Great story. So many of us face injuries and challenges in our training and listening to your thought proces through it is so helpful. Can't wait to see you race ❤
Wow Lucy, I can’t believe you trained in the moon boot! Your positive attitude is so inspiring. I’m recovering from a 4th metatarsal reaction (not a full fracture like yours) and I was so depressed as it’s my second metatarsal stress injury that I stopped training all together for 2 weeks. Your video has helped me realise that I can still do a lot of things to keep my fitness. Thank you! 😊
Those injuries are the worst...not being able to pinpoint how it happened. But glad you stayed positive and could continue doing what you love while healing! Good luck in Singapore!
I appreciate your openess with your hip fracture and sharing your process and recovery. Those videos have been helpful to me as I've been dealing with a femoral neck fracture that was misdiagnosed as a muscle strain, and haven't been able to run since April. I'm just a recreational runner, but it's mentally tough to be inactive and sidelined. I can only imagine how difficult it has been for you to deal with a second injury. All the best to you as you move forward!
Watching this for the third time because I love you guys so much :D No but actually I have to remember I can't comprehend youtube videos when I'm smashing the trainer sessions so I end up watching again. Glad to see you are back at it and thank you for sharing your journey with us. First off all, you look strong, not fluffy LOL! and I love all the piercings, I remember you getting those during your last injury, something fun to do to take your mind off. I had surgery two years ago and I was cycling with my cast on with my foot on a bench, one legged on the trainer in the dead of winter so could not go outside. Excited to see you race again. Will forever be a fan, my favorite athlete, through the highs and lows! You're not done yet!
The road to the startline is extremely challenging - I speak from experience as an age group triathlete. So wishing you a fruitful reboot for the 2nd part of the season and even beyond 👊🏼
Good to see you back again Lucy, and of course Reece too. I hope the remainder of the season will be great for you regardless of finishing positions and I will be cheering even if it is, unfortunately, not going to be along the course in either Singapore or Kona.
Last time you were down, you came back fitter and faster than ever. Same mindset, and a smaller injury.... OMG! People better be working hard because Lucy 2.0 is in the making! 😮💥❤
Something I've learned through first and second hand experience is that once the injuries start, they never seem to stop. So like, if we could just stop aging that'd be great 👍
We appreciate you sharing whatever it is you are comfortable sharing. Thank you! It's great to see you back and we definitely missed your videos. Best of luck!
So frustrating but you handled it well and came out stronger. Three weeks ago I broke my toe coming out of the sea from a 3km swim! Hoping to get an Oly in before the end of September so had to be creative about the training and based on your experience I'm on the right track. Thanks for sharing.
Wishing you all the best in my home town Singapore. You’ve showed resilience and trusted the process not rushing and listening to the body. Let it all come to you and enjoy what you love best!
It's inspiring to see how quickly you managed to recover. The capability and willpower of working this hard and coming back this strong, after two set backs, determins a true champion. Wish you both all the best for the rest of the season and hope you can focus on your goals without any further injuries.
@@LucyCharlesBarclay Just saw an interview of Singapore race: Yeah 🎉, congrats for the finish, good result😃, happy to see that you are back. Be careful, all the best for next five weeks. ☘🌸
Wow Lucy … a raw and honest account (a very well shot/edited video Holly 🙌🏼) of a very tough time. Wishing you all the best in Singapore! We know how well you race in heat and humidity … you’ll be epic! 🔥🔥🔥
Your strength and determination is so infectious. Thank you for sharing your injury and inspiring us with your comeback (yet again!) 🩷 best of luck with the race!! 💪🌟
This is even more great info than the return from the hip. I'm the opposite end from elite, but also, recovering from injury and can't run. It's reassuring to know the S&C and non-runnign work is likely to pay off!
I was wondering why we were not seeing more videos, then this video comes out and I'm like well now it all makes sense. Glad to see your spirits are strong. I hope when you return you have good success. I mean I don't think your partner has much choice but I was happy to see him by your side helping you with the training.
I will be cheering for you on the course in Singapore Lucy! Can’t wait to see you at the podium! Side note, please be prepared for the humidity in Singapore, it’s known to be very humid even the race starts in the afternoon/evening.
Your motivation through injuries and struggles along the way really inspire me. I’ve been dealing with an ankle injury for about 9 months now with other bumps along the way and it’s incredibly frustrating. But at least I know I’m not the only one!
Best of luck with the rest of the season. I was going to make the two hour drive to Milwaukee, but then I saw that the women's field was missing many of the best athletes. Hopefully there will be a more competitive group next year.
Keep up the hard work Lucy! I'm a former rower and loved to hear you found it to be valuable training. Can I ask what your 2k time is / what the qualification standard is for the GB team?
I’m digging the karate kid style head band at the beginning of the video does that mean Reeces pieces is Mr. Miyagi? Only question is which girl takes the roll of Johnny Lawerence?
I wonder what Lucy's energy availability looks like, it's possible to get micro's right for good blood work but still have inadequate macro's for injury avoidance. Good luck w recovery either way.
Two stress fractures strongly suggest low bone density. Swimmers have lower bone density than non athletes. Lucy, have you investigated this with physicians?
Mrs. Lucy I was concerned with this as soon as I heard that, now... now I'm just going to scramble letters here to mask the name, but (ICass) became your sponsor. Are they willing to let you run in Hoka's or Brooks? When I used (isSAC) very wobbly and uncomfortable. When the cameras are off be sure to switch you're a huge inspiration to my daughter thank you
Many others would’ve dropped out, but Lucy still managed to finish second with a super strong running at the end. Mindset of a true champ. 100% #TeamLucy 👏🏾👏🏾
Sorry for not knowing who you are , obviously triathlon person, noticed when you was on the running machine your left foot was not placing correctly on the ground , have you ever had anyone look at your feet and the way you stand and I don’t mean surgeons.

Inspiring Lucy. Champion mentality!!! No limits...

Resilience is the right word for team Lucy. Classy as always. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Lucy and Reece. You guys are amazing. Best triathlon couple on the planet!
Ahhh thank you ❤️
Slay 💅💅

She knows exactly how it happened. There was no way to prevent it. Other than wearing shoes during the swim start 😂
thank you for sharing. I just got put into a boot & hearing your story + training with it. very inspiring
SO glad to hear you're okay now and going to race!! Can't wait to watch!
Thank you! Can't wait to race!

I went through the exact same thing in high school

Thank you so much! Wishing you all the best in your races this season too!
Get after it, Lucy! Can't wait for Singapore
Best wishes. After many broken bones, recovery is usually worse than getting the injury in the first place.
Certainly a tough challenge, especially the mental side! But feels even sweeter to be through to the other side 💪🏻
Good to see you back again Lucy, and of course Reece too. I hope the remainder of the season will be great for you regardless of finishing positions and I will be cheering even if it is, unfortunately, not going to be along the course in either Singapore or Kona.

People underestimate rowing. It’s such a cardio challenge I’m not surprised you maintained a ton of fitness. Champion mindset!

Hi Lucy, I wish you all the best for the Asian PTO.
I would have loved to see you pass me with the boot on out on the road! I really like how honest you are about being injured. Good luck in Singapore!

You really get a feel for the mental and physical battle to be #1, who would bet against team C-B?

Lucky it’s only a minor setback.will Kona be the last race of 2023?
Lucy , get well ❤️🩹
Second place with a broken foot 🫡

100 mile rides in a moon boot😮🦁🙌🏾

The acid of energy drinks kills the bones. Bones need calcium. All the best for you both...
Ohh no 😢
That Red Bull nutrition may be the cause 😄
Top lah
🔥🔥🔥
Will you be competing in Kona?
Yes that’s the plan 👏🏻
go LCB!!!!!!!!!!!!!
💪💪💪🙏👏Good!
Thanks! 😃
No alter g tready at redbull?
LFG!
Breaks foot at the start…still comes 2nd 😳
Lucy 😮
Please tell me you bolted a cleat to the bottom of that boot! hahaha 💪
We did! But only the one for indoor riding 😂
Many others would’ve dropped out, but Lucy still managed to finish second with a super strong running at the end.
Mindset of a true champ.
100% #TeamLucy 👏🏾👏🏾
Lucy you should have your thyroid and parathyroid function tested including a calcium profile
Sorry for not knowing who you are , obviously triathlon person, noticed when you was on the running machine your left foot was not placing correctly on the ground , have you ever had anyone look at your feet and the way you stand and I don’t mean surgeons.
Sorry about your foot! If it hasn't already been done you may want to have someone build a relief -depression under that MTPJ in your shoe's insole.
gosh there's so many adds in one video it's crazy :'D
it's like she's a christmas tree decorated by adds.
Every man who is an endurance athlete deserves to also have a wife like Lucy. 😝 A dream…
What our the headphones/earplugs you are wearing on the run and bike?? @LucyCharlesBarclay.... GOOD LUCK IN SINGAPORE! 💪
