I met Paul Lynde and got his autograph (which I still have) in 1979 when I ran into him at LAX one day. I had just started working at the airport and didn't really have anything appropriate for him to autograph, so I had him sign my new employee handbook. Better than nothing. He even wrote '79 to document the year. Very nice man and talented actor.
Thanks Jordan for paying tribute to Paul Lynde. Loved his comedic timing and witty delivery. Glad they buried him with the rest of his family. Love to you, Jah and your family. ❤️🙏🏻🐕🦺🌹
Paul Lynde that famous voice and his classic pose , that crooked smile and his way with words always got my attention. Thanks.for sharing his story Jordan he was a fun actor who still makes me laugh to this day .
I loved watching Hollywood Squares just so I could see him. He was so funny and he was from my home state of Ohio. Thanks for informative story about him and his family.
Paul Lynde was why everyone watched Hollywood Squares! Loved him as Uncle Arthur on Bewitched and even his short lived Paul Lynde Show of the early 1970s. He was truly unique and fun loving - he died too young. Thanks Jordan- this made me laugh thinking of some of his antics with Sam and Darrin and the remarkable Endora! 😊❤️☀️🌴🦩☺️
Paul made such a huge impact on television for many years. I am sorry for the struggles he had to go through and overcome. Thank you for the vlog and paying respects to him, Jordan.
I love Paul in bewitched one of my favorite shows growing up! He made uncle Arthur so talented ad funny! I miss him thank for doing this blog. Happy Thanksgiving and many blessings to you and your family!
I remember seeing Paul Lynde on Hollywood Squares and thought he was so funny. It's is amazing to learn how sad his real life was. Thanks for a great vlog Jordan.
Paul Lynde had such a unique voice, I loved him on Hollywood Squares. How sad that he lost his brother (when he was found to be gone), then his Mom and Dad. It is so sad about his self-doubt, no confidence, he seemed to tackle that his whole life. We never know what is going on to others, until too late, most of the time. RIP Paul Lynde
I always loved Paul's sense of humor. He was from my home state of Ohio. I remember when I was very young, I had read in the news paper that Paul was visiting in Ohio and was pulled over for speeding. The police officer walked over to his vehicle and Paul rolled his window down and then said to the Police officer...I'll take a cheese burger, Coke, and fries! LoL! I'm sure the Police officer wasn't amused? 😁
When I was a kid growing up in Scotland, my family loved watching Bewitched, and Paul played such a great part in this. Loved your v/log Jordan , the way you praise Paul for his work. (from next to Mount Vernon in Scotland. )
As a kid growing up in the 70's Paul Lynde seemed to be on tv all the time. He was the Center Square of course and always had the best lines and as well was in Bewitched reruns and I even remember watching him on Love American Style around 1973 or so. The man brought endless laughs to us kids.
A great salute to a gentleman whose presence on the television screen was instantly recognizable and always welcome. Looking forward to the next vlog. Many thanks Jordan.
This is brilliant you wearing a Kiss t shirt. The Paul Lynde Halloween 🎃 Special is Pure Magic with them on it. "Why don't you Kiss & Make Up!" Was a brilliant joke Paul used on there scenes together.
As usual, Jordan. Well Done, I always thought Paul was Funny. Sad to hear he had struggles. When I was a kid I would watch Hollywood Squares with me Mom. Paul really made that show Great. :)
I am always amazed by how much research you do for your videos. It's literally like watching a mini documentary. A lot of information in a small amount of time.
Jordan, you are such a wonderful storyteller! I have learned so much celebrity trivia from you over the last few years. Thanks for all your enjoyable and informative vlogs!!
Hi Jordan, I used to love 'Bewitched', and he was fabulous as 'Uncle Arthur'. I always thought they could have used him a bit more on that show. I hate it when you hear people have died on their own, I think everyone should have someone around them when they pass over. Great vlog Jordan.
He was one of my favorite actors and comedians. I was just teenager and a big fan of his back in the 70s. I was heartbroken when he passed. The story I remember of his death was different. The story was that he was found dead on his sofa. The cause of death was undetermined. It was also stated that it could have possibly been from drugs or alcohol. Those were probably just Hollywood sensationalism stories to shock the public. But I also read a story he could have been murdered. I’m more inclined to believe the heart attack in bed version.
Cordy's date of death was listed November 9, 1944. The Battle of the Bulge began Dec 15, 1944. He likely got killed in the attack on Metz that General Patton launched earlier that Fall. My Dad was in the 4th Armored Division and said that The Battles of Metz and Nancey were as bad as, or worse than the Bulge. Such brave men saved our way of life.
Bewitched was one of my favorite shows, and Paul Lynda was one of the reasons. I was a young gay child, and I thought he was hilarious. When I got older, and started going to the one gay bar in my hometown, they would talk about how Paul would come there and sometimes be very mean to the patrons. I didn’t care, he was human like everyone else. Rest In Peace Paul Lynne, and thank you for all the laughs. Even today. PS: You are looking very good Jordan. Keep up the great work.
One of my absolute favourite vlogs. First saw Paul Lynde on re-runs of Bewitched in the UK, and knew his voice from various cartoons too. Looking forward to part two.
This video got my attention because a good friend of mine was Homecoming Queen at Northwestern in the late 70's and she told me that Paul Lynde crowned her. I never realized that he was an alumn there and always wondered why he was the one that was there for the ceremony. I just assumed that he may have been a guest for the Homecoming festivities Unfortunately my friend is gone now so I can not ask her, so I am glad that I watched this Bio, and found out why he was there.
I always wondered what happened to Paul Lynde and now I know, thanks to you, Jordan. Thanks for providing everyone with a good biography as well, as you always do. 🙂
Bewitched is one of my favorite all-time TV show he was a big part of it he can make me laugh when nobody else could one of the best ever I miss him keep on having fun and be safe my friend all my best Ramon
I watched a lot of Paul Lynde one of thing I found that was funny is when he did an episode of Bewitch he sat on her couch and said my feet are killing him and the camera went down to his feet, and there where two pistols shooting at him,. If you watch that episode that was funny. And another thing he was on Hollywood Squares. He was on many other shows he was pure fun to watch.
My cousin Beverly M. dated Paul whenever he came to Ohio. My cousin was head-over-heels infatuated (and eccentric)with all things Paul Lynde! Whatever year they started dating - she saved that year in quarters - those were “Paul Lynde quarters” and not allowed to be spent. Whenever they went out to eat, she saved the napkin, tableware (when she could)and scraps of food he didn’t eat (i.e. chicken bones),the menu and made a “mini-museum” in her home of all things Paul Lynde including pictures of the two together. Beverly was a second grade teacher and one year she had Paul autograph a stack of pictures of himself and she handed them out to each of her students. Just to make sure she never missed him when he’d be in Ohio, Beverly had moved to Mount Vernon and lived down from his sister. At some point when Paul had his own TV cartoon show ( I believe it was short lived?) he was depicted with a house (or outdoor?)cat - the cat’s name….? Beverly! 😅 I’m curiously anxious to find out whether the museum in Mt. Vernon in your Part 2 has any of Beverly’s contents in it…?
Jordan Wonderful vlog Paul Lynde He made me laugh watching Bewitched he would make me laugh out loud such a wonderful actor and when he was" Templeton "the rat so Cool here we go again the song in my head of him "singing at the fair" Lol can see his sneaky smile Thank you Jordan for Remembering such an Amazing Human Being & Actor May he RIP
I could always hear that distinctive voice he had. I remember he also did the voice of Templeton on the original Charlotte's Web. I also used to love watching Hollywood Squares. There were quite a few homosexuals in the entertainment industry, but they were so immensely popular and talented, even if people found out I didn't think it would've made a lot of difference. These days, too many people want to make it a big deal like it's a part of their talent. When you flaunt it too much, it just turns me off. I personally don't care.
Did you know Jordan that right next door in the town of Fredericktown is Luke Perrys home town !!! Ac tually Ohio is full of famous people, 5 US Presidents, from Dean Martin to John Holmes and everyone in between!!
Paul will always be one of my favorite people. I loved his wit and sarcasm since I was a kid. Such a funny man with a great laugh.I just knew everytime he walked into a room the show was going to get even funnier! Love You always Paul! Really miss you. I really enjoy hearing about these talented people and the background that gives a look into their lives.Alot of us can't get there but you make it possible.Thank You so much for doing this for us!
Ann-Margret in Bye Bye Birdie is my favorite thing about the film! (Sorry Paul.) It's the way they destroyed the script that irks me. Glad he was retained as Mr. McAfee tho he owns that role. This was great Jordan! Thanks.
The Paul Lynde show was totally underrated and should have been a much bigger hit.
I met Paul Lynde and got his autograph (which I still have) in 1979 when I ran into him at LAX one day. Peter Marshall, Paul, when a man falls overboard, you yell man overboard, what do you yell when a woman falls overboard? Paul, full speed ahead!!
I loved Paul on Hollywood Squares. He was so funny. I hope he rests in peace. Thanks for telling his story, Take care.
