- Hey, I know I've done this before but I realised that I played it wrong in the rhythm section and solo. Anyways this version is much closer to the original and the tone is better. The RR5 sounds amazing and with a solo like this I figured it was needed, still love the Dominion but hey.
I recorded it using my Mark V module by Jaided Faith. Sorry I don't have any tabs for this, I work most of my covers by ear.
Anyways hope you like it, I think the Ashes album had the best guitar tone out of all LOG albums. I know Mark said he didn't like it but it is different with an old school swept vibe.

The weird rythmic riff is alternating between 2 patterns lets call them A and B
from 2:02 (it plays before that as well but here its easier to hear with no singing) it's AABA AABA
A: 2 2 5 (common in every pattern) 2 2 3 2 [1] 2 (1) where (1 1) is the bendy part and [1] is the high note before them
and
B:2 2 5, 2 2 5, 2 2 1
The way this is written is just in the number of quarter notes played together ( 2= "tutu" 5="tututututu")
This is the same technique i used for gojira's art of dying first percusive rythm which is just (4 4 4 2 2 2 4 4 4 2 2) many times :)
Our dear lamb chopper didn't get it completely faithfully to the original, but who gives a shit he still rocks this shit out perfectly

Totally knarly Bro!!! I know the riff in the bridge before the solo and one of my best friends learned the solo so we’d play it together and it sounded awesome. Had to learn it by ear and watching it cuz I could never find tabs for it. Haven’t played it in a very long time since my buddy died and idk anyone else that can play the solo like he did. Thanks dude, appreciated. The tone came from my Randall Rm 20 with the interchangeable preamps. The preamp module I used was a Mark V that Robb from Jaided Faith made for me. He's also done a JCM 800 Kerry King one as well. Both sound the same as the original amps. I have a direct recording out from that into a zoom H4n, then into Garageband on the Mac. I run the eq in Garageband and IKmultimedia real ambiance software. I've been chasing LOG's tone for ages, think I've got pretty close now.

Have you checked out the mark V 25 mini? It's much the same price as the 5150 iii 50w. Both are great amps - I highly recommend

Thank you for your answer. I didn't known the small version. Problem is, in Europe, the Mark V 25 costs almost twice the price of the EVH 5150. Too bad, it seems to have a killer sound.

Yup most Lamb songs are in Drop D and I think the only tuning they use is Drop C#, which is only on a few Lamb songs.
