Your videos are getting better and better. Nice pacing, fun to watch, better editing, and your talking is much more to the point/cohesive. Can't wait to watch more!!
After a long day I see 9 new videos ready. As I scroll through I see one from Rudy. That’s the first one I watch. Your videos are always great. Thanks for sharing.
This content is really cool! Better camera quality, seen you making the design, and then building it. You have skills. Good start of 2023! Congratulations from Spain! We want Rudycon finish!
Hey Rudy, I know that this is a year old video. But watching how you fabricated the pieces for your hydro steering is a stroke of freaking genius. Your fabrication skills are above and beyond awesome sauce. Keep up your great work and videos. From Orlando Florida.
Good on you for bringing your partner in and that she is keen on participating with you. She will be a great asset to your team if she chooses to get more involved with the fabrication. The more practice the better women quite often have steadier hands so can make really beautiful even welds easier. Plus if you two work together you'll be able to get through more projects. Looking forward to more videos with both of you working together.
I'm looking forward to the finished steering. I'm curious how it'll perform! A little feedback: a lot of the camera action is a bit shaky (which is normal for the way you're filming). If your camera (a GoPro I guess) has image stabilization, try enabling that for a smoother picture.
Your fabrication skills Rudy are outstanding. Nice to meet you Andy and with Janelle welding your output is going to just take off. Stay safe and I look forward to the next instalment.
Like your videos. I follow your Dad, Robbie, Paul, and Holly as well, I really like the fact that you all include family in the videos, it show's the viewers a lot about your character and bond with others. Keep up the good work and GOD bless you all.
As a 58 year old guy that has his own aircraft restoration hangar and fab shop that I started 30 years ago, I LOVE to see there are awesome useful young guys and gals still out there. There is hope for the future!! Janelle seems like the PERFECT partner for you, but I don't see a ring on her finger??
I just started watching your videos and I am not able to stop. I see some of the places I have been. At my age I can't do much 😢 but I enjoy your time and ability. Thank you for all you do.😊
Nice looking work. You WILL hit those steering ram arms. I've seen you drag that axle over a lot of stuff. That's ok, I will just wait for the vid where you put the ram behind the axle. Be well all.
That is some very clean work you definitely have the fabrication skills. I’m with you though were going to see how well it works when you take it out on the trails.
You can also use a shop vac to get bits of stuff of stuff out of those ports. I even made a smaller clear vinyl hose adapter to fit down into various size ports. Dont ask how I know😁
A few thing's to comment on... hello to little brother ! I see you're dipping your toes in the water's. I see the editing & I see the skits you're putting out .. I like it. That's how you will grow this channel is experimenting . it's cool that you are. I'm on the long way ! Let's ride.
It's coming along nicely. Can't wait to see more videos soon. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Fab On. Weld On. Keep Making. God Bless.
Just so you know, Rudy, I can't see a Jeep Rubicon without automatically calling it a Rudicon, so thank you for that. Helps keep me focused on what's right and good in our world.
When measuring with a tape measure, put the hook end at the total dimensions (bend tape in half), will be able to find the half dimension at the bend of the tape measure. Just in case you forgot this trick. 🙂
Might have to modify that mount in the future so the ram sits above (but in front of obviously) the axle and have high steer knuckles/adapters for the tie rod ends. Looks good!
The Rudicon is looking good, Rudy, but I'm most impressed with the progress you've made setting up your shop. It looks awesome! How about a tour sometime? Always enjoy your humor and editing too 😊😊😊😊
It's always nice to watch you fabricat and weld, you make art of it. It was also nice to see Janelle welding, she's a pretty good welder. And let's hope Janelle was wrong too and you don't hit rocks.
Great video! Great setup. With hydro steering I've never understood why folks don't relocate the steering line higher than the axle to reduce it's vulnerability. It's nice seeing more family. I liked the welded in holy matrimony statement.
Hey @Rudys Adventure and Design. I'll split hairs. Draglink goes between the Steering Pitman Arm and the right knuckle. Tie rod connects right knuckle to the left knuckle. It's all good. It don't matter what you call the parts as long as they all work together.
Looks great. But if you really want to freak out all the gear heads, put the steering ram on the rear of the front axle housing. Swap the knuckles left to right & vise versa. Now all the Ackerman angles will be closer to correct & there's a better chance of protecting parts. Watching you build this, inspired me on better solutions. Basically, new thoughts for today.
Really like the content, and more specifically I enjoy seeing fab work done. I'm needing that same type of setup on my Rubicon. Steering and body feedback are in the negative coming from stock. Was wondering why I didn't see you on the other channel anymore. Glad I found out you had your own channel now. Best wishes!
Hey there! I have seen a lot of these rams come loose! I know they only come with 2 clamps, but you get another set for cheap. Adding more clamps definitely helps! I was super fortunate to get to go wheeling with you at Trail Hero! I had the Blazer thing. I super hope we get to wheel at the upcoming winter jamboree !!!
I put in the single tubes LED's in my garage and the lighting is awesome and the connect to each. Was so easy to install. Wasn't planning it but it made my garage light up like a studio.
looking good! I can see your concern over damage from the first rock you encounter, and I wonder if you might decide to add some kind of protection (no solid ideas are coming to my mind at the moment)
Hi Rudy ….. have a look at your fathers steering on his wrecker. You rightly mentioned Ackerman and on your dads truck his axles have incorrect steering arms ….. in fact they are opposite to what he needs. I have left a message on his RUclips video too. Derek (Retired automotive design engineer) 😊👍
Could you mount it to the other side of the axle to avoid hitting rocks? I realize that would invert the steering since the tie rods would be behind the hubs. Love how you fab'd this iteration and good luck not hitting it on some rocks 😉
I agree @rudysadventureanddesign717. If you're using full hydro setup, and you have the ability to adapt/fabricate your own mounts and knuckles, why not mount the tie rods to the rear of the front axle instead, and eliminate the chance of them colliding with rocks? Because there is no more drag link, you have the freedom to try that.
The hub. Hmmmm. Get 2 mount one to each side in the rear. Mount 2 spare tiers to them so when you tip back they will roll and keep you from a back flip.
Your going to need A 360 or 401 AMC Motor in your XJ with a T Flight Auto as she starting to get heavy . Keep it old school all the way Brian in Tasmania 👍🏻💯🇦🇺
Hey cool more hands to help in the shop, love the work you do on the rudicon fella definately building one serious rig great job. Oh and that cradle is art 👍🇦🇺
And great job stepping up the audio , always wear eye protection, a good friend of mine lost his eye a few months ago, fractured his skull and lost an eyebrow when a bench grinder exploded in his face and went through his face shield in his shop class, he’s the shop teacher here in Freeport Long Island And always follows all safety protocols, he always would make us follow them as well, so sometimes, as careful as you are, shyt still happens! Sucks but he’s back teaching auto shop already! Close one of your eyes and try to function, it’s so freakin hard! But TJ is a trooper and he’s also in the Coast Guard and he’s staying with them also, life, you never know what’s around the next corner?
Sounds like the PPE didn't help lol maybe if the story was that the face shield saved his eye it would be a better example of how proper PPE is important
@Master Bates The grinding stone was most likely defective, even before he was auto shop teacher, TJ was and is a stickler for safety, passed down from his father, he was wearing top of the line safety gear, it's also required, and with probably 30 witnesses ( The kids ) it's always a good idea to wear the proper safety gear, I was in shock when I heard, just knowing how safe he always works, I tell ya brother, I couldn't feel worse for him and can't imagine how he feels? But he's right back in the saddle! He's a great example for the kids and also for his country, I've always been a firm believer that teachers are our unsung heroes! And they 💯 % are!
Great show Rudy & help : ) *Lights in front, not above, creates shadows. *Your dark blue jacket makes you blend into the scenery (where’s that RAD vest ?) colors. Hello from Texas
If you're worried about hitting the rocks, put that ram on the back of your axle. I wheel with many guys who run their rams on the back side of the axle on their buggys.
Lord forbid if you have to put it in reverse 😂 it’s a good concept. I can see it working. But I don’t know just seems different like have a rock mounted to the back of your axle. I’m no scientist but probably easier with forward momentum than backwards. Interesting none the less. I have yet to see it in person let alone on a video
My guess is that you are going to have to fabricate some kind of rock shield for the steering linkage or either mount the rack in a different location. It sure looks exposed there where it is now.
Funny thing , back in 1968 Dodge used a power assisted ram on their 1/2 Dodge 2 wheel drive pick ups. But they didn't last long because they didn't last long and leaked. The more things change , the more they stay the same.
Rudy..... Your brother is your brother..... no explanation is necessary.... We are ALL family..... :) Its awesome to meet you Andy...
Could you have Trevor come by sometime and yell "RUUUDDEEE!!!" just for old time's sake? Thanks and asking for a friend
I'm glad to see the new shop up and running with the new lift. Good work Rudy, you are a born mechanic!
Looks good Rudy and Janelle did a good job welding! 👍 Hello Andy!

Rudicon is looking good. Love when the parts they send just work out. That saved you a lot of time.
Good on you for bringing your partner in and that she is keen on participating with you. She will be a great asset to your team if she chooses to get more involved with the fabrication. I hope you keep making steady content. You’re a good fabricator and have every skill necessary to be really successful on RUclips
Yeah a tripod might help.
I love that you are getting geared up, in the content production sense. Can't want for the next one!
I'm looking forward to the finished steering. I'm curious how it'll perform!
A little feedback: a lot of the camera action is a bit shaky (which is normal for the way you're filming). If your camera (a GoPro I guess) has image stabilization, try enabling that for a smoother picture.
I think we can figure how it all works-out Rudy, lol, your a good brother Rudy,👍, great video, and thanks for sharing.
Your fabrication skills Rudy are outstanding. Nice to meet you Andy and with Janelle welding your output is going to just take off. Stay safe and I look forward to the next instalment.
Rudy great job on the Hydro assist. I really like the mounting system you designed. Can't wait to see the finished product
Its full hydro. Blow a hose and crash!
@@johndonahue1935 your right it is full hydro I said it wrong but you will do a great job at installing it so don't worry about crashing
Like your videos. I follow your Dad, Robbie, Paul, and Holly as well, I really like the fact that you all include family in the videos, it show's the viewers a lot about your character and bond with others. Keep up the good work and GOD bless you all.
That’s mount looks awesome. Everything went together very 👍. Family is family no explanations needed
You're doing a great job on the Rudicon, Rudy. Keep up the good work and I'll be waiting for another video .
Yes! Fabrication for the Rudicon! Looks great!
As a 58 year old guy that has his own aircraft restoration hangar and fab shop that I started 30 years ago, I LOVE to see there are awesome useful young guys and gals still out there. Nice 1 Rudy, it's good to see another member of the (somewhat extended) family helping out...... I wish I had such good relations with my siblings 👍
That augmented overhead shot is awesome. Thanks for putting g the effort I to do that.
Nice work Rudy!! Looks really good!! I do have a bit of apprehension about it hitting the rocks though. You'll figure it out and it will be awesome!!!
Nice fabrication and video. The young Lady welds pretty darn good too. Thanks for sharing.👍👍
Nice mount for the hydro and you only had to cut once👍
Atta way to get more turn.....sweet, can't wait to see it completed. Stay safe all of you. Thanks for sharing 👍
I just started watching your videos and I am not able to stop. I see some of the places I have been. At my age I can't do much 😢 but I enjoy your time and ability. Thank you for all you do.😊
Rudy, you're a natural. Keep up the great videos and the custom fabrication!
Rudy, I once told Paul Cox that he was as good of an engineer as any in East St Louis, Illinois. Well, in that department you are equal to him.
Nice looking work. You WILL hit those steering ram arms. I've seen you drag that axle over a lot of stuff. That's ok, I will just wait for the vid where you put the ram behind the axle.
Be well all.
Rudy getting "distracted" by the cat videos only reinforces how much I missed his videos and how much i'm enjoying them now. GO RUDY!!!!!
That is some very clean work you definitely have the fabrication skills. I’m with you though were going to see how well it works when you take it out on the trails.
I am considering putting the knuckles on backwards and putting all the hydraulic behind the diff 🤔 tired of the constant damage 💔
Very creative use of humor Rudy. It all added to the quality of this video, and I salute you for it!
Definitely some Canadian roots there as I heard a few …. “Sorry” 😅. It’s coming together really nicely.
You can also use a shop vac to get bits of stuff of stuff out of those ports. I even made a smaller clear vinyl hose adapter to fit down into various size ports. Dont ask how I know😁

Nice that the ram system works out now for the plumbing! Good job 👍
Great work Rudy and helpers, God bless you all.
Best video yet. Keep up the great work!! Looking forward to the day you get Robby to paint the RUDICON.
Nice job guys, and Andy will be a nice addition to the team.
Very cool! If that ram shaft gets nicked on a rock on either side it will tear up seals though. Needs shielded both directions.
Nice to meet you Andy. 👍
Janelle's skills make her Wifey Material. No questions asked👌🏿👌🏿
U R the Highest Skilled Fabricator I Have Watched. St George Fan👍
Really diggin' what you've got going-on, guys, keep on keepin' on!
You are just like your dad, very precise and don't give up !! I wish you all the best in this new venture. Greetings from Australia
"... like your dad, very precise"... that's a good one, a real knee slapper
It's coming together *finally*
It's coming along nicely. Can't wait to see more videos soon. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Fab On. Weld On. Keep Making. God Bless.
Just so you know, Rudy, I can't see a Jeep Rubicon without automatically calling it a Rudicon, so thank you for that. Helps keep me focused on what's right and good in our world.
Well done Rudy and team! Nice shop. Its all coming together very nicely!
I'm happy to see more rudicon content. Steering looks good but i bet you'll end up adding more protection for the rods.
How about moving the whole steering assembly behind the axle? Might be tricky with the supension links but would be safe from rocks
When measuring with a tape measure, put the hook end at the total dimensions (bend tape in half), will be able to find the half dimension at the bend of the tape measure. Just in case you forgot this trick. 🙂
Happy New Year Rudy and crew, send to you by the Old Man from the Netherlands. You doing good with your YT channel I see 200K. Keep it up !
Might have to modify that mount in the future so the ram sits above (but in front of obviously) the axle and have high steer knuckles/adapters for the tie rod ends. Looks good!

How many siblings do you have in your family? I see new brothers all the time! Awesome video!
Great video! Great setup. With hydro steering I've never understood why folks don't relocate the steering line higher than the axle to reduce it's vulnerability. It's nice seeing more family. I liked the welded in holy matrimony statement.
fabrication skills on point!!! :) bonus points for cute doggy, an essential component of any working shop.
Nice. I'm thinking about doing a hydro assist on mine, not full hydro. Great video Rudy you made that look way to easy
it is great to see you working in the shop, can use a lot of your ideas in my shop.
Hey @Rudys Adventure and Design. I'll split hairs. Draglink goes between the Steering Pitman Arm and the right knuckle. Tie rod connects right knuckle to the left knuckle. It's all good. It don't matter what you call the parts as long as they all work together.
Thanks for the update Rudy nicely done 👍. Take care of yourself.
Looks great.

Same. Like 30 or 40 bucks each for 4ft sections that daisy chain.
looking good! I can see your concern over damage from the first rock you encounter, and I wonder if you might decide to add some kind of protection (no solid ideas are coming to my mind at the moment)

Rock protection idea. Add a tube both sides of the ram covering the rams. It attached by way of the body of the ram housing.
I agree you should look at means to protect this system. Maybe a U bolt welded to axle top/bottom in couple spots?
Could you mount it to the other side of the axle to avoid hitting rocks? I realize that would invert the steering since the tie rods would be behind the hubs. Love how you fab'd this iteration and good luck not hitting it on some rocks 😉

Really like the explanation of both problem and how to fix it, I always wondered why the MORR vehicles were using hydraulic rams.

Janelle is going to be Lizzie MkII!!! Good job, I like how you think things through first, you say you don't but, actually, you do.
Hey cool more hands to help in the shop, love the work you do on the rudicon fella definately building one serious rig great job. Oh and that cradle is art 👍🇦🇺
Once the steering is finished, will the Rudicon be 9/16 done?
Nice lay out and design! You get a Bad Lands wench and stick welder that runs off the alternator and you'll bet set.
Your friend is a strong man. Goodluck him with and to the new challenges he faces daily.

The apple didn't fall far. Great work Rudy! Now show that girl some love ❤️
Congratulations on your new shop
I'm impressed. You really put that together. Were Janelle's welds pretty good?
Well done! And another welder coming along nicely!
Great show Rudy & help : )

Hello from Texas
Thanks for the update!! I really enjoy seeing good fab work.
Much better.
Something I've never seen done before.
I like this video. You are doing a great job Rudy. Nice to meet your brother. ❤️🙏🙏👍👍🌟🌟❤️
Looks good Rudy!! Maybe a skid plate to protect your new steering pump?
you are a great fabricator, enjoyable to watch your show
Nice improvement . Thanks for sharing .
Rudicon is going to be a bad ass rig when its done, not saying thats its not bad ass now as it sits!
If you're worried about hitting the rocks, put that ram on the back of your axle. I wheel with many guys who run their rams on the back side of the axle on their buggys.
I was wondering if that was a thing.

The Suburban axle hub is for a driveshaft mounted brake setup is my guess.
My guess is that you are going to have to fabricate some kind of rock shield for the steering linkage or either mount the rack in a different location. It sure looks exposed there where it is now.
