🎧 Huckleberry Finn: • THE ADVENTURES OF HUCK...
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (published 1876) is a very well-known and popular story concerning American youth. Mark Twain's lively tale of the scrapes and adventures of boyhood is set in St. Petersburg, Missouri, where Tom Sawyer and his friend Huckleberry Finn have the kinds of adventures many boys can imagine: racing bugs during class, impressing girls, especially Becky Thatcher, with fights and stunts in the schoolyard, getting lost in a cave, and playing pirates on the Mississippi River.
One of the most famous incidents in the book describes how Tom persuades his friends to do a boring, hateful chore for him: whitewashing (i.e., painting) a fence. This was the first novel to be written on a typewriter. (summary adapted from wiki)

Thank you. I am 70 years old and Tom Sawyer was my favorite book as a young child. I have read this book many many times. Also I lived a Tom Sawyer type youth and I grew up on the Muskungum River in southeastern Ohio. What a rich and full adventure my life has been. Mark Twain would be mortified at the thought of schoolchildren being tested on their knowledge of his book. It was meant as light entertainment, he deliberately left out any attempt at moral instruction. He was roundly criticized for this at the time, but nothing ever changes. Schools will take the joy out of anything if they can.

Usually the Readers will say who they are- but not this fellow, and he is an AMAZING NARRATOR!! Wonderful tone of voice, fantastic change of voice for characters, and inflection and interpretation of how the characters would have sounded had they been there to speak for themselves: An overall enjoyable experience. I have never read this book (and I am a senior citizen) and am pleasantly surprised at how wonderful it is. I really enjoying listening to this creative and engaging story read by this expert reader. “Tom’s mental stomach never hungered for one of those prizes”....😂😂😂😂 My son would say, “it’s not that deep” to anything that remotely sounds like a task that attaches itself to some kind of generic reward. If he hears about that German born poor chap’s mental state following over stimulation while trying to file all those passages waiting to be recited just for a reward, he would take a week off his weekly reading just to feel angry about such circumstances.🤣🤣🤣 Our CRE teacher Mr Reuwel just caned us and gave us more memory verses on top of the previous that we had not learnt. He has died now and I know he misses class 4. All those poor victims of his that needed such whips to know God thru reciting verses in English that did not make no sense. If you are teacher here, please ask yourself why you teach before you ruin some kid’s life. 🧐 Anyway, Very inspired reader. Thanks

The guy reading the book did an excellent job of portraying the sarcasm and matter of fact way that Twain wrote the best parts, without overdoing it. The matter of fact explanations of why Tom thinks the way he does is the most interesting parts and he pulls the portrayal of that off perfectly, very well read!

Thank you John Greenman, im here after watching an episode of everybody loves Ray, his mother Marie was helping Raymond with homework for her grandchildren when Raymond tells Marie he's never read Tom Sawyer, she's in disbelief an screams at him about it being an American classic it certainly took me back to school i haven't heard anything about good old Tom Sawyer, Huckleberry Finn, in a very long time i found this video and started to listen im actually very impressed with the audio and of course your voice is absolutely wonderful compared to several others who certainly don't come close to it is definitely my favorite im going to be listening to this entire classic and enjoying every moment of it. I want to thank you again and let you know it's very much appreciated .

I wish these had been available back when I was in school. I didn't know I had ADHD, but it's obvious to me now. Hearing the story is so much easier and more enjoyable. I'm not one of those who praise reading as if it is the best way to learn. Learning in a way that suits your brain is ideal.

I'm astonished at the comments below! Boring? "Tom Sawyer"? I read it at the age of 10. That has always been one of the children's favourites of all the time in our country! I don't think that it's due to the Russian translation. Mark Twain's original is adorable although I'm far not 10 any more. THANK YOU for tha audiobook!)))

This was my first Talking Book , and Id like to thank the reader for making it such a great experience , with his adept skills in voice tone , switching between characters and engaging his listeners without over dramatising it. Ive never read any of Mark Twain's work , and I love how it can reach both child and adult audiences . Great elements of sataire and social observation. Its a sad but honest reflection of some of the prejudice of the age evident in some of its language . Im sure this has been widely debated. It took me back to some of my own childhood reading which included Richmal Crompton's William books. Many Thanks. R

I LOVE hanging out with my grandchildren! 😁
Sometimes at night we lie on the bed in the dark room with a torch 🔦
