Talk about a flashback. I haven`t heard any Alan Parsons since the late 70`s early 80`s. Back then I was a metalhead with a closed mind to other music. This was my girlfriend`s favorite band and when I took her to see them in concert they blew me away. Opened my mind to appriciate all kinds of music.
@MrJacMac1986 No...the drummer/singer in the video is Steve Murphy, part of "Alan Parsons Live Project" although Alan has changed line up somewhere 2010/2011. The original singer on I Robot is Allan Clarke but one has to say that Steve Murphy does one hell of a job!
I agree with others here: great rock voice, which stays true to the original. One of my favourite "I Robot" songs too and "the Raven" is one of my favourite "Tales of..." songs. ;O)
Classic rock at it's best ! The brits really knew their stuff, hooked us all in the 70's. For those who don't know the music, just sit back and listen, let your mind go where they go. This is real progressive rock, listen to the professionalism, the passion to play the music note for note just like we remember the album. More progrock to listen to is Grand Funk Railroad (US) and Budgie (UK).
I love APP's current drummer, but this guy was amazing as well...and he was a great singer as well. His voice is much more masculine than the guys that are singing now and is much more like the voices that were in the original recordings. I miss that.
lowenbliss 1. correction eric woolfson breakdown lyrics, eric was the lyricist writer alan was behind the glass in the control room doing the engineering, eric and alan were brilliant collaborators, the mattter of who did what on albums is on the sleeves i'm sure it blurred on occasion and eric would give his opinion on things, as in any colaboration its a give and take senario
@MrJacMac1986 He sure sings with the same voice I heard in 1975 or '76, or lip syncs really good. :-) As best as I can remember the drummer was one of the main vocalists. They had a wide range of talent. That was one of the main attractions of this band. That and Alan P.'s part in Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon. Truthfully, I have always been a fan of music and I usually have a good general knowledge of the bands. But I never really went hardcore and tracked the detailed history of bands
@dreamerein Is the drummer singing in this video the original singer for this song on the studio performance? My fault I thought Lenny originally sang it.
This guy sounds like Freddie Mecury or possibly someone else like Hall and Oates or Foreigner. I like some of Alan Parsons songs and stuff but If you don't know who they are you could think thing song is being sung by some other famous rock group.
Best singing drummer I have ever seen!
and a real madrid supporter -
Yes, but.. Don Henley? Phil Collins ?
All great ❤😊
the first song, the drummer sounds just like the original song.
great stuff thanks.
great drummer with killer voice control, APP cannot be beat

I just can't stop watching this video. I can't help it.
I love this song, cuz I have brokedown. I really enjoy I Robot, one of my fav albums.

One of my favourite "I Robot" songs too and "the Raven" is one of my favourite "Tales of..." songs.
;O)
Never knew the drummer was the singer, great Rock and Roll voice. A couple of my fave early APP songs, and I also heard em on the Loop. Small World.
Steve Murphy rocks.
Goosebumps!!!
It sure does, how this music so I don't no who compose it or write it 🎶🎶
That drummer is bad ass. He is better then the lead singer
The Man here on Drums/Vocals is Steve Murphy
My fave from 1979 -1982 and more!

Alan's the acoustic guitarist/keyboardist. I think the drummer's Steve Murphy.
Wish Eric or Lenny would have made a surprise guest appearance
The Raven ist das geilste Lied von denen
find ich nich
ich find time besser
Led Zeppelin tribute at 2:19 (Heartbreaker riff) ;P

Es impresionante, y pensar que la mayor parte de los chicos de mi edad no lo concen (16...), es una pena
love "Raven". what's the guitar is geoffrey playing?
Que tal el riff alla Jimmy Page en el min 2:20?
Steve Murphy is Drums
Great talent there!
Yeah!!!
realy a nice sound, and i know a nice Cover from the Raven, mad by "die jungen Tenöre"
ima i feel the same way .
Why on earth couldn't the drummer's mic have been better positioned so he didn't have to have his head tilted up to sing? Very strange.
@dreamerein Is the drummer singing in this video the original singer for this song on the studio performance? My fault I thought Lenny originally sang it.
Communication Breakdown
protégé still good
I don't think so. Allan Clark would be a little older and I think he was a guitarist primarily. He was the vocalist with the Hollies.
@MrJacMac1986 You mean Lenny Z sounds a lot like Stuart Tosh
They skipped the first couple verses to The Raven. :(
Those verses are not from The Raven, they are from A Dream Within a Dream.
Who is the drummer please
Steve Murphy
This guy sounds like Freddie Mecury or possibly someone else like Hall and Oates or Foreigner. I like some of Alan Parsons songs and stuff but If you don't know who they are you could think thing song is being sung by some other famous rock group.
Where's the frickin' laser?
Si..
He sounds a little like Lenny Z
Bellissimo questo mix di Breakdown e The Raven! Pero' i 2 pezzi originali sono ancora meglio (cioe' 6 stelle invece che 5)
100% AWESOME! So original!
