I'm a OG so whatever engine was supposed to be in the a 283 put that back in there same way with the bench, with that being said it's your car so you can put what you like.
Hey Ryan It’s great that you’re saving the 59…I’m saving for a 59 project car. Keep us updated and to everyone… get those old cars back out and on the road.
I totally agree with you. If you were to keep it totally near original I would keep the 283 with bench. But the changes proposed kinda keep it in the realm of originality. Snapper.
@jeffsnapp3696 oh exactly its a cool idea and give thes impala like you said originality, you can always do the tri power 348 and buckets. And at the same time pull rebuild the 283, and reupholster the bench seat. That way all the orginal components are all set and ready for the car if it's sold down the line and the orginal stuff can still be offered.
Mr. B. Here ! 🍩🍩☕️☕️👀😎👍. I glad to see you save these vehicle . Ryan you need to build what you feel comfortable the bench should be comfortable, the buckets also should be comfortable. Build a car that you are proud of ! Best of luck, great video!
You remind me of my best friend from college back in the '68-'72 era. We became friends because I drove a '52 Plymouth and he drove a '48 Chevy. Iowa salt had eaten most of these cars by then; I think we had the oldest cars at the University of Dubuque. My seventh-grade teacher back in '62 drove a beautiful bronze '59 Impala with one of the Corvette engine options. So, what would I do for a seat? I'd probably try to sell those rare buckets to a Pontiac restorer and put the profits into the Impala. Any old seat will get you by for now. The rusted trunk lip and roof are not deal breakers, but hopefully you are skilled in fabrication or know someone who is. Just get it running, endless engine options are on the table. Looking forward to more vids, wish we were neighbors. It's great to see young people who appreciate old cars. Us old guys are rapidly rusting away....LOL
Finally got around to watching this series. Reminds me of what I wanted to do with the 60 LeSabre 2dr. hardtop. I hope some else can see my vision for those buicks. Looking forward to watching these.
I'm restoring a 1964 Chevelle coupe and my wife likes a bench seat best. It brings memories of her sitting next to me when we were dating. I would definitely go with the 348! Your car is really in good shape and I too always liked that style and year.
I would go with the buckets and 348. Also the way it is now is really nice you can always restore the outside later but you can never go back to how it is now! if it were me i would clean out the rust in the roof por15 it and use window epoxy to fill it. just make a really nice daily driver that will turn heads!
Excellent video Ryan :) also do votes on percent how like 283 or 348 V8 motor and Turbo 700SR 4speed Overdrive Automatic transmission with axle you like put to ! Then see happens after you explain myself say both motor are good ones and frame restoration be good to and seats buckets plus floor fix up too!
I think you'll find that all the cars now belong to Felix & your just the dedicated human that's allowed to play with them when he's not busy walking, sleeping on/in them or generally supervising your looking after his many daily requirements. As remember dogs have owners, cats have staff.
Unless your goal was to make this car 100% factory stock, I would go with the bucket seats. Because these cars are now so old and the costs of restoration so high, very few people now will be critical of a somewhat modified car, especially if you keep the body lines stock. I never have been a fan of a powerglide so a 700R4 is a great and widely accepted upgrade. Looking forward to seeing this car restored.
If you are intending to make this car a prized keeper, I would go all out, putting in the 348, the bucket seats, and any other repairs or desired upgrades on it to make it special, so it would hopefully be the first one you'd choose to drive just for the fun of it out of any in your fleet, whenever you have the chance.
Body off to do the sheet metal work? I was planning on leaving my body in place to do the floor pans, then take it off to finish the trunk, toe kick panel etc.
Keep the bench seat, Buy a 59 Pontiac for the buckets to go into. Those 2 Chargers are the most desirable of them all. I wanted a 68 when they were new. My Dad said no way to spending $3,800. I ended up with a 65 Chrysler Newport.
Hey, Ryan: Really like this 59 Impala project, along with the rare colour.I'm leaning to the 59 Pontiac buckets, looking good and period correct. Also, what would Felix do?
Every car built today has bucket seats so they are nothing special anymore. Put in the bench seat. It will be more comfortable and you can take a nap on it if/when you want to!
Nice car, just like mine. 😄Even the interior is similar, except my dash is not padded. Never seen a pink -59 Impala, can it be Roman Red/Snowcrest White, color code 923A/973D? Keep it stock! Greetings from Finland.
If the buckets were done in the 50's style they would make for a rare look. Otherwise it would make the "i had some random seats of '89 Ford put in not to seat on a fruit box" look. 12:20 - nooooo, RIP doorpanel 14:30 - Impala why did you scratch Ryan, he wants to help you
Brand new lt1, 4l80 trans 4 wheel disc, restored underside. Repair the rust and blend it in to match the rest of that beautiful crappy paint. Slammed on some bigger diameter steel wheels with caps. Original look but you can drive it anywhere.
Isn't the black impala a 348? Id say leave it a 283 with the bench. Preserve as much as you can to keep it from rusting further, restore the frame and running gear, do the interior and glass, and then drive it.
My car is in cuba and I am in the process of restoring it. The shop is almost done all the metal work. I'm looking for oem rear taillights preferably the whole assembly with trim if not just the inside part that houses the light bulbs, also I'm missing the trim piece on the middle of the trunk lid, the front grille, and hood latch, the turn signals that go in the front fenders the trim that goes in the gap under the hood, and the front window assembly (the small window that flips open and close).
I'd put the 348 in and keep the bench seats. Save those buckets for some convertible, that'd really set them off.
Factory , restoration worthy more
Do restoration body off body
Rotation
There car club you find parts
Re chrome bumper & pa n els !!!
Keep it all original stay with the bench seats 🇺🇲
I'm a OG so whatever engine was supposed to be in the a 283 put that back in there same way with the bench, with that being said it's your car so you can put what you like.
Hey Ryan
It’s great that you’re saving the 59…I’m saving for a 59 project car. Keep us updated and to everyone… get those old cars back out and on the road.
Bucket seats and the 348 Tri power would be beauty in that 59 Impala 👌🏻

Thanks man! See you in about a month :)

1959's are now 65 years old, wow!
Going to be a good project Ryan Definitely 348 and buckets
I’d go with the 348 and go with the bucket seats. It’s going to be a beautiful car regardless of what you do.
Nothing looks as good as fully restored
Worthy project and great cat!
348 sounds great with buckets guy
You have a lot of work to do on this one. I vote for installing the 348 along with bench seats.
Great car glad to see you working on it Ryan!
More to come!
Awesome! I was really looking forward to this series.
Hope you enjoy it! Itll be a long process for sure!
Nice rigs, not many here in Australia but the one's I've seen are immaculate, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
Looking forward to the progress.
Slowly but surely we will get there

Keep at it, love the 59 & 60's
Are you keeping this car? If yes, go with the buckets, you can always find or keep a bench around to switch out if you sell later.
Look forward to seeing this progress
Itll be a fun one!
Sweet Chevy man myself
I’d do the 348 and keep the bench seats. And do a full resto and repaint: chassis, inside and out to make sure it lasts another 65 years.
Think I would go with the buckets. Might consider putting a 4 speed in it. They came with 4speeds an the buckets would set it off.
Excellent video Ryan :) also do votes on percent how like 283 or 348 V8 motor and Turbo 700SR 4speed Overdrive Automatic transmission with axle you like put to ! Hahahah

Hey Ryan, I would go for the tri power and Pontiac bucket seats, seeing as you own more than one 59 Chevy! You know you want to!!
I do!
Bench seats for life
Try the buckets and 348 overdrive transmission 🎉🎉🎉😂 I want to see it finished 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for the story how you bought the car be safe
No problem 👍
Unless your goal was to make this car 100% factory stock, I would go with the bucket seats. The buckets themselves are worth about 6k, so itll enhance the value in my opinion also
I like the bucket idea to
Buckets and 348 tripower!!!!

Itll never be numbers matching 😄
Body off to do the sheet metal work? I was planning on leaving my body in place to do the floor pans, then take it off to finish the trunk, toe kick panel etc.
I wana redo the frame , my buddy has a rotisserie so it just makes sense
Keep the bench seat, Buy a 59 Pontiac for the buckets to go into. Those 2 Chargers are the most desirable of them all. I wanted a 68 when they were new. My Dad said no way to spending $3,800. I ended up with a 65 Chrysler Newport.
Bench seat 348 engine you might get a pontiac in the future that needs the bucket seats.
No LS swap! 348 gets my vote.

Really cool idea, would it have a console shifter ?
My opinion... Bucket seats and the 348 Tri power, doesn't get better than that!
For sure!
I would do the 348 with the bucket seats.

348 and Bucket seats
Hey, Ryan: Really like this 59 Impala project, along with the rare colour.I'm leaning to the 59 Pontiac buckets, looking good and period correct. Also, what would Felix do?
If the motor is not numbers matching. Do the bigger motor and the buckets!
