema had started to take its toll on Dean from the early 80s on, but the loss of his son Dino in 1987 really did him in. His heart simply wasn't in it anymore and he pretty much retired from public life. So to see him here in 1990 is both a rare treat and a bittersweet reminder that this talented performer probably wasn't long for this world anymore. The Rat Pack era was coming to an end...
Thanks for the background. It is extra special, in light of that information, that he showed up for his friend, Sammy.
Well said. Don Rickles did an interview with Charlie Rose in the late 90's & he talked about Dean losing his son and Don said Dean's shoulders dropped after that and he was never the same again. RIP Deano.
Heartbreaking
Dean had a couple more years before he stepped out of limelight. July '92 he finally called it a day. Definitely bittersweet, but my goodness he still had that sparkle.
im glad the rat pack lasted as long as it did even if it was a bit short
Intelligence, self-awareness, self-irony... Immense Heart. The King of Cool forever.
Dean, Sammy, and Frank blended together like a fine wine of intricate flavors
They had a special affection for each other. You can see it in their eyes and smiles whenever they are together.
Dean was the King of Cool.
According to his daughter, Martin’s drunk act was just that - an act. He was very much a homebody, rarely socialized, and loved best relaxing at home watching old westerns on TV.
He would drink apple juice, he never drank real alcohol at all
@@dnakatomiuk😂bullshite
Many of those Westerns he was in like Rio Bravo with John Wayne
Sammy Davis for me by far the greatest Entertainer of all Time !!
Agree singing, dancing, acting and comedy most entertainers struggle to achieve proficiency in one
@@Spudmurphy1970 how true👍
Well said!
Nah, he was a tiny midget!!!
The candy man has been singing and dancing since he was 5
Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis, Sammy Davis, Burt Reynolds my heros and of course The Rat Pack. R.I.P.
so sad "star power" these days is mediocre!these guys were Entertainers in the purest form!every single person in any theater would clap after any kind comedy or serious performance act!very few good comedians these days!
Sammy Davis. Humble to the end.
Dean Martins comedic timing is undefeated. none of that is written, thats off the top of his head, not many people can do that
Dean Martin and the Rat Pack, just great entertainment that we will never see again.
His little bit about the Royal Family was very smooth! Rest easy to all of these amazing people.
RIP my lovely Dean Martin❤❤❤ without you and the others my world isn't beautiful anymore...
Sammy Davis jr was a musical genius. Ee o eleven, Mr Bojangles, candy man, and Sam’s song are still my favorites. From Sammy, to Dean, to Sinatra, we will NEVER get performances like they put on in Vegas ever again💯
Soit béni leur époque, que dieu fasse renaître ces artistes de haut vol...
There is a b&w skit from the 1950s or so with the rat pack in Chicago and dean is holding sammy in his arms and goes up to the microphone and says “I’d like to thank the NAACP for this award!” Such innocent times when no one got offended.
Martin did have Sammy's talent. Sinatra's too. No slight to either - both were fabulous - but I doubt if there's ever been anyone more innumerably talented than Dean Martin.
I could not agree more. Dean was the greatest of them all.
Could Dean dance?
@@cheeto692 Very much so.
LEGENDS all over! 👌
Thx for the good old times! 👏
I was birn in 81 and right now listening to those passed away tye likes of Sinatra, dean, sammy don rickles, etc it feels like they were the true pioneers of the Hollywood no matter who came after them they shaped hollywwod to what it is and to date they still are pioneers the roasts were never vulgar like nowdays
Dean was not drunk.is senses of humour is damm.so good
Gemini (Dean) and Sagittarius (Frank and Sammy) friendship always so fun and great
Imagine the things these men have seen and done in the Las Vegas of the 50s & 60s!? Ppl don't realize that the Las Vegas of today is nothing like the Vegas of the 50s & 60s! There is nowhere on Earth like that Las Vegas.
High class men
You mean mired in mafia corruption and ridden with crime aye? Here’s a deal son, you have that crimefest ok and me? I’ll take todays corporate crimefest
@@gunsharck - I'd rather mob corruption than government corruption all day long and twice on Sunday, lady.
@@HardRockMiner😂 exactly
Dean Martin singing little ol wine drinker me is one of my fave songs.❤
I STILL watch the Dean Martin Roasts on youtube. All the best, gone. Poor Rich Little has nobody tto imitate anymore 2024❤
Ruth buzzi & Angie Dickinson are still going from the old days of the roasts & I think Bob Newhart is still alive.
You Know Who's A Good Guy Also? Mr. Tony Danza.👍🙋😉
LOVE HIM
Just miss so much the roasts on tv .Top class entertainment from the best entertainers ..... Rest easy .
They were all in Robin and the 7 Hoods. A classic.
Fantastic movie!
Sammy has a great since of humor
Martin was the best. one of a kind
Dean Martin - what a talent !!!
Gosh so many good memories, I remember Dean's Celebrity Roast....best entertainment ever!!!
Oh, yeah! Great fun!
The greats missed 🙏🏼🙏🏼🕊️
He was never drunk 😊
Always tipsy
He played the drunk very very good infact the best
Dean Martin had a better voice (tone) than Sinatra.
LISTEN I LOVE DM BUT FS HAD A BETTER VOICE BY FAR
@@rontrivett8596 I don´t think so and Elvis was also the much better singer.
@@Katzenhase EACH TO THEIR OWN. PERHAPS YOUR HEARING IS GOING???!!!!
@@rontrivett8596 Sinatra sings every song the same way. Elvis was superior in every form whether vocally, looks, charisma and versatility.
@Katzenhase YOU SAY SINATRA SINGS EVERY SONG THE SAME WAY???!!! WTF!!! YEAH HE SINGS EVERY SONG BRILLIANTLY!!! HTF WAS DRUG ADDICT ELVIS SUPERIOR IN EVERY FORM....EVERY ELVIS SONG THE SAME. AS FOR LOOKS!!!??? WTF U ON BOUT...THE MR BLOBBY PERIOD!!!
He died at 64 and had a 60 years time career. Amazing !
"What's his name"! Nobody could get away with calling Frank Sinatra "what's his name". Only Dean. He just didn't give a $#@&. Still love those guys.
And Don rickels
In so many ways, a good show if you watch all of it.Funny even. But also.. an end of an era. And while both are famous even today... in the end they were both sad and lonely.
I always liked Dean Martin. He don't get enough press. 👍
I love Dino, Sammy, Sinatra, Crosby, all complete artists. from Brazil 🇧🇷
Totally agree ❤️ Thanks for tuning in from Brazil!
Fantastic!
Love dean martin
Quality in every way. Don't make them like that now. Sammy davies, Dean Martin, Frank sinatra. Ect ect ect .
Elvis Presley is the greatest and most versatile singer of all-time, and growing up, Elvis Presley's idol was none other than the great Dean Martin.
He definitely wasnt the greatest. Micheal Jackson dances around him like child’s play .
Super super❤
Greatest generation in modern times and all are gone.
What do you mean great generation? They were obviously awesome people, but there were a lot of horrible people who used to harm others who looked even slightly different. It’s disturbing to me how you guys rewrite history. Humans have been humans forever.
😂😂😂👏👏👏
I was hoping he would show us some moves. Dean could dance too.
We had no idea. That would have been great!
Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis were incredibly great Dancers in the early 1950's
Dean Martin é o unico artista que consegue empatar em carisma com Elvis Presley.Dois dos melhores que o mundo ja conheceu.
Handsome young man.
Loved it ❤❤
That's kind. But of course he did have talent and a lot of it both in his singing and movies, talent through the roof.
Sad to see a truly lovely guy so ill
My lord nothing else I can say
🎶 All over the world 🎶
Dean was great. Effortless self-deprecating comedy.
I wish Dean would have taken better of himself so we could have enjoyed him more. It is a loss for everyone. Entertainment has never been the same
die besten, fehlt nur Frank!
What a legend, but boy, has there ever been anyone look or sound more drunk on stage??
😬
Foster brooks
It was an act.
He didn't drink.
Elvis presleys best friend ?
Martin was a Chain Smoker and Chain Drinker 😏
He was a heavy smoker don’t believe he was ever a drinker but I could be wrong
He was a chain smoker but the drinking was an act. The smoking is what killed him.
Defo dont make talent like this no more
Both died in the late 80s
Dean died in 95
@@ATOK_Sammy 1990
Was he pissed?
Dean was on fumes here.
On fumes?
a little painful
It's a wonder he fooled hollywood for so long with no talent!
I hope you’re not talking about Dean Martin cause you obviously don’t know what you’re talking about
When America's Talent was BOSS....and what do many folks did not see nor figure out....MOST of Hollywood Greats were MILITARY VETERANS with a special bond and comraderie developed years earlier....allowing them to poke, cajole, foxhole humor one another in ways only a shared Veteran Experience could bring to the table...and TV!! And America laughed and enjoyed....!! Part of America's Greatest Generation breaking all barriers...!
How in the hell can you not love ❤️ Dean.
Frank called him boy
