Gone are the days when lyrics were encouraging and awe inspiring, when music beheld an enlightening gift for the spirit and soul. They DON'T write'm or sing'em like this anymore! I MISS those days so much!
Yes it's true Gladys Knight is a great cook. She wrote a cookbook entitled "At Home with Gladys Knight." She doesn't have diabetes, but her mother Elizabeth died of complications in 1998 after living successfully with diabetes for 40 years. Following her mother's death, Gladys started the Elizabeth Knight Fund with the American Diabetes Association to help people living with diabetes. Gladys has also been eating healthy and exercising regularly for many years 🥰❤️.
On my all-time Top 20 Songs list. Even after all these years it still makes me emotional when I hear it because I lived it. A universal message that is personal at the same time. A+
They've already responded to that song. I remember Asia saying nobody should ever make a copy of it the way Gladys sang that song, and BJ saying he had no words, he was speechless after hearing Gladys sing that song, check it out.
Wait Until You Hear "I Don't Want To Do Wrong,The Makings Of You & You're Number One (In My Book) Their entire catalog is amazing 💯🔥🔥🔥🔥 Happy Holidays Guys 🙏🏿🙏🏿
I have watched several of your reactions to Old School R&B artists like Gladys Knight & the Pips, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, James Brown, and the like, and I appreciate you for sharing them. Like Aretha, you feel everything Gladys is singing about. Fun facts: Gladys was 26 and the mother of two children at the time this song was released in 1970. This group was that rare breed that had a female lead singer (Gladys) with male backup singers (her brother Merald and her cousins, Bill Patten and Bill Guest). Indeed, the Pips provided spot-on harmony and choreography. If you haven't already done so, check out their appearances on Soul Train. Hat tip to the Empress of Soul and thank you for wonderful content!
Great reaction guys! Just can't go wrong with Gladys Knight and the Pips. Gladys was around 26 when they recorded this song. And yes, her voice has aged like fine wine. Ya'll should check out their song Every Beat of My Heart which was recorded in 61 when she was about 16. She sounded like a grown ass woman even then. And BJ, you talking about how Gladys must be a great cook because she's a great singer and Asia looking at you like "what?" just crack me up😂 Ya'll are the best! Love you guys!❤
Asia & BJ, I saw Gladys and the Pips in Houston TX in the round and she was AMAZING. 1991ish. They really don't build them like that anymore. You could tell they started together as kids and in the church. Super Evident. Her , Tina and Patti L. have gotten better every year. Like Wine, yes. They move less, but they SANG. Some of their best work was with or around LUTHER!!!! I appreciate ya'll and enjoy your reactions. I wanted to put you up on some game. I heard you say you really like music, blue eyed soul...I have 5 words for you. Darryl's House Rumer, Sara Smile. You will freakin love Darryl's house! I Guarantee. I have 3 hour concerts in my bedroom with Darryl's House Ojays, Rumer, Lisa Loeb...You will see and you will thank me, for sure. My people call me DJ. Enjoy and Love Ya'll
Gladys got overrun by diana ross and then donna summer. But Gladys could sing. But for her, " talent wasnt enough." She didnt play the dirty games and the Pips protected her. The Pips were 🔥 too. Nice reaction. I bet you can cook too Asia.
There have been so so many great female singers that i like, but Gladys Knight has been in my top 10 for many years. She has such power and range. I also feel she is underrated. When you hear her do her solo bit on " That's What Fiends Are For ", she knocks it out of the park. Check out " I Don't Wanna Do Wrong ".
Gladys had it. I think I've heard her say she wasn't greatly promoted by Motown. She certainly deserved to be. (I got a chuckle when Denzel's character said he was a Pip in "The Equalizer".)
Love Gladys! Please checkout Gladys Knight doing, “I Heard It Through The Grapevine “. She recorded it first, then the next year Marvin Gaye recorded it and it hit the big time! I’ve always loved Gladys Knights version. Please check it out if you haven’t already 😉😁
Hey, we know how much Asia loves George Michael and so you really should watch him do a live performance of this Gladys Knight song and I believe it was that Nelson Mandela‘s birthday party concert that they threw at Wembley in London. He had just had some throat surgery, but he still sounds really good doing this song
Just because she had you hungering for a mouthful of soul food don't necessarily make her a good cook. But I get your point, Please check out "Neither One of Us" LIVE. It will have you in a food coma. Either the video from Soul Train or The Midnight Special. Thanks to you guys for what you do!!!
She's my dream girlfriend, wife, soulmate. Only two celebrities I would want to marry - Gladys and Audrey. But, Audrey is too frail. Glady is/was full-bodies hug whereas Audrey was too frail to embrace with vigor. I'm an old white boy from the south and BJ, you talking about the oxtail, the fried chicken, the beans and cornbread, .....we needed to grow up in the same neighborhood. We'd had hit it off great. And your humor...lol, you two should do a television show. Start a sketch show for us all. You two rock!! Oh yes, the Pips were a vital group of voices and spirits in our lives. G without the P - well, you know...she's been out there in her old age without them and it is NOT the same vibe. It's like watching "Good Times' without JJ. Or M.A.S.H. without Hawkeye. Or, 'Happy Days' without the Fonz. It can be done, but, at a great loss. I will go to my grave loving the music of my youth. Such diversity. Such talent. Such love. I really really love you all's reactions. You two are fun, fabs, and friendly. Asia, girl, is that you singing the intro? If so, gal give me some links to your music. 🙂 Peace out kids. -eric
As always your reaction video is the best, thanks😊🙏 Would you please react to "like a tattoo" by Sade live from San Diego? It's been a long time you haven't reacted to Sade, we need a new one please
Gladys is one of the most iconic singers
I adore this woman beyond words ~ ♥♥ her singing just gives me chills everywhere !!
As always, you can't go wrong with the incomparable Gladys Knight. 💓
Gone are the days when lyrics were encouraging and awe inspiring, when music beheld an enlightening gift for the spirit and soul. They DON'T write'm or sing'em like this anymore! I MISS those days so much!

Neither one of us, wants to be the first to say goodbye. Check it out, beautiful song
They've already responded to that song. I remember Asia saying nobody should ever make a copy of it the way Gladys sang that song, and BJ saying he had no words, he was speechless after hearing Gladys sing that song, check it out.
@ I will
@ you are correct, I looked back and not only had I already seen it, but I liked and commented as well😂😂
You can hear the hurt in her voice! It's like she lived this!
Wait Until You Hear "I Don't Want To Do Wrong,The Makings Of You & You're Number One (In My Book) Their entire catalog is amazing 💯🔥🔥🔥🔥 Happy Holidays Guys 🙏🏿🙏🏿
Great voice from back in the day. Haven't heard this one in a minute. Thanks! If she was my woman, I'd love her Pips

Hi Guys check out Gladys Knight singing YOUR THE BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPEND TO ME its an absolute classic song that is so good.
Asia & BJ,
I saw Gladys and the Pips in Houston TX in the round and she was AMAZING. 1991ish. They really don't build them like that anymore. You could tell they started together as kids and in the church. Super Evident. Her , Tina and Patti L. have gotten better every year. Like Wine, yes. They move less, but they SANG. Some of their best work was with or around LUTHER!!!!

"The Makings of You" (a Curtis Mayfield song) and her James Bond theme "License to Kill" are so good too.
Saw her in concert back in the day and she did not disappoint.
Gladys makes me melt like wax at the first measure of every song! She is an incredibly powerhouse!!!
Gladys got overrun by diana ross and then donna summer. But Gladys could sing. But for her, " talent wasnt enough." She didnt play the dirty games and the Pips protected her. The Pips were 🔥 too. Nice reaction. I bet you can cook too Asia.
This was 1970 so she was quite young.. and her voice just got better with time!😊❤
Music for the soul ❤

Great song and Gladys could sing. I like the thought of the song. Don't allow yourself to be taken advantage of, there's greener pastures if you look.
Ahhhh beautiful smiling Gladys. No words left or needed ❤❤
She initially didn't want to sing this. Barry Gordy had to convince her
Such a classic song! Gladys has such an amazing voice.
❤love love love❤
The greatest voice of all time
I saw her in concert twice in the seventies. Amazing live!!!
Still 🔥🔥🔥🔥💯 after all these Years!
Ms. Gladys Knight one of the BEST
I luvs me some Gladys Knight.
Have either of you heard," Neither One of Us"?? Another Gladys Knight gem !!
My favorite song of theirs. Thanks for reacting!
Hey that's great! When ever y'all can! Be looking forward to it!
As us older folks say, Miss Gladys can BLOW
Gladys is the the sh*t!! The other Gladys I know is from the Marvelettes, who I absolutely adore.
Gladys had it. I think I've heard her say she wasn't greatly promoted by Motown. She certainly deserved to be.
(I got a chuckle when Denzel's character said he was a Pip in "The Equalizer".)
Great memories from this one! ❤

The Empress of Soul
Try "Just Be My Lover"....🎶💗🎶🎶
Bj must of ate a lot at Thanksgiving, still has food on his mind 😅
This woman has an incredibly fantastic voice
Gladys Knight was in her early 20s when she recorded this song.
Today’s singers are so over the top. This is how you sing a song
Gladys is, The Standard……….❤❤
They need to do Epica "Sancta Terra" featuring Floor Jansen.
She's my dream girlfriend, wife, soulmate. Only two celebrities I would want to marry - Gladys and Audrey. But, Audrey is too frail. Glady is/was full-bodies hug whereas Audrey was too frail to embrace with vigor.

I take it. Your favorite band is Journey.
I love this old shiat.
Gladys Knight, is a diva !!
You need to react to The Commitments movie. I think BJ would love it.
I just found your page, I'm a lil confused what do you mean by FIRST TIME HEARING, how old are you two and where are you from.?
You guys need to do howard jones
As always your reaction video is the best, thanks😊🙏
Would you please react to "like a tattoo" by Sade live from San Diego? It's been a long time you haven't reacted to Sade, we need a new one please
classy, heartfelt soul. the thing i like about this song is that if you change the pronouns, it works just as well if a man sings it.
Check out George Michael doing a cover of this. If you were my woman
George Michael did a cover of this if you were my woman, was good, but nothing like the original
Hi will it be awhile before y'all react too Ferlin Husky ( Wings of a Dove )? It's an old live black and white video version from the Grand Ole Oprey.
