This guys really did a great job with the head. It looked brand new, a port,polish job would make it nicer.

The thermostat housing is really constrictive on the Y8 when I port the main oil feed galley at the oil pump and in the oil filter housing I also port part of the block where the water pump sets to the tube and on the other side of the head port the thermostat housing coming from the tube. Just a few mm of opening these holes up changes the flow rate dramatically.

Clearly this guy got free head work. All the work they performed is standard work every machine shop does also happens to be the same work they perform on every cylinder head as well. But this guy was acting like they were performing magic tricks 🤣🤦

Overheating is such a pain in the ass. Some it I feel likes it's almost better to leave the heater core as a secondary radiator if you do encounter overheating issues. It could potentially save a head gasket job!

If you want that D16 to run good port and polish the head it will make a huge difference.

AY Bro.... Finally I've Found my Car's Issue..... it has a D16wa Engine and it starts rising up the Temperature on Highway right after 10 to 15 minutes on 3 to 4000 RPMs...

Hey, to forget to use a scotch break and clean the engine and marry this clean cylinder head to a clean engine

That's a horrible idea, as scotch brite will score the mating surfaces enough for catastrophic head gasket failure. This happened to Speed Academy's SR20 a year or two ago when they rebuilt the engine. They have a video showing their error and where/how it failed. You never scuff the mating surfaces for any reason whatsoever on any two pieces with metal to metal contact.

Hey buddy I really need some help cause I ended up doing the same thing to my 94 coup I also have a turbo but I have everything together I have a y8 motor with a z6 intake and injectors with the factory harness and computer I do believe
You should have got a bowl blend and polished the combustion chambers bro otherwise that's not really going to make any dramatic difference at all as you still have the same restrictions in the stock runner's

Did you checked the block for warping?
I put a straight edge on the top of the block and didn't see any obvious gaps

I know the hot tanked it and refreshed it but is this a valve job and resurface
Yeah, hot tank, replaced exhaust valve guides, and 3 angle valve job
I paid $120 to get my Saturn dohc cylinder head resurfaced. I screwed up the timing now I have to get new valve seats and new guides.

I looks great and they have some really awesome equipment over there at advance head shop...I was a machinist and welder in the army and had the chance to work at a place called Flatland Forge in Midland TX with a lot of CNC work. (After I got out of the Army). I would LOVE to work with a shop like that or at least learn how to run it. Thanks for the video!

Replacing the head gasket is routine maintenance on a dseries.... I resurface 5-10 a week! B-series is significantly more reliable

That’s not a micrometer. It’s a vernier calliper or gauge.
That's a dial Caliper not a micrometer
Should have done some upgrades to to the cam and or valve train. Even a port and polish
