This addresses the Nutritional Assessment Skill Station in NMCUK OSCE. Allotted time is 8 minutes, it comprises of written and verbal station. You will be provided with the MUST Chart. You are advised to plan your time(5mins for documentation/ 3mins to verbalise your plan)

Thanks for this presentation, please a patient has been diagnosed of stomach ulcer 7 months ago,due to a pending surgery he is not going to be able to eat in the next one week,I a scenario like this what will you stage 3 score be please?

Hi, this presented scenario can be score 2 on step 3, as this has led to no nutritional intake for 1 week. But the plan of intervention will try to manage that effectively through Intravenous Fluids as prescribed and other relevant plan. .

Hi, I have a doubt about wt loss score if the current wt is 47kg and wt loss is 5-10% means what will be the wt loss scroe?
And regarding disease effect, if the pt not eating past one week, feeling unwell with nausea and vomiting means what Will be the score. Could you please tell me the answer.

Hi, no nutritional intake for more than a week will give a score of 2.

Hello mam, if scenario is deteriorating patient with a weight loss of more than 10% in the last 10 months and the weightloss was unplanned. There was nothing mentioned about nutritional intake, should I score 2 in step 3? Thank you

The 2 points has to be there for a patient to have a score of 2 if otherwise it is still a score of 0

If the scenario is.. in the carehome ..bmi score is 2 and weight loss score is 2.. and the scenario mentions patient is acutely ill. But doesnt mention nutritional intake.. i asked the assesor if does the pt have any nutritional intake for more than 5 days.. but she told me everything is written.(written acutely ill) so wat wud be the score? 2 or 0?
