Bought this on graduation day from boot camp in 03, besides a band replacement, it hasn't failed once
Got this watch for $20 second hand years ago. Battery life is forever and indestructible and waterproof! (No diving but I shower with it sometimes.)

I got one years ago at Walmart.
I found mine a few ft off shore of a lake. Around 4 ft deep, the stainless caught my eye as I am on the lookout for tackle so not to step on it. It was buried and works flawlessly. Interesting as for the lake I use the Casio weatherstation G. Posted on CL lost and found a few times, mine now.

I really like mine. It updates every night at 0:05 while I am asleep because it is Atomic . I like the fact that it retains the G-Shock style , but has a streamline design. If you are a Casio junkie you will love this watch.

I received this watch from a friend who got it while serving in the army during the invasion of Iraq. It’s seen all sorts of use from a war zone to wearing it almost everyday for the last 20 something years I have never not once replaced the battery the only thing I’ve had to replace is the watchbands but that’s from a lot of wear over the years. This watch is solid and I’d bet my life on it.

Thanks Brother! Had my last 530 for 10 years. Still works.. but gets foggy from moisture and the reverse button no longer works. Replaced the band once. I put thay poor watch through hell, but it never let me down just got the updated one in this video and needed a refresher on my time set up. Cheers.

@@northsideangler8846 I charge mine every month or 2. Just keep an observation on the power module and when it depletes to the Med. or the Low, set it in the window or outside facing the Sun and it will recharge in a few hours.
P.S. as long as there is light from the Sun it will recharge, even under cloud cover. It may take longer to charge, but it will charge eventually. Maybe a day or 2 in Winter.

Best watch for the price I got it new for $49 at Wal-Mart in Kansas 6 years ago I since seen it for $89 in Louisiana wear it while chipping brick and refrac never had to change battery and still looks new.

@@northsideangler8846 it will keep a charge for weeks. It automatically shuts off at night when not wearing
It. When you put it on just press the G button and it is ready. If no sun for days put it under a fluorescent light or in a window.

I just bought this watch tonight. When I set it up to receive a signal, it came up with a time that was 7 minutes fast. I finally set the time manually. Does this watch automatically and regularly pull time from the atomic clock? If so, I'm hoping it won't regularly leap 7 minutes forward.

Your video rocks, clear, concise and easy to understand, unlike the crappy 1 inch by 3 inch manual which needs a magnifying glass to decipher, and DOESENT show straight fwd instructions...1 question tho,I live in dallas,there's no cst/mtn etc program on this watch,the cities closest to me are chi and den on the watch...dunno which to choose,as den is mountain time but dunno if they do the dst, and chi as well...help!

Great video. My watch has been sitting on a shelf for a LONG time. I was able to set the time, and all the functions, with 1 exception. When I hold the forward botton, thinking it will go into "AC", I get a blank screen with "GET." What is that telling me?

I got one too. My Tag Heuer has become like that lonely pair of socks at the back of the sock drawer: never seen and never heard from again. BTW: I saw a great video about time spent on a US Navy sub and seemingly everyone, enlisted and officers, were wearing G Shocks

Hello. I have an older model that I just got. It has the words "time memo" on the top right button rather forward. I tried to follow all the instructions you said, but I can't find the music key for the sound. This watch is set to sound every hour. Do you know how can I change that? Thank you

How do I bring up the satellite emblem on the watch. I"m trying to auto sync it as you say but I don't have the emblem.
Mine doesn't show as well when set to auto and DST only shows on the sub dial when set to on. The emblem shows when the watch has recently recieved time.
@@coryshannon mine won't sync automatically and when I try manually it says error.
@@monsterman7721 You might be too far away from signal tower or it might be blocked where you are. If you are in the U.S. the tower is in Ft. Collins Colorado. I believe there is 1 or 2 towers in Europe and 1 in Japan (not completely sure, it's been awhile since I looked).
Mine won't sync. It's 8 months behind. This is my third G-Shock and it's crap. I got scammed. Soft floppy band that fell apart, the back of it has four screws holding down and undersized back plate, it's lost its scuba rating, and it's eight freaking months behind. And will not sync.
Casio has purposefully taken the quality out of their watch and defecated on it. And now they're selling this crap on the reputation of an honest G-Shock.
I have the Casio g-shock watch 3405 I’ve been trying to set it with the atomic clock, but I keep getting an error message, any suggestions? The signal strength won’t go any higher then L1. I live in Oregon
Have the same model and for some reason the auto sync for the time is turned off, any idea how to turn it on. If i press adjust then mode it shows the signal icon and flashes 'off' but no button presses toggle it back on.

Great review. I have the watch set for auto illumination. Tilt the watch 45 degrees and the light doesn’t turn on. Any ideas?

Hi, How I do set it to the satellite dish is always shows on the main view? Mines disappeared and it's not picking up the right time.
@RRM Mines stopped automatically picking up the atomic signal about two months ago.
How long does it take to charge to get to low my buttons dont do anything its blinking saying charge

cannot get it so set manually and does not pick up signal from tower?? does go to DST setting and 12/24 hours, but then not to time setting.

i have 2 of this watch.
one is bout 8 years old, and one just got month ago. cuz, old one was almost out of battery.
some how, i paid $50 on 2nd watch.
major different btw 1(module 2688) and 2nd(module 3450) is old one have Magnetic resistance(major different) and less time zone.
I'll keep old one(specially module) alive.
just ordered CLT1616 battery ($15 on Amazon).will goes next 8~10 years..
and will replace old damaged parts if i can.
It would be appreciated if you would reply to this comment and let me know how I can get the exact day set on this watch instead of the time zone or the year I had it previously said, but then with my time change I had to reset it

I recieved one of these as a gift, probably 8+ years ago by now - it stayed in the original box in a cupboard for the whole time.
Now the watch seems totally dead.
Does it just need a new battery, or is there any other way I can revive it once it's gotten to this state?
Turns out just leaving under a bright desk lamp for a 20 mins got it to the minimum 'level 4' power indicator.
Guess if I just keep charging it under lamp or outdoors it should be all good.
I ordered a new battery for it already so maybe I'll replace it anyway, not sure.
Also gotta decide whether to keep or sell, unused G-Shock worth a fair bit it seems.

I just got mine was $120 I have all three of them this the the silver one that he is showing and I got the other one that is all black and I got the other new one that it's blue I got all three of them two of them have the little satellite there but I can't put it on this new blue one

Great watch unless you have to/want to change the band. Then it's a pain. You need 2 small screwdrivers to change it because of the way it's screwed together. This watch doesn't have the regular pin like a lot of other watches do.

@@northsideangler8846 You don't need to "charge" this watch for MONTHS and it will keep running. These solar watches can charge even on cloudy days it will just take longer. Usually in the winter when I'm home I'll just put it on the windowsill for a couple hours to give it a boost. I have a solar watch I haven't worn in over a year and the only light it gets is from my bedroom light and it's only on medium charge. The funny thing about these "solar" watches is pretty much ANY light source will give it a charge, but again, it will just take longer.
Yeah I had to replace my band, it fell apart. This is my third G-Shock and I got scammed! Floppy band, back thing with screws on it, loss of scuba rating, won't set itself, and it's 8 months behind. They've actively purposefully destroyed the quality of their watches.

I got scammed. Flimsy back with screws, soft floppy band that fell apart, loss of scuba rating, and it's now 8 months behind. Nothing I've tried has gotten it to pick up its signal and do what it's supposed to do.
I think the standard on my old watch was 10 seconds a month time loss maybe. Longer than 10 year battery life and a screw-down back. Unfortunately I cracked the crystal on that one.
Like I said, I got scammed. Casio watch quality has taken a huge nosedive.
Anybody know any way I can rebuild the honest G-Shock? The rubber cracked and I caught it on something under the hood and cracked the crystal. Years and years ago. Last I ran across it it was still running. Unfortunately I put it away when it started getting condensation under the crystal after water exposure.
Anyway, Casio watches suck now. They took a good product, a revolutionary product, a product that supposedly replaced Rolexes within the Navy Seals, and screwed it up royally.
