@Elrinth yeah.. first off no. Im not the seller, I have no connection to the seller, the seller is out of China, how am I supposed to know where they ship or dont ship to. So no, im not updating crap...
Did you just use the hD retro vision vision component cable for snes/n64 in your testing? This looks like a perfect option for a famicon disk drive setup, I also have a hi def nes, but it’s the toaster
@@Boogieb0423 you can use the hd retrovision component cable, but i only used the RAD2X, which gives similar output as the hdretrovision if paired with a retrotink 2x. Same output, rad2x is powered by the retrotink.
I just got that nes 8bitdo controller after seeing your video on it. That controller is badass! I can actually sit back on the couch now n play which is nice for us older ppl
If I didn't already have a RetroUSB AVS, this would be a solid option. It doesn't look particularly sharp, but that might just be the nature of the Rad2x. It would probably look much better with SCART or component through a Retrotink 5x.
I can tell you this about AC adaptors -- the original Famicom adaptor works with the Mega Drive, PC Engine, and the Super Famicom. Makes life so easy with those three consoles. Can't say if it works with the TG-16 or the US Genesis.... but I have the MD, SFC, FC, and PC Engine and same adaptor works with all 4.
It'll work with a US Genesis model 1 (will not work with model 2 or 3) It's a common 5.5mmx2.1mm barrel size with a center negative. I use a Genesis model 1 power supply to power my Model 1, my Famicom, my Super Famicom, and my Core Grafx. Older home/business security cameras use the same sized barrel on their power supplies, often with several cameras daisy chained off a single power supply. I use a 1 female to 4 male adapter and 4 short extensions (originally meant for said cameras) to power my four consoles off of a single power supply. Saves me the hassle of needing to figure out how to plug in and route 4 different gigantic power supplies, works just fine if you only power them on one at a time.
very solid deal.. I woulda jumped right on this if I didnt already have one. I paid maybe 220 total for mine.. AV Famicom for 60, NESRGB for 100 and another 60 for my buddy to mod it for me...
Pretty cool and cheap if you wanna save money but id still prefer tims option as its been on the market alot longer and he has added some pretty neat features like igr and palette swtiching with controller combinations. The only thing i hate about these rgb boards is that there is no easy way to update the firmware. Tim i believe is already on version 4.3 although you can update the firmware its alot harder than it has to be. Would love to see an sd card to be able to update the firmware so you can also update the palettes easily.
I wonder if the Famicom Disk System mod that runs on a cable and a thumb drive works for this? Does the top loader have the expansion port on the bottom?
DO NOT use a front loader wall adapter with any other console. The front loader has a built-in rectifier, and its wall adapter outputs AC. 90% of consoles can only accept DC, and you WILL damage your console. You can use a DC wall adapter with a front loader Nintendo. The rectifier will correct the current polarity and prevent any damage.
Which version of NES RGB does this copy? I heard these Lava mods don't have thr features of the NES RGB and can't be combined with the Ace audio enhancement.
Looks like roughly based on the latest version 4 of the Tim Worthington RGB board, seeing the same Lattice fpga chip, and features like selectable color pallets with a switch.
when i ordered this Famicom I started looking online for one and saw this same exact one on ebay for like $15.. was about to order one.. then I went to look for something in a bin of cables and controllers for retro consoles I have... And found one randomly that I never knew I had and never used before lol... No clue where I got it from.. but yeah search 72 to 60 pin adapter on ebay ya should find one.
while correct, you're playing a dangerous game just guessing. just because it fits, doesn't mean the polarity is correct. you're gonna fry your systems just guessing
That port is for Famicom accessories, like extra controllers. The original Famicom controllers were hardwired so to use other controllers or accessories it had that extra port, carried over to the AV Famicom so it could use those accessories as well though it adopted the US style controller ports. They had like joysticks and 3rd party controllers that could plug into that port.
for 150 bucks? Even though I have a famicom av (w retro freak converter), that is very tempting **scratch that. Seems to be sold out currently. I'll have to check back later, lol. I may consider doing the lava kit myself
If i ever, spend 150 USD on a crappy NES, which i wanna throw up as soon as i hear it's name duo to this is the only thing i've seen a ton as a kid, i would've never forgive myself i mean i would get an FPGA at this price and call it a day and even that is too much for a bunch of 8 and 16 bit console However i won't judge anyone duo to i've seen worst people spending on way way worst stuff so, 150 on a crappy NES is the least of them Sorry if i've been so harsh but, that was just the truth
@@_BELMONT_Not with a converter as it uses a special pin layout that those crappy converters do NOT support. You need a retro freak converter or need to solder pins together with bridges for it to work.

Is this the lava kit ? It’s sold out on AliExpress link
Hi Ron, I bought the RGB modded Nintendo from your link. Can you tell me where I can buy the HDMI adapter you are using in the video?
This doesn't look too bad. I'd consider it if I didn't already have an A/V Famicom with a NES RGB installed in it already.
Very cool! Awesome video
Does the device work with the wii component, and if so, are the results any good?
Did you happen to see they are selling the kits separate for Famicom and NES?

2 new N64 games shadow dropped on the NSO, Turok 2 and Shadow Man
Where did you get the cartridge converter? I’ve been looking for one that lets you play NES on Famicom, but I’ve only found the opposite.

I used my Sega Mega Drive European power supply with the Famicom AV. The Genesis one could work too.

@@_BELMONT_ european megadrive has center negative polarity like most japanese systems do. it is a perfect match.
I dont recognize that port on the right, almost looks like a serial port? What function does that port serve?
It looks like either European SCART or Japanese RGB21 port. ... since this is Famicom it should be Japanese one.
That's the expansion port for peripherals. It was included in all versions of the famicom.

That won’t play Castlevania 3, if that’s a title you have to be able to play on your system you’ll want to buy a modded nes.
it will play Castlevania 3 just fine. Av famicom is region free bro
