Hey Charles/ or anyone, really in need of a good opinion here 😕. Bought a 2010 vw scirocco (I know you guys don’t really have this car on the states but it’s has the famous 2.0 l TSI engine) and the car Is showing a few problems.. mainly the following: - When on idle you can feel a slight vibration / burp / jerk coming from the engine, rpm stay steady and I’ve checked channels 15/16 for misfires with OBDeleven and there is none at the time these vibrations happen. This is just annoying because you can clearly feel it when stoped but the engine doesn’t seem affected by it - it only has the code p0420, after one of the injectors got stuck open and replaced. - it has a misfire every now and then (very rarely) on cylinders 2, 3 & 4. No codes present on OBDeleven. Took the car to my local Vag specialist and because he saw those cylinder misfire once in a 20 min test he now wants to rebuild the entire engine! I suggested a carbon cleanup as the car has 113000 uk miles but the guy said that’s stupid and that doesn’t do anything. He said the the car needs new intake / exhaust valves, and might have cracked pistons... the car rides beautifully apart from the problems mentioned above. What baffles me is the fact that he plugged vcds to the car and 20 min later called me saying this! Didn’t even open the engine bay! And refused to fix one other issue I have on the suspension until the engine is rebuilt Do you agree with his diagnosis?
No, bring it to another specialist. Do the maintenance first. Change all fluids, spark plugs, diagnose coil packs, and check your fuel nozzles, low pressure fuel pump because their performance is prone to degrade with time, they might need cleaning or replacement. If problem persists, check the vacuum system, vacuum system is prone to fail on this engines and ecu cannot detect that issue. Also, throttle body might need cleaning and calibration. Carbon build up on valves can also cause problems, you should clean it too. Or your engine burns a lot of oil and that's why mechanic wants to rebuild it. You have a gen 2 engine and it is prone to burn a lot of oil, but vw made a recall and your engine maybe fitted with newer generation pistons to solve the issue. But if it still drives beautifully you don't need to rebuild it asap.
@@Ibrag91 thank you for your response! Because I bought the car with high mileage and I knew the mechanic that fixed the fuel injector problem had to take the intake manifold off to doit I actually requested that all 4 injectors got changed instead of just the one, so that’s that, also requested 4 new spark plugs... Only things left are coils and regular maintenance then.. will have a look at that ASAP

However on live data the 2 front abs speed sensors say error on air gap. The rear two however read 7mm... not sure if this could cause these issues. The reverse is sometimes fine . I have a engine code, it’s P2294, so that means that there’s a problem with my fuel pressure regulator attached to my high pressure fuel pump, but the regulator is brand new so I don’t know what to do
I brought in my 2018 Sequoia to a Toyota dealership. I was experiencing electrical issues. The windows, the radio and the shifter were not working. Finally they discovered it was a couple of blown fuses & missing fuse. Did I get scammed?
Do you think you could do a video going through changing the settings in VCDS and either disabling ESP or flipping the functionality of the ESP button (press dash button to turn on instead of off. If you can figure this one out I think you would be the first). This is probably the single most annoying "feature" on the R32 having the press the button every time I drive my car, forgetting then the throttle cutting any time there is wheel slip. This is probably going to be something you're doing to the Black car eventually with higher HP and track use it will be a big annoyance not to. Hey Charles. I've got a 2.8L V6 rally car. Recently the dash mounted Autotechnica oil pressure gauge (electronic measurement) has been erratic - often showing no oil pressure at all (when the engine is hot) which is alarming. What is your experience?
Why single mass flywheel? Is it a track only car? The dual mass is used for higher power engines, because they, you know, have more power (more vibrations, jerking,...).
