I am SOOOOOO proud of you. Most people react to the edited version... this is the LP version with the extra sauce. That extra part between 4:34 and 5:17 is something special. Well done, Ashley!
Marvin is the master. You almost have to put on protection to listen to this song. It reminds me of an episode of King of Queens where the main guy's friend played it every time he got busy with his wife.
“Let’s Get it On” was inducted into the GRAMMY HALL OF FAME in 2004. Marvin Gaye is Music 🎶 Royalty! He won a Grammy for “Sexual Healing” in 1982. The New York Times described him as an influential force in music. There will NOT be another singer like him. He is up there among the Greatest singers of all time! Rest in Peace Marvin Gaye! 😎❤️ Excellent request😎👍🏽😎 and reaction from Ashley! 😎👍🏽❤️
This is a song to fall in love to.... With masterful singing, orchestration and of course the incomparable Funk Brothers on rhythm with notable the immortal and amazing James Jamerson on bass, hangin' behind the beat on the notes that nobody, I repeat NOBODY can equial.
HELL YEAH! MARVIN GAYE, THE PRINCE OF R&B! This man was truly ahead of his time, MUSICALLY! Listen to him doing his own background vocals and adlibs! This song is much more than an R&B CLASSIC, IT'S A RECORDING MASTERPIECE! And you can listen to PRINCE being inspired to do the same in his own MASTERPIECE, "ADORE!" This is what our music was made to do, INSPIRE! WELL DONE and GREAT SELECTION! ❤
I remember as a child seeing my mom and dad getting very handsy with each other every time this song was played. 🙈 Later as a teen I saw a video of him performing this song and sorta moving in a very suggestive manner. Marvin gave me my first Eve eats Apple moment.😍
Excellent Reaction...I was a sophomore in high school on a bus traveling to a basketball games when we heard Marvin was struck down....before we did the tip off we had a moment of silence and the school played "Mercy Mercy Me" over the loud speakers....
Dang, I would have thought this would have been the song that got you going... or maybe I should have said got you started. 😊 Now, "Brain Storm" This must be Heaven
the best love song about making love ever ... miss this guy, his father shot and killed him in 1984, this song was released in the summer of 1973... I was 16...What a wonderful decade
I was 11 years old when this song was released. When most kids are that age they know a song like this is talking about love but they don't know anything about how sensual this song is. It's a beautiful song even if you do not understand the lyrics. That's why a song like this keeps on giving because when you get older you understand what this song is about. I know you don't take reaction request in the comments but there is another song that was on the album with this song that I would love to see and hear your reaction. The song is Come Get To This. It is my favorite song on that album and that says a lot because that album has some all time bangers on it. I used to hear it on the radio and it was like a shot of adrenaline because of how it started as if someone just dropped the needle and it just took off. Just as fast as this song comes on it goes off just as fast. When I say needle I'm speaking of the stylus needle that is used when you play a record on a record player. Some people may say turntable, but we always called it a record player.
Just a tidbit, here, (let's get it on).Held the number 1# R&B spot for 6 consecutive weeks in 73 it was definitely an instant classic number 1# with a bullet. As they used to say, back in the day
Ashley baby girl you have to listen to Issac Hayes, Hyperbolicsysquedalamystic. Now don’t quote me on spelling. You will be bumping with the funk. Bass line and piano. Just put Isaac’s name in and Hyperbolic. Thank you😊😊
This is not the way the song was written there was some girls that came to the studio and Marvin saw they and changed some of the lyrics on the spot. That what we hear now.
Alright, alright Ashley!!! I fender tell it all !!! I am old school but back in the day the popular girl on the block, asked me for a CHANCE.(A Chance meant the wanted to be your girlfriend or boyfriend.) I said okay. We were 12 years old. My first kiss with her she pushed her toughe in my mouth. Ugh. She told me it's okay it's called a French 💋 kiss. I didn't know Shirley, but I've gotten better. Love this song Ashley ❤❤.
You should really listen to the entire album - start to finish, not a bad song and like "What's Going On" a sexy romantic masterpiece! That was some serious tongue biting too. This came out when I was 13 or 14, and even now as a 65 year old white guy from California - late 60s early 70s R&B is the sexiest most romantic music IMHO and it never gets old.
I am SOOOOOO proud of you. Most people react to the edited version... this is the LP version with the extra sauce. That extra part between 4:34 and 5:17 is something special. Well done, Ashley!
I love that Ashley has an old soul. She is the best at reacting to our music, which she's making hers.
Another Motown Masterpiece ❤
Senior in highschool, the basement parties, great times
Rest In Power to the Great Marvin Gaye!! This is an example of why if there is an R&B Mount Rushmore, HE'S On IT!!

Marvin wasn’t playing with-’em… had them in the real chokehold 😅
Mrs Ashley....Some of Us dont have to imagine listening to this when it first came out....We lived it. Basement parties were legendary. 😂😂😂
Yes we had some crooners back in the day. Teddy, Marvin, Luther and many more. It’s a shame how music went away from that.
Luther wasn't in the 70s
