Will you be reviewing the New babolat propulse Fury 3 ? that shoe is getting some rave reviews. thank you
Been waiting for this review from you! Nobody has given them a super in depth review yet and if I am going to pay that price, I wanted to make sure they were worth it. Thank you! I think the next version of the Barricades could be something to look forward to as well. I think there aren’t many great tennis shoes out right now IMO. Some look really nice but are really expensive and not very good quality and comfort. BTW, your BH is looking sweet right now 💪🏼
haha thank you- its all in the camera work!
Very educational as usual. Thank you!
Hi Zach, I have one question, which basketball shoes do you recommend for tailors bunion and foot instability? Btw videos are great👍
I've been a fan since the beginning of your channel (back when it was the Tennis Pro Doc) and I always love your videos. I hope you don't mind this unsolicited correction but your title shouldn't have the apostrophe in it ("Worth its price").
Hey Zach. Great video as always. As a player that really misses the Ubersonic 2, do you think these would be a good replacement? I’ve tried the Uber 4 and ASICS FF2 Solution Speed and while they did the job, I can’t say I love them like I did the U2’s. What do you think? And if not, any other shoe out there that might give me a good fit? Thanks!
I have a pair. My first pair, had an eyelet failure. The replacement pair, I wore in a tournament. Played both days in them. The shoe held up. Performance was real good. After 2 long days on the courts in them. My feet felt good. Traction, support were real good. Didn’t slide much in them. But these are newly resurfaced courts
Durability so far /outsole?
Thanks for the review Doc. Are you serious when you said it's an upgrade from the vapor 9/9.5 tho?? As in they play similar? Damn I might have to bite the bullet here
Enjoying my Controls with Move GameDay insoles, went half size up
Zach what are the best tennis shoes out right now for shock absorption to protect knees (Federer style)?
Dear Dr Zach, this is kind of a request on a video for what shoes to look for or what shoes to buy for indoor sports like badminton, volleyball, or tennis. I would really really appreciate if you do a video for people like us who play indoor sports with small quick movement to the sides kind of shoes..
I miss the ubersonic 2s, great review doc.
What happened to the speed test? Always look forward to you running the shuffle :P
Great review as always! I can't help but feel adidas has missed a trick though in there current strategy would have thought it would have made sense to bring out a shoe to replace the soul match boost as this seems pretty similar in ethos to the ubersonic granted more stable but like where is the maximalist stable as anything shoe in their lineup? Me personally I also can't see the appeal of light strike as yeah the durability from boost gave it such appeal like yes it's a very expensive shoe but it lasts so long it's price is in my mind very fair especially on sale. Bring back the boost adidas and I'll keep buying it! Sincerely a serial ankle roller 🛼
I would love to see a review of the new Babolat Propulse FURY 3 and the New Balance 996 v5 when you can schedule it in.
whick one will you choose between this one or solution speed ff2 ?
Yo doc!! your tennis appears to have improved a ton!! that backhand is looking scary good!!
Haha thank you- I think it may be the opposite though- shanksville for me
Hey Zach. I have played basketball for most of my life and have tweaked my ankle a few times. I was playing tennis the second week of January and on an overhead shot, I stepped back and injured my ankle. I have continued playing up until the end of January because the season starts on February 13th. Last week I decided to take a break before the season to allow healing. I also decided to get an ankle brace to help when I return to playing. The pain is in the front upper part of my ankle and goes down and to the outside. I was wondering if you had any recommendations on which ankle brace would be best while still allowing me to move quickly around the court? I have seen the ASO ankle brace and the Aircast A60 are very poplar but didn't know which one or if there is a different one that would be even better. Thank you!
Could these shoes be a replacement for my outgoing vapor pro 1, which I really enjoyed? I am playing exclusively on clay. Is Theresa clay version?
@FootDoctorZach - - what would you recommend to someone who absolutely loves this shoe, but is frustrated by the short duration of the sole's life (toe wear)? I'm burning through these way too quickly and am looking for a longer lasting alternative.
Do you think they’re better than the head revolt pro 4.0’s?
Do you think they’re better than gel resolution 9?
Will u do the sky elite ff 2 from asics?
It may give u a whole different vibe 😅
Great review. I would only add that compared to my previous shoes, Sole Court Boost, some break in is required to get the true feel. Overall the Cybersonics are the best tennis shoes that I have ever worn. I have only worn them on indoor clay for a couple of weeks but I honestly feel like I am being shot out of a cannon.
What socks are those in the thumbnail by chance? I've seen them around but never got the name
Do you think the outsole is durable? I had the barricades and the outsole was definetly not durable for the price..
I ordered your Buyer's guide, but had a couple suggestions:
- Provide in a CSV file so we can sort/filter the data
- Add the 8 URS categories (Speed, Bounce, Comfort, etc.) so we can sort by those categories, or even add our own personal weight to each of those categories and to make our own custom rankings
Is it better than the ubersonic? Or barricade?
Great review 💪🏿🧠
Cannot wait for the review of Spencer Dinwiddie (DVD 1) and Aaron Gordon (AG 3 PRO) both from 361 🔥💯
NBA Players.
Hey Zac, which of these 2 Shoes do you like more: Adidas Cybersonic or Diadora Speed Blushield Fly 3 or 4?
I have a narrow and flat foot.
Just depends what you want from it- they're complete opposite shoes for complete different purposes
Is the Future FLOW considered a tennis court shoe?
I don’t understand why adidas abandoned Bounce for a material that bottoms out so quickly
To keep customers buying more shoes
Yeah, Lightstrike has never wowed me and most of the time just feels like a brick. I feel like the last Adidas shoe I really loved underfoot was the Dame 3, which had the Bounce you were talking about.
@@AddOnKicks you should give it a try with Anta, Li-Ning, 361, Xtep and the list goes on, this shoes are good for training, football🏈, basketball and running, great technology, cushioning system, premium materials, depending on the shoes you are willing to pay for due to Asians demographic the put sole in most of the cases are to last at least more than year (🧠😎)
@@LordVlad2321 yes, I have a pair of WoW All City shoes that are great and I just got a pair of Peak Undergrounds 😁 unfortunately, Anta's aren't typically available in my size 13 ☹️
@@AddOnKicks yeah comes limited on size, i have Anta KT 5,6,7,8 , 361 AG 3 PRO, Peak Taichi 4.0, Li-Ning Bad Five 1.0 and CJ 1. And a pair of Li-Ning for running and training. Very fun to play with way, i wish i had this shoes that i have now when i was younger, i will avoid many injuries. 🧠😎
In the good for/bad for section I missed the wide/narrow feet. I have a high arch and wide feet. Would these be good?
Yay, another review from the best
How would tennis shoes like this one perform in indoor sports with more running like basketball or handball? There are usually a lot of overlap in people using the same shoes for handball, volleyball, basketball even badminton but I’ve only seen a few use tennis shoes.
Most Tennis shoes is too rigid & have less cushioning. Imagine very rigid Kyrie lows. Yet very very very durable for bball
Hey doc, is this shoe is really that bad for bunions? Currently using a Vapor Pro and looking to switch due to the hard lateral flange pressing against my tailor's bunion. The cybersonic doesn't seem as harsh.
agree that Vapor Pro 1 had 2 hard lateral flanges that killed the dorsal digital nerves / bony prominences small toe ... but Cybersonic lateral design soft and continuous so I don't think tailor bunion players necessarily need to exclude
Hi Zach,
Thanks for the great review.
I loved the Cybersonics, but the durability sucks. I play padel 2-3 a week and have broken three pairs of Cybersonics in a few months. Twice the shoe lace eyelet and once the sole of the shoe.
I just have to change to a different shoe now. How would you compare the Cybersonics to the Adidas Solematch Control?
apples and oranges
Doctor, Great review as usual. Do you think this is upgrade or Better for jumping, Serving, getting up for the serve compared to Ubersonic 4 ? also i know you said lateral movement isn't as good but is it still better than Ubersonic 4 ? Thank you for all your great work with scientific review of these popular shoes
If you dont mind a streamlined shoe i think it beats the U4 in all categories but the U4 is still a more stable shoe in the forefoot
@@FootDoctorZach Now i know what streamlined means. It is very very Tight, fits like a glove but tight, i just put it on and walked around the house. I have to return it, i can't wear a shoe this tight and play a match. Impossible, my foot will die after 30 minutes
@@TheDrakulie that sucks...so it was really tight right? its ridiculous they're making shoes now these days just to justify the thigh prices but the tighter they are, the more injuries you can get. actually i was never getting injured with the normal shoes many years ago...now I'm scared the shoe or ankle will just get stuck at any point
So these are really tight?
Need two wxy v3 review doc
I switched from the ubersonic 4 to the lotto mirage 100 due to ankle pain, how would these match ups in comparison to the lotto shoes.
Not as durable foam but similar speed
Is there any WoW all city 11 review planned?
Would you recommend these over the ASICS gel resolution 9? I’m a bit on the heavier side weighing 175 and I do have wide feet. I like to play in the baseline, but I also like to slide and I toe drag from time to time. Would you recommend these over the ASICS gel res 9 for me? Or the opposite? Edit:Great review btw!
Gel 9s are built for baseliners. They focus on lateral stability. Lighter shoes are for people that rush the net. In that use case, you need responsiveness more than stability. These are for all around players that do both.
If you are more concerned with your ankle sounds like gel res 9 or last years sole court boost would be better.
@@rolandharris2706 alright, thank you.
how would you compare the cushioning of these with the solution speed ff 2?
Pretty similar
Gotta love an intimate fit with your shoes.
New Balance Fresh Foam BB?
Good pair of Tennis shoes bit way too much complicated straps and pully things. The nose is a little rounded for me but a good choice.
Is this Adidas answer for Court FF ?
So if I’m at work standing on my feet all day, would any of the move insoles help my feet from getting tired and sore, or not really do much
Thats the main use case for non-athletic purposes
@@FootDoctorZach ok thank you, would you recommend getting the game day or should I just get their all day one?
I bought these shoes 3 weeks ago and got arch pain after my first match. Second match on Sunday I fractured my plantar fascie (about 1/3). I had no previous problems with the plantar fascie. I am wondering whether this type of shoe increases the probability of that injury? Never had problems with my FF2.
Doesn’t seem correlated
@@FootDoctorZach I am not sure about that. I tried on the shoe after my injury just yesterday and even put a carbon sole inside. It feels like the shoe generates extreme tension on the plantar fascie. I dont have that with any other shoe.
It's all so personal. I have accessory navicular syndrome and the Gel resolution 9 made it so much worse that I'm getting an operation now.
Where's the FF3 review I need it lol
Im hoping to see a return of the jump height test in the videos again🙌
Can’t do everything - people complain when I do and when I don’t so I’m just going with what I find is the best most objective info
That's a shame man! I'm just here loving your videos though don't let it get ya down!
I bought the Cybersonics! Off this review, and here are my thoughts… first white shoe ever, looks good on foot, feels low, fast and supportive. Also, feels narrow and that my heel will slip, but it doesn’t. I’m a female who went true to size. I’m in 40s, work barefoot so I have a wider foot. And am still comfy in my size.
The major con: the tongue is rough! It’s got these eyelet holes all thru the tongue and the underside up against the top of the foot hurts sooo much! Adidas, please make a smooth tongue surface for the next iteration. I found these on sale for $108. Wouldn’t pay full price. Little break in except for the tongue, I have to keep the laces loose in the midfoot so I’m not completely locked down, but it still feels secure.
After one wear the tongue became unnoticed and I’m now on my 2nd pair. LOVE LOVE this cybersonic shoe.
How's the durability?@@BulletproofYourBody
@@diegomahoudeau934I’d say above average. I’m getting a few months whereas a previous shoe was 7-8 weeks. That was a big reason for trying Adidas. They last a lil longer.
Will you be reviewing the New babolat propulse Fury 3 ? that shoe is getting some rave reviews. thank you
Yup- they are comfy but not sure what the crazy fuss is about
@@FootDoctorZach they say it is super fast and explosive upward energy. when are you posting the video ?
@@FootDoctorZach If you had to buy one shoes, B ICON or Fury 3, which would you buy if you are serve and volleyer ? Thank you
Would you say that this was a genuine application of Adidas's power rods technology that was successful in their running shoe?
It definitely gives the shoe nice pop for the profile of it- its not 1-1 because there’s so much more side to side in tennis that the rods I don’t think so much for but the hold the lightstrike up nicely
@@FootDoctorZach What do you mean by the "exoskeleton" holding up the light strike? Is it not simply a hard material BETWEEN the ground /outsole and the foam? And how is this tech different from a midfoot support shank?
never played tennis, but still watching just for the tech
You're the real MVP
Why he keep saying lightstrike is etpu like boost? Isn’t lightstrike eva?
There’s lightstrike , lightstrike pro and lightstrike EVA - it’s just the name of the technique they use to make the foam
@@FootDoctorZach so this shoe is lightstrike etpu?
Can you do a review on Peak AW1
Supposedly they're in the mail
@@FootDoctorZach wow
@@FootDoctorZach Dr Zach, I have flat and painful arches. Outflared feet with a 2E width. Painful heel too. What are your recommendations for everyday use and basketball(mostly indoor).
Would these be good for pickleball?
I don’t know about “good” - you can use them and they’ll be nice and light but they’re meant for longer distance hauls - I like bulkier side to side focused shoes for pickle
@@FootDoctorZach very useful response, thank you
This blew uber4 out of the water.
the design reminds me of football boots and i don't know why
Yeah I can see that
Adidas Cybersonic notes: After wearing these shoes around the house for one day, I had no complaints. The Cybersonic is more streamlined than the new Barricade or Sole Court Boosts (one of the top then all-time favorite tennis shoes) so they do wrap the foot more than those models and have less room in the toe-box than they do. I would say they run at least a half size smaller - if not more. You immediately feel the “Energy Rods” effect on your movement propelling you forward and making toeing off from heel to toe easier. This system also makes the insoles very stable - and very stiff. I wore them casually for about 8 hours and did not find the uncomfortable - although I would not say they shoes are plush by any means. Initially, they reminded me of the Lotto Mirage 100 underfoot.
On the court, the comparison to the Lotto Mirage 100 continued. They felt very quick and responsive, but not very cushioned. If the Barricade was sturdy four-wheel drive, this shoe would be an F1 racer - the ground feedback was accentuated here. Footing was sure and responsive. Court movement and quickness seemed to be improved with the Cybersonic. That’s the good news.
On the flip side, the thin lacing system and the thin neoprene tongue did not offer a lot of comfort. I found the laces to be somewhat painful on the top of my foot on the medial side below my ankle and above the bump on the top of my foot. I also found the heel cushioning quite firm with a low heel drop, which seemed to irritate my Achilles tendon a bit. After an hour on the court, I had to take off the shoes as it was too distracting to deal with both these issues.
It is hard for me to imagine playing with these shoes on a daily basis - not only due to these fit and feel issues, but also due to the price. I think if you are looking for a game day shoe with an emphasis on performance and quickness, you would be better off with a Lotto Mirage 100 for half the price. Good try Adidas, but back to the drawing board.
How does it compare to Ubersonic 4 ? in bounce and jumping for serves ? is it better than Uber4 ?
@@TheDrakulie I think these are very different shoes. The energy rods built into the Cybersonics make the soles extremely firm. Personally, I’d rather play in the Ubersonics even with the issues that they have then the cybersonics. I agree with Zach, that these would be great for a very specific type of player which requires an extremely low and stiff foot bed. That is not me.
@@markmoore5981 you are saying uber4 has softer cushioning ? which has better jump height though? cybersonic has more lightstrike cushioing than uber4 so i am assuming cyber has better jump height ? am i right ?
@@TheDrakulie these are technical questions more geared for Dr. Zach than me. All I can tell you is I could wear the Ubersonics for an entire match and I could not wear the cybersonics for one.
@@markmoore5981 lotto mirage has hard cushioning as well, i couldn't wear that for too long. What does Streamlined mean ?
I’m a huge fan of Ubersonic 4s and this is such a downgrade in terms of design I have to say!
Too expensive for that type of a shoe.
please spanish subtitules
very expensive to have done- maybe some day
@@FootDoctorZach ok, the content is very valuable
Maybe you can help then 😅
this or barricade 12?
Just depends what you want, they're polar opposite shoes
