It's always so fun to see young people discover amazing old music. Gladys Knight and the Pips, the Supremes, the Temptations, Smoky Robinson and the Miracles, the Four Tops, Marvin Gaye.....all truly remarkable performers.

Every thing this amazing woman ever sang came straight from her heart. She saved my life so many times, when I really didn't want to keep breathing . She always had a song that kept giving me a reason to to keep fighting for my life. I wish someday I could have the chance to tell her thank you for helping me live

Mel,,you are so wise about love,,, I've seen women treat men like kings,, and the man ignores her and treats her like dirt, or abuse her, it's so sad,the wrong people end up with each other, sometimes ,you two are very blessed to have each other,,I can tell you both share the same undying passionate love for each other,,you two have made a grieving man smile,, and that's not easy, thank you both,,,🙂

Soul with a side of classy makes for a musical experience. The overarching theme is a timeless truth. I loved one who couldn't/wouldn't return my affection & I ended up acting silly trying to earn his affection until I turned to another in grief. So, he got what he deserved.

There's a reason that Gladys Knight was known as the Empress of Soul. She, her brother, and her cousins reach inside you and make you feel it. I was in college when this song was released in 1970, and it is one of my favorites from her. I've waited a long time for you to react to this song, and your reaction was priceless. The love you have for each other is beautiful.
You have reacted to many great songs on your channel; that being said, I invite to you check out the late great Nancy Wilson's signature song, "Guess Who I Saw Today." In the meantime, here's a hat tip to you for wonderful content and sharing the love!

OK so I was born in 1956 and in the 70s I was in my teens late teens early 20s. I love listening to your younger people talk about the music that was playing in the late 50s 60s 70s even 80s because there’s some thing that’s really lacking in today’s music and I want you to know don’t be sorry for us. You see, you guys see us walking now we have a cane, our hair is gray our backs are humped, we are using a walker or maybe in a wheelchair. But, I think we all need you to know that we had Romance. We had sensuality. The songs that man sang were mostly about loving a woman loving her wanting her needing her. So of course we girls felt loved needed and wanted. We were also the beginning of the woman’s freedom movement because we weren’t dumb we recognize that some relationships did go wrong and that sometimes we were being taken advantage of if not actually abused you know we were sometimes not valued and so you have someone like Lesley Gore singing you don’t own me. There were so many other songs so many wonderful individual singers and groups. If you listen to these songs you will understand better what our ideals were. It will close a big gap because you will see we were the start.
