@@akarshh3136 sorry to disagree with you brother, I don't disrespect Nehru, there should be no reason to disrespect him, he was our 1st PM, he deserves all the respect of the world.
But I think he was a bit overrated, he was not democratic in nature, in the beginning he got the Post of PM and before this he got the chairmanship of INC in 1928-29 because of the stubbornness of one man.
He was not strategic thinker, he was more of an idealist in Foreign Policy.
He did not get success on economic front(by 1964 India was facing balance of payment crisis, agriculture despite having a wonderful start in 1st FYP was in peril), foreign policy was disastrous, it costed us POK, Aksai-Chin, 1962 war. Despite naming it so called Nehruvian era and Nehruvian socialism, Land reforms was not implemented, first time he has imposed president rule on kerala because communist won from that place, he has curtailed so called free speech- Majrooh sultanpuri has to spend many months in prison because he has written an anti-establishment poem. Licence Raj which curtailed economic freedom got its foundation in his economic policies.
Though he has done many good things like science ,engineering, research and development institutions like ISRO, IITs, IIMs have been opened etc. He has provided a great stability to this country.

Who had great relationship with Vajpayee... And corruption free man, a true Yogi... Rare for a congressman.... A visionary and uncompromising, and a tapaswi... Who served the nation... In spite of his great services to the nation... He was humiliated when he was alive even after his death by the boot lickers of Sonia and Sonia herself. I speak Marathi, hence I have had the privilege to read many books written by Marathi journalists go have gone to Israel and extensively reported on the Agri-innovation and cooperation. I think the very many Marathi speaking Bene-Israelis tend to attarct more Marathi media to Israel than others. But Israel does give preferential treatment to India. If you want to, you can read a book on Israel - from the late 90s written by Niloo Damle - Its called Jerusalem. I am sure an English translation of the Marathi original is available somehwere.

    • @si91
      @si91 5 лет назад +2

@Abol Tabol Yes, the UAE allowed a Mandir to be built - recently. Israel has allowed religious freedom for Hindus since its inception. You speak of Saudi Arabia, yet Saudi Arabia's MBS told the Palestinians to take the deal Israel offered them or shut up, and as you said, allowed Indian planes to travel to Israel via Saudi airspace. Neither of these states care about Indian relations with Israel, because they are building covert relations with Israel against Iran. So your own examples only strengthen the case for India-Israel relations.
You contrast Israel with Palestine. Yes, Israel is selling arms to India for its own interest, but India would not buy them unless they were better than what India's DRDO produced. In contrast, India has given millions of rupees in aid to Palestine - what have they ever given India in return? You say "Not a single country has done anything for any other. They all try to do things for themselves and not others" - so then by your own logic, there is no need for India to do anything for Palestine when there is no benefit associated with that. Why does Palestine not need to do anything for India? Why should India give it charity money for free? Not even the Arab states are interested in giving free money to the Palestinian welfare queens anymore.

We in andhra didn't vote pv when he begged for votes when asked in the name of development.
We allowed and even pv allowed sonia to mistreat pv.
Telugu people brought back upa in 2004 and 2009 which caused utmost destruction in the country.

For last 70 years our foreign policy has been pro Arab and anti Israel whereas Arabs have always supported Pakistan on kashmir. Israel is a friend in need, always helped India. Modi govt has rightly taken this bold step, if Israel stands with us it is our moral responsibility to stand with our true friends. Minority appeasement on the cost of nation is not at all acceptable. Thanks for your views.

Israel has been successful in dividing other nations who were against it, as it solidifies its position against Palestinians. Palestinians have lost most of their traditional land to Israel, by force, as Israel claims that their patriarchs - Abraham, Issac, Jacob etc. - were buried there.
Look how Israel has even divided Arab countries, Egypt, Jordan and now UAE by signing treaties with them. Don't Arabs care for their brethern The Palestinians?

As a Syrian Christian I welcome the change towards the Jewish state. As a matter of fact this could be a great asset for the BJP when fighting elections in the southern state.
Most Indians are unaware of the old, deep cultural and religious link that syrian Christians (Nasarani's) have with Jewish people which was almost wiped out of history by the Portuguese colonist.

Kashmir is under Indian military occupation, just as Gaza is under Israeli military occupation.
India and Israel are both neo-fascists states that call themselves democracies and are led by neo-fascists who call themselves Prime Ministers.
In actuality they are Crime Ministers that promote #StateTerrorisim and brain wash their own people with their 400 news channels spreading hate 24/7. Hatred towards indigenous people is learned. Humans don't hate naturally unless they are systematically taught to hate others. The current Indian with its RSS Hindutva ideology is spreading hate across India like a Cancer. The British wanted Indian and Pak to fight and this channel just feeds on that.

Thank you Mr Gupta for this comprehensive presentation on India's past foreign policy - particularly with regards to the shadowy relationship with Israel. India has remained out of sorts with global affairs for far too long after the end of the Cold War. With the special relationship we enjoyed with the USSR, I'm not too sure that we were really "non-aligned", nevertheless, that status was a reaction to having to choose sides. About time we shrugged off the Nehruvian era if we want to be recognized as a leading global power.

Shekhar Gupta is one of the leading non-partisan journalists of this region, if not of the world. What he has said today does not bear the manifestation of his character what has been defined above. India is the largest democracy of the world. This is true that the geographical entity which sets the boundaries of post- 1947 Hindustan, which the Colonizer calls India, is a gift to the majority population who are non-Muslims in general, and the so called "Kolkata Babus" who helped the Company people to deprive independence of Hindustan in 1857 by licking their boots. Still then, this truncated Hindustan is a functional democracy and its constitution stands for upholding equality and justice not only within the county but all the human kind. Israel on the other hand is an occupying force and have relegated the original population of the land of Palestine into a bunch of sub human kind. How come Mr Gupta can say that India has done a good job by calling Israel as one of its staunchest friends? India has damaged its image as a land of liberal Democrats fighting for upholding equality and justice throughout the world in general and the most tortured land in the world in particular -- the land of Palestine!
