Fabulous reading! It's as if Mark Twain wrote this masterpiece to be read out loud. Thank you very much Mr. Smith for the reading and for making this book so alive
I cannot help but writing this, thank you the recorder of this book for reading all this long story with your full heart and having nice adventures with them and us. I’m studying English literature in Korea, and 2 years ago, I gave up reading this book bc I thought the amount of this story is too much for me and I wouldn’t be able to read it all. But with your recordings, I finally finished this book within 2 weeks. I appreciate your hard works. I really paid attention to your voice while reading it through, so when the story finally came to the end, I felt your voice got a little bit excited when you say “Chapter the last.” Haha! I was exited when I read that phrase, too. It was nice time to read Huck Finn’s adventure with you. Thank you for your dedication again, I wont forget this story in my life. Thank you.
Reading along with the audio book is a GREAT way to absorb information! It engages 3 senses, (hearing, sight, and tactile) instead of just 1 or 2. This system is a fantastic way to learn, unfortunately most people use audio books as a full stop alternative to actually reading (actually reading a text engages both sight and tactile (holding a book in ur hands and turning pages) senses.).
Huckleberry Finn is one of my great literary loves. I read it for the first time when I was about 12 years old and have read it many times ever since. At the age of 44, I just got through reading it aloud to my 12 year old daughter and she loved it too. I’m listening to your reading to put myself to sleep tonight. You gave Huck the same voice I’ve always heard in my head, soft spoken, sweetly southern, and wise beyond his years. It’s like listening to a beloved friend tell me a bedtime story. Thank you for this.

Just finished this beautifully read (and written) masterpiece. Were the author alive today, he would not have included such a deluge of offensive terms, I would hope, but would instead mine the lexicon for ameliorative terms, since it was nearly always the case that the term was referring to people who were helping the narrator or others. I wonder if Mr. Clemens ever knew, or knew of, Jim Beckwourth, who was a gifted and clever individual whose father, Sir Jennings Beckwith, had freed legally more than once. They lived in the area at the time, and the painter, James Carroll Beckwith, a cousin to Jim, lived in Hannibal and Elmira, NY, and also painted Twain's portrait at least twice. Anyway, thanks for the great adventure. Loved your Carolina mellifluousness.
