You know, the only problem i see with this sytem is if you ever need to replace one pipe of fitting somewhere... 🤔 Now you're completely locked into a Pandoras box. With soldering, you can simply heat, removed, clean, and resolder the new pieces in, and keep to the true measurements.
Any fitter worth their salt can cut a line and repipe in 15min or less with 2-3 press fittings. I do it constantly. There’s always a way. They make slip couplings for any other scenario……
@@AD-HVAC you just stated in another comment how extra couplings looks ugly 🤔 But now it's fine with this system just because there's no other option? So what if a customer doesn't like the look of adding extra couplings and just wants a straight, full length to replace between two fittings?
Haven’t had that issue yet. But thanks for the heads up. You can also run ridgid heads on the Milwaukee we run their close quarters heads on our Milwaukee presses
Sure, but years down the road of a pinhole leak occurs in one pipe... Now what? With solder you just heat, remove, clean and replace/resolder without losing any of the correct dimensions. With this you have to cut and lose dimensions this most likely installing couplers as a patch to make up for loss in lengths, Seems like more work, and more costly to the customer in the end, and an ugly patchwork as a result.
@@warthogA10I’ve seen a 24” piece of copper with 4 couplings soldered in. There is nothing uglier. Press fittings have a refined look to them once installed. They’re never going away.

How expensive would it be to install copper into a home but all joints are press? It should cost the same or less because this can get done way quicker than having to solder every joint?
LMAO! Pro press fittings are expensive! They're good for repairs only. Only a complete fool would plumb his house with pro press! Copper soldering is 1000 times better and much much cheaper too.
@@daddy1571 By now pro press is a proven system. Although soldering is a skill that a plumber should know in case of repairs Pro press in combination with pipe bending is the cheaper option because the time saving .
@@Mvp76 Absolutely. I've used it instead of soldering many times because you save time and don't have to worry about a negligible amount of water making it hard to solder.
Only if you're passing the $6+ a fitting onto the customers bill. Shit adds up quick. Plus the amount of times I've watched the fitting press unevenly causing the pipe to tweak to one side. I've found a couple of propress fittings that I've had to replace. Cut them open and found that the o-rings dry rotted. I don't think it's a good idea. But my voice isn't pulling them off the shelves. So what can you do.
Fun fact, propress fitting don’t actually need the o-rings to be water tight. They are there in case someone hits and bends the pipes really hard to add a bit more of a seal. You could take the o-rings out and press and they won’t leak.

Most fellas say that the O rings leak. I’ve used Propress and think they’re fine. Have you ever had any issues with leaks over time?

Not so much now, it's 10-20 years down the line. Be interesting to see how long the rubber lasts
I’ll take press over sharkbite or pex any day. I still support knowing how to solder……but man, this thing is a time saver.

I think maybe depending on the quality of rubber the gaskets can last a very long time. Just look at how long some Toyota gaskets last.

It's a huge investment at first, hopefully it makes you some money.

How much PSI can those lines handle after the job ?

I prefer the ridged for the way it operates, I have both. But the pinch is created by all tools. I have rented other tools in the past.
Because it has new jaws
can you just heat those back off to save pipe or basically have to throw all of that away for a leak?
There's rarely a leak and if there is you can just empty out the water and solder or braze the joint to fix the leak.
@goblinsarereal4954 good luck with that
