No earth=No life then no use of any of these laws! Single-use plastic waste, overpopulation, uncontrolled use of chemical-based fertilizers are the real threat to our mother earth and the very existence of our life. The PM's speech was in the right direction.
    1) No. of Doctors only can be increased if the cost of medical education reduces. 2) There is no policy in paramedical education and basic medical education for all. All must be aware of basic medical practices which can save lives. 3) Tourism straightway related to infrastructure and social safety. Make better roads and lower the crime rate then it will increase. 4) Religion-based participation in powers is an awful idea. 5) Scrap MCI/AICTE/UGC/PCI/BCI/NCTE/NAAC these all are the reason for poor quality education and the source of corruption. Other than improving the quality of education they are more of license raj. Universities must be rated by their employment ratio of its students and the no. of patents filed by them. 6) Declare in advance and Offer many subsidies and favors for single-child parents.

Appreciate your honest views- Modi has good intents for the nation- no one can deny it; we can argue methods and policies and critique him I agree, but lets unite behind this man in making our country great! WE can't argue that taking a tough stand on Kashmir was necessary- 70 years of failed policy gave rise to Islamic militancy in the region and nullifying article 370 became important. Population control and water are main issues for India- but each one of us have to be an active citizen in solving these issues- we can't just expect the prime minster to do all the work.

    1) Pushed to corner on Kashmir issue, what are chances of Pakistan coming to war against India ?? Wouldn't that dent our economic growth ??
    2) I worked with political survey during recent elections, I travelled extensively in nearly 100 villages, there were a lot of diverse groups living with each other based one principle - " compromise " ( largely becoz , they are illiterate , no knowledge of their rights and cultural histories, so they find some or the other compromise solution , " just to continue as usual "). However , the same is NOT true for URBAN EDUCATED INDIA , they seem uncompromising , only bothered about their rights , have no "DUTIES", educated youth is more CASTIEST, EDUCATED Hindus feel they have more rights, similarly EDUCATED Tamil is more agitated about language,,,,, AND HENCE they are NOT going to compromise . So, what I mean is not an education that promotes jingoism, but an education that aims to cultivate mutual respect and national pride in an organic way..there should not be contradiction between ones own ethnic and linguistic identity and national identity..also, our education should promote a North Indian to learn at least one language from the south...don’t know if this makes some sense

This is because of our useless dravidian politics since independence and I as tamil I hate it and there are people like us who hate it too and you don't to hear our voices.

Mr. Khan and pakistan in general seems to have the same fever from 1947/48 ( To Occupy/Liberate J&K) They are obsessed with it. How do u send an entire nation to see a shrink? Its a sobering thought...🙂
On the other side was Mr.Modi. Looking to the future and planning for it.
My fav line in the entire speech apart from all the points you covered was when he said. We are not afraid of tackling problems and we wont breed problems either. I thought it was a nice way to tell the kids in the house to behave and the kids next door too.
I do hope that India achieves all its objectives that the PM set out and hope that INDIA becomes the first country in the world to effectively tackle the PLASTIC Problem.

One child policy would be a disastrous initiative. The population replacement rate stands at 1.8, i.e. every 10 women in the country will have to give birth to 18 children (preferably 10 female, 8 male to rectify our horribly poor sex ratio) to maintain the status quo. China implemented a one child policy and as a result, they now have a HUGE chunk of population which will enter the retirement age, with no significant younger population to replace the older ones. This leads to reduction/ slack in the socio-economic growth of the country.

Apart from the high jump stuff I think there was another anomaly in the PM speech. My understanding is, India is still not a 3 tr USD economy as the PM claimed (2- to 3 tr USD in last 5 years), expected to reach the milestone this year unless INR depreciates. Otherwise I liked the PM speech. Did he ever performed in a pressure situation or have he been ever in opposition? Shows real mettle of a person. With the kind of politics he does, he can either be in power or if not will quickly turn into nothing !
Now are the days, we do not trust an IITan and an ex Income tax officer fighting corruption, to do good for the nation !

how could you implement demonitization after a consensus sir. Secrecy was the key, just as it was in the case of article 370 and 35a.

Now, there you are. How much did it take to filter away your biases and (what I believe) your unsubstantiated "nudges" to your viewers?
Thank you for a very engaging, a very erudite and a very simple 'trustworthy' analysis.
And happy Independence Day to you too.
Long may you live and long may your brand of forthright journalism flourish.

100% tax redemption for those with 1 or none child. 40% for those with >2. Proper sealing of Bangladesh border and tough dealing with illegal immigrants.
Should work hard on formalising the informal economy

Interesting and illuminating analysis ...much appreciated. Overall, I find ‘The Print’ has a good & competent team covering various streams and I enjoy reading and listening to the commentary on RUclips. I have for past many months stopped tuning to news channel debates, which in my opinion are utter waste of time. Special mention on witty and intelligent twitter responses and articles from Ms.Inayat. Lastly, my wife is also a regular listener of your commentary - ‘cut the clutter’ and finds it interesting. Looking forward to interesting times and objective reporting ahead ... thanks

There is already a 5 trillion dollar economy all Modi needs to do is file it how come people are noticing that? Modi is a genius.
He meant high jump you dumb, he was taking about overcoming obstacles and challenges as a high jumper jumps high to overcome an obstacle not to jump ahead. Each and every thing he says have some dose for future. Modi's speech is like real life Easter egg
