I actually liked the new Star Wars. The "weaponized hyperdrive" was cool idea in my opinion, and the effect also looked great. I think it's not so easy coming up with new ideas for a franchise like that, so kudos for at least trying. Escalation, "rule of cool" and so on.
I dunno. I feel like the resistance/rebellion does have a pretty long history of self-sacrifice that precedes holdo's sacrifice. And it's not like that ship was just disposable for them. The only reason that she destroys it is that it's already basically dead to them. Also, I don't think that they did that to destroy the death star because the death star is the size of an entire planet. It would have probably damaged the death star, but then the rebellion would lose a major ship in its fleet. I think that any admiral willing to make that sacrifice would be mutinied. You'd also have to safely evacuate the entire ship without the enemy noticing. So I feel like the Last Jedi set up the circumstances for Holdo's sacrifice rather well. Also, it's not like destroying Snoke's ship ended up destroying the first order. So if the rebellion was just kamikaze-ing their best ships left and right to take out the first order's, it wouldn't really do anything because they wouldn't really gain anything. Moreover, even if it is slightly unreasonable, I think that there is so much shit out there in the Star Wars universe that is unexplained, even before the last jedi, that it's just a miserable exercise to nitpick that sort of stuff and just realize that this stuff is for children.
Generation Tech has a video on the hyperdrive thing from star wars that effectively makes that scene where holdo pulls a bulletstorm and shoots through the ship. To summarize the video, hyperdrives in star wars have a mechanism that pulls the ship out of hyperspace to avoid crashing into large objects since the mass/gravity of those objects are still present in hyperspace. Unless holdo turned off the safety in the bridge where it probably isn’t and we don’t see her touch anything like that, we have a huge ass plothole. ruclips.net/video/ngc_x7kltOk/видео.html
And that's not exactly addressing the point made by pinkas : whatever holdo can tweak to achieve that, they could have done it against the death star in "a new hope". And they could have created autonomous ships (like drones) that do that to avoid killing pilots.
Steak Saignant i know. There’s a couple videos on that exact topic, but I’m focusing more on that one situation where holdo is somehow the first person to think of this and does it on the spot somehow
Fun video! Thanks for reminding me how much I hated the Hobbit movies. It was really painful to see how bad they were, I really prefer the Hobbit as a book because it's so different to LoTR and is a just fun little fantasy romp but they tried to make the Hobbit into a LOTR Prequel and it was real bad.
About The Last Jedi: This is completely due to wokeness. Just look at that pink haired witch. Evil politics caused bad writing and that's all there is to it. About The Hobbit: The dwarves being invincible is due to The Hobbit being a book for children while Lord of the Rings was a series of books for adults. Even though they occur in the same setting, they had very different audiences. About Gandalf knowing about Bilbo's ring: There are many magic rings in Middle-Earth. Gandalf suspects that Bilbo has one of them, but never thought that it could be the One Ring because Saruman had told him that the One Ring was lost in the ocean. So Gandalf probably figures Bilbo has one of the dwarven rings since he found it in the mountains. Or the unknown number of "lesser rings" out there.
Wait, wasn't this a music channel?
Ah, whatever, I'll take it.
Didn't you see my musical skills in the intro?

It's really criminal that this only has less than 2k views. It's a great video that's fun to watch and makes great points.
Wow, thank you! I’m really happy with the video but it never got the attention it deserved I feel like

Agree, not sure what i expected based on the short book, but it surely was something different than what we got

I'll take that as a compliment
here for the intro, stay for the video
very cool idea to put yourself in the scene.
Thank you, I got the idea from that girl that put herself in Stranger things scenes a couple weeks back!
We need new movie and video game reviews!
Game of thrones vaporwave edit when?
I like the way you think
Gandalf said that there are many magical rings (not the 3, 7 and 9 rings) that make you just invisible just like bilbo did on his birthday
Also the elves don't have weight, but most of people didn't know it and that made the legolas scene look dumb
And this is how this man killed his RUclips carrer
Willow bruh
U rite tho
Thank you, appreciate that!
I wait your tutor sir
What a minute. Romanian subtitles in GoT? Are you by any chance from Romania?
Nah, I'm norwegian. These subtitles were on the 4k Footage I could find of the scene
The Hobbit trilogy is better than the last season of GOT and especially the Disney sequel trilogy combined.
Hey man thanks for watching this video, I don't think I've seen a comment on it since the release
