First time someone from youtube has actually done something and keeps pushing their boundaries. Hats off to you guys, can't wait to see the rest and the "budget" model. The video was definitely worth the wait :)
Almost turned off the video when it was revealed that you promoting your own product... but I stayed and I'm very impressed with your dedication and process. looking forward to seeing the entire story unfold.
Awesome work James, Mark and everybody else involved in the project! I'm already on the edge of my seat waiting for the next video. Keep it up guys. Cheers from Belgium
I admire everyone's ambition and pursuit of excellence. The retail price of the ATC tweeter was somewhat alarming, too. Just subscribed and looking forward to the next update.
This makes me wish I was savy enough to understand the technical aspects of monitors. Off-the-shelve never aligns seamlessly with your wishes at the level you are operating at. Awesome work you're doing!
We've been on the same journey... For my last build, I chose the Volt 3" midrange, 2x Volt 12" woofers per side and a Scanspeak Ellipticor tweeter, with FA502s powering the woofers and FA252s powering the midrange and tweeters. For my current build (which is going to look remarkably similar to your's, by sheer coincidence), I've retained the VM752, but brought in a Satori tweeter and SB Acoustics 15" woofer... This time I'm powering and managing each side with a QSC PLD 4.2... Importing stuff into India is a PITA, and for my current build, I had to import only the Volt midrange drivers... the rest of the stuff I could source locally...
So So So Well Done Guy's.....!!!!!! So So So Well Done.....!!!! What an Absolutely incredible Achievement.......!!!!! Not only Just to Create Such an Incredible Pair of Speakers.....!!!!!! But Amazing to Show What Working With One of the Best Engineers in the World and Outside of the Constraints of Building things down to the price you've been told can Achieve without 30-40% of the Price going to Marketing.....!!!! So Well Done Once Again & Really Hope You Guy's are Feeling as Pleased With Yourselves as You Should Be.....!!!!!!! Cant Wait till You Guy's Go into Production..... But for now Just So Pleased for You Guy's.....& So Pleased to See What You Guy's Have managed to Achieve....!!!!! Such an Incredible Achievement Thanks So So much for Doing it & So So So Well Done Once Again........!!!!! :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
The drivers look familiar. I use the bliesma beryllium tweeter in a 4 way with sb acoustics textreme mids and bass alongside peerless xxls 12's. Filtering is done by software called Acourate and is FIR with room correction. Brilliant speakers.
holy fucking christ guys, you actually did it. Do you plan on ever releasing these to the public? I might just have to retire my K&H o300nds if these are priced within reach!
To be honest, this journey it's impressive ! Hat off! Much respect and looking forward to see all upcoming video. If you post the project components/parts you used in the final product would be great too :D
I have a JBL 1100 w speaker. Its connected to a magnifier which is connected to my computer. Every 10 minutes this baby needs to take a little break and is then ready to wake up and shine a few moments later. Legend has it that the speaker unit has about 1100 watts. Its tied to 4 other speakers and their central work like a single central speaker. I am fine with 300 W, despite it costs a lot. Its large and most of the time it stays shut although it is used each day. It stays like this because I live next door to a restaurant and the staff are very good friends. Because my monitor is in front of a window its easy to access the speaker, find dust and remove the dust. If I use it for too long damp and other unpleasant things might come into it. Like your´s, this speaker is an absolute unit. Now, take it to a church and play it and then we start realizing why its advertised as an 1100 w system. I did not aim for the 1100 watts when buying it. I wanted to buy it cause its beautiful and its one of the absolutely best out there. Congratulations for your studio monitor man! Kind regards from Ásgeir in Iceland!
This is amazing! Great Job guys! I hope i can hear a pair of PDP Monitors soon! Keep up the excelent job and changing the audio game!! They look sexy too!
I started researching those crossovers and forgot to comment. “Comment.” Really tho, my constant back and forth from maker to musician/producer (of sorts), not to mention my obsessive nature, has me now realizing I picked the right internet friends. Ha! Congrats you guys!
Great to see you guys back. At first I thought that James was sporting a very cool T shirt or that he hadn't washed it. Then a donkey? You can't fool me, I know the difference between a donkey and Flop Cat!. It isn't Present Day Donkey's is it? The speakers look awesome and like many others need to know more. Can't wait for part 2.
have you guys tested the new line up of Adams audio A8H? Id love to see a test on them. I been using Adams t8vs because of budget. These monitors in your video are for sure out of my budget for now. Really awesome thought!
We have heard the entire new range of Adam speakers. The A8H is ok but sounded bit too harsh, in my opinion. The A77 was the best out of the bunch. Yesterday we received a pair of A7V’s so expect a review soon!
@@PresentDayProduction thanks for response. I will take your word for it at there price pointe, and being a 3 way should be perfect. Ive gotten so use to the t8vs they do have a drop in the mids. I also don't have my room treated correctly, but I so use to them I can mix and master, and get it close to pro sound. I was always good at mastering metal. even on old computer speakers in the 2000s.
Congratulations guys!! After 3 years I finally got Focal Trio, and today, all I want now are your to be released monitors!! Are you doing all your mastering on your new PDP monitors? Cheers!!
Looking at the price of that amp alone I must say I am somewhat scared of the professional level the pricing will probably reach, but wow these are looking fine! What a cliff hanger to end on, I need more details!!!!!
Yall shld check out some a/v sales mags, I've purchased and installed many systems and if u don't build em yourself than that's the best place to get em!
Congrats for those loud speakers guys. I'm pretty sure they sound amazing. Aside the speakers, may I ask if could you make a video about microphones for talking head videos like yours? I really like how yours lavaliers sound and I'm wondering what type of lavalier you use and which suite do you use for processing? Thanks guys and again congrats for the speakers.
Thanks Felipe! James here - we can almost certainly do a video on lavalier mics. :) We use the Clippy EM272 XLR from Micbooster.com micbooster.com/clippy-and-pluggy-microphones/99-xlr-stereo-clippy-em272-microphone.html Post processing is done entirely in DaVinci Resolve, in which I edit the videos. However, as the room is well treated and the mics capture a nice sound, almost NOTHING is done to the dialogue. Literally a few dB of gain to bring it up to zero and that's it. No EQ.
Going down the diy path myself but only for 2 channel. Interested to hear about the German driver mfg.. I have settled on Scan Speak as they make fantastic if pricy drivers and I only need enough for my personal use. I’ve heard only good things about the Hypex units and am glad you’ve found a great amp + crossover combo. I only do passive for now as I don’t need to re-do the design much and (in my very limited comparison) I prefer a passive crossover with high quality components. Thanks so much for sharing!
BlieSMa drivers YUMMM. I've also built myself a pair of top notch studio monitors, 6.5 inch purifi woofer got me flat down to 35 hz. Pretty shocked how they turned out
You passed the first test guys (I am a fanatic hifi DIY). Hypex is THE solution for amplification. Bruno Putzey is a genius, Ncore is a masterpiece of a project. All the advantages of class D and no issue. Power in little space, minimum energy loss and incredibly low distortion. I think he killed all esoteric hifi companies. With 1 kEUR you can build a 400 watt stereo power amp that has no comparison with commercial projects costing ten times more. I am really curious to see your drivers choice. I have not been playing with new drivers since decades, I need to update my catalog of "best of".
I have a Trinnov Altitude 16 speaker system looking at some alternative speaker solutions. Your UK based, you know your stuff.... Let me know if you'd like a guinea pig ... perhaps we could come to some arrangement.
These guys truly know what they're doing, and I'm here for it
Excellent choice of components. Pretty much state-of-the-art performance as far as amplification goes. Looking forward seeing your driver choice.
First time someone from youtube has actually done something and keeps pushing their boundaries. Hats off to you guys, can't wait to see the rest and the "budget" model. The video was definitely worth the wait :)
I honestly can't believe they're here, genuinely so impressed! Well done and the work you've put in really shows.
Next step: I gotta hear 'em
Can’t wait for you to come over and hear them Shaw
Can't wait for part 2!
I'm very lucky to have heard Mark working on these monitors in the room, and I can absolutely 100% say these sound glorious! Congratulations, guys!
Thanks Tom! Much appreciated!
You guys never cease to amaze me! Roll on part two..
Well done guys, such a lot of hard work has translated to brilliant equipment
I hope they're going to give you a pair of them, should be an uproar if not
Almost turned off the video when it was revealed that you promoting your own product... but I stayed and I'm very impressed with your dedication and process. looking forward to seeing the entire story unfold.
I'm unable to leave a funny remark, I'm very much baffled. Simply awesome!
Thank you sir!
WOW guys! You are raising the bar here! Can't wait for the next video
I always appreciate studios whom make their own custom speakers.
Supper cool! Awesome vid fellas. Cant wait for the next chapter to find out more about the drivers used.
Awesome work James, Mark and everybody else involved in the project! I'm already on the edge of my seat waiting for the next video. Keep it up guys. Cheers from Belgium
Good to see you guys are back. Have missed you lot. Was worried about you guys. 😀
Missed you all too!
Really excited to see the next installments! Good work guys :)
Finally a DIY active 3-way design, very nice to see🔥
I'm not a fan of DIY stuff typically, but when it comes to pricing out just TWO ATC speakers... I think you guys have the right idea here.
So impressed, great job Mark and James! Seeing the PDP logo on those speakers makes me soooo happy :D
Haha the easter eggs of cats is you tube GOLD. Can't wait for this while series. Very inspiring and interesting!
Well done Kids.. It was a treat listening in on the development process of those new monitors.
I admire everyone's ambition and pursuit of excellence. The retail price of the ATC tweeter was somewhat alarming, too. Just subscribed and looking forward to the next update.
Can I have James's Questeds, then? :P
😂 my thoughts exactly
This makes me wish I was savy enough to understand the technical aspects of monitors. Off-the-shelve never aligns seamlessly with your wishes at the level you are operating at. Awesome work you're doing!
You guys are insane 😂
Congrats for the amount of passion and near pathological obsession you've put into this. I'm sure it's sounding awesome.

Brilliant speakers.
Man, can't wait for this to become a commercial product. 💯
super exited for the next episodes !
They must be damn good to retire the ATCs. Congrats, they look awesome!
That’s very exciting! Congratulations!
holy fucking christ guys, you actually did it.
Do you plan on ever releasing these to the public? I might just have to retire my K&H o300nds if these are priced within reach!
This is within the plan. More details to follow in the next episodes :)
This. Is. Awesome. In every sense of the word.
Excited 🤠🤠
To be honest, this journey it's impressive ! Hat off! Much respect and looking forward to see all upcoming video. If you post the project components/parts you used in the final product would be great too :D
Amazing work guys
I'm so hyped for this. Love diy and would be a dream to build my own monitor.
Well done guys. That's amazing. Great dedication.
I was thinking this felt like a commercial for a sec lol
Love it!!!!!!!!! Great comeback
Hi Mark and James, I'm impressed that you have built a speaker that beats out your ATCs! Looking forward to hearing more about the build.
Thanks Ken!
Incredible work! Congratulations!
Woah. You can’t leave us hanging like this. We need the next episode right now! :)
Not long!

I want that nekozilla shirt, it's fricking amazing! Also really looking forward to watching the rest of the video, but this had to be said xD
Incredible work guys! And I can tell all, they sounds AMAZING!!!
Thanks Charli :D Glad you liked the sound of them
Congrats guys.and i need to say that the speakers look amazing in white !
Thank you so much :)
This is amazing! Great Job guys! I hope i can hear a pair of PDP Monitors soon! Keep up the excelent job and changing the audio game!! They look sexy too!

“Comment.”
Really tho, my constant back and forth from maker to musician/producer (of sorts), not to mention my obsessive nature, has me now realizing I picked the right internet friends. Ha!
Congrats you guys!
Thank you buddy!
im super hype for you guys
The guy at 0:47 liked them so much he had to have a quick tommy tank in his front pocket!
Great decision on using the Hypex FA253 for amplification and DSP. I'm also using those in my latest project and it has been a total game changer
They’re really great!
Holy cow am I excited!!!

Amazing work guys… keep this up and see you at 500k subs

I just ordered that catzilla t-shirt ❤ - I'm sure the monitors are awesome, but the t-shirt is slightly cheaper and also awesome.
Crikey, that was a long wait but the new vid is worth it.
Thank you :)
Congratulations guys!! After 3 years I finally got Focal Trio, and today, all I want now are your to be released monitors!! Are you doing all your mastering on your new PDP monitors? Cheers!!
We are doing ALL mastering on these monitors :)
YES IVE BEEN WAITING
Nice! Can't wait to see the next video.
-thank you for the advice!
Looking at the price of that amp alone I must say I am somewhat scared of the professional level the pricing will probably reach, but wow these are looking fine! What a cliff hanger to end on, I need more details!!!!!
We have a cheaper alternative also in the works. More to be announced in the next episodes coming in the next week or so!
@@PresentDayProduction Can't wait for that! I guess, I'll wait a little longer before getting new monitors then. 😅
Fascinating stuff! 😎 👍 I'm looking forward to seeing how you designed the cabinets.
Got to say that DIY powered monitors is a very good approach
Yall shld check out some a/v sales mags, I've purchased and installed many systems and if u don't build em yourself than that's the best place to get em!
woow you have left me mouth open. congratulations on your great success at making this happen and I totally trust you on how good they sound 😂

Epic stuff guys 🙌🙌🙌
Sounds like exciting headway, looking forward to getting a set of PDP monitors when I upgrade and move my studio situation of out of my bedroom. :)
We also have a cheaper alternative also in the works. More to be announced in the next episodes coming in the next week or so!
You crazy kids, you did it! You actually did it! Congratulations!
Really enjoyed this vid. I also find you guys to be hilariously funny!!
Can't wait to see vid #2 👍🎵👍
Thank you!
Looking forward to the follow up video.

Great! Nice choice on de amps! Eelco Grimm is one of my teachers. Great sounding speakers in my opinion
Thank you!
Impressive to take on such a daunting project. Coming from PMCs. I am very curious indeed.
Coming from ATC :)

Good video.
I guess I must be wrong, after all I've always been under the assumption Dolby Atmos height channels are cut off at 40 Hz 🤔
I am so hyped. I want a pair!! Where's the shopping list.
great project, sub'd!
