@@masterbates7016 I'd do a lot of questionable things to have access to a shop like that. So to some of us it is something to be jealous of. My uninsulated 24x24 garage is my mini shop with one 15 amp breaker running to it. When I have a lot of metal cutting to do I plug my metal chop saw into a generator because it's faster to reset that than trip my panel every 30 seconds. The saw is annoyingly rated at 15 amps and eats all of that, so it trips the circuit breakers on the generator or the house if I push too hard and load the motor up.
Really loving the way this things coming along!! Also really admire how you could give a crap less if it looks perfect or what anyone else may think about it. Because you like it and it's functional and fun so it's serving its purpose!!
A good choice for removing old adhesive like from that blue tape is mineral spirits. It's typically friendly to modern coatings and won't damage them. Brake cleaner, on the other hand, can destroy your paint.
You're learning! And you're being modest and humble about it. That's how to learn even faster. Love your attitude man! Keep the videos coming You're doing great.
It's looking good. I wasn't sure if cutting out those fenders any more would be a good idea, but as always, you brought it together and made it look good. Yellow always goes good with purple, if the yellow was the trim.
Best video so far. I think you are right at the point where your former channel started to make waves. Try to keep it real and don’t let success go to your head. Congratulations, I can’t wait for the next one.
Yeah, that's going to be a lot better. One thing that irks me is dust in my vehicle and you guys work and play in the dust. Good to see you working on fixing that issue.
Hear you on the waiting for payday for parts thing, Rudy! It's not even a "don't have money" thing, it's a responsible budgeting "already spent the parts budget for the month" thing.
Impressed how you sealed the back end up. That's going to make it nice inside !! Higgins looks cold when he's outside with you on the trail. He needs a coat or a sweater !! He's a skinny little pup !
Great tip for making those inner fenders. Make them out of cardboard, way cheaper than first try being sheet metal. Also great way to make “temporary”fender is to shoot them with rattle can bedliner and duct tape them in. Waterproof and securely fastened.
its great to see you guys working together on this. My wife and I always try to do projects together because she thinks on all the stuff I forget haha!
You'll like the white in the desert sun, nicely reflective. Surprised you didn't use the old gas inlet cover to patch the hole, it's already the perfect curve. Clean your shop, work will smooth out cuz it just feels better, that and you won't be stumbling over everything.
Hey Rudi, good to see that the Rudicon is slowly but surely fully meeting your ideas and wishes. Paint the Rudicon Volkswagen LR9A Campanella White, in combination with black and purple it becomes a killer Jeep.
I don't know if you know it or not is the fact that welding tends to warp sheet metal. I know your Father does it, Fab Rats do it, and Trail mater does it but it is a questionable practice. I worked for a number of years building truck bodies for phone companies, fire departments, and other commercial clients. There were few fully welded seams. Instead, we stitch welded the seams and then used automotive seam sealer to fill in the gaps. It is the way car manufacturers build new cars and it works very well and saves a lot of time and money. Most sealers are applied and then wiped over with a rag with paint reducer on it. It packs the sealer into the cracks better and smooths it out. We had units up to 15 years old come back in for refurbish and it was still doing the job just fine. Just sayin..........
Hey Rudy, I love your videos and the whole 'Matt's' network. You are almost the age of my son, plus minus a week. I keep telling him how important it is to wear breathing protection when grinding and welding. My son moved across country, so I can't yell at him right now, so I'm yelling at you.
Rudy, I am surprised you didn't cut the entire fuel filler box out as one piece and relocate it farther up and back beyond the new wheel well opening and flare...BUT, no matter, I am always amazed at all you can do!! Good stuff! :-)
Kerocene works to take most everything off of a car body. If you care anything about the paint though, wash it when you're done. It is an oil and will not be good soaking into your paint. It may also make future painting harder to do if you don't use a good degreaser, such as Dawn.
Good morning James, that's how these boys roll. They love to help each other out, That's easy content for Robbies channel. I believe Robby and hillbilly are doing U-tube full time. Rudy would probably prep it , then roll it in the booth one night, get it out the next morning. Just good buddies helping each other. YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT SUNDAY!
I just had to join Rudy’s channel. Because me and my wife missed seeing him so much on his father’s channel. Both of us wish that he had never left!!!!!!
Cool video mate :) No rush take your time do it nice (quality over quantity). Rudicon really needs washing, I know you put through a lot of mud but jet washing it every time you bring it home it makes looking more cool. I like what you do and your skill just take your time in doing things. Waiting for the next one.
Is there a reason you’ve got it slightly squatted? My uneducated point of view would be to just add an inch or two of lift in the rear, then bump stop it to fit… also looking forward to more Comanche stuff
Next time try using a copper wire, any wire to get that curve you want or you could’ve used a longer card board and trace it from the back side but whatever you did worked out just fine. 🤙
Hi Jan-elle, if you want that young fella to be able to hear you in the future may I suggest that you insist the Rud wears ear protection as well as eye protection. May stop him from saying "Hey! wadaja say?" soon!
We have been slowly doing our TJ in white with purple accents and black. It looks awesome together! Thank you for your videos and ideas that you come up with.
Great work Rudy and Janelle!! One helpful hint on removing old stickers or tape... heat gun😁 Still might need some brake cleaner or similar to remove some of the glue if it don't all come off but the heat helps a lot. Looks like you are gaining a lot towards getting the Rudicon finished.
Looking good buddy! Nice build. Purple and white would be a cool design variant for the Rudicon,. How about all white body panels and Purple doors, hood, hatch and roof? Give it the white and purps Police Jeep look!
That should be enough clearance great fab on the new fender Wells Rudy, the white looks good with black letters, I look forward to the new fuel tank and fenders, great video thank's for sharing God bless ❤😉👍
9:36 u ain't kidding you almost died that damn sheet metal would cut your arm or head off that stuff is like a razor a big ol razor lol stay safe Rudy...
Love the channel, watch you, your dad, Paul(fabrats), Robby and Trailmater. Enjoy every video yall put out! always loved the rudicon and can't wait to see what it looks like when it's done but think that Chrysler's flat gray, they have out with the purple would look amazing on it!
Bump stops will stop the rubbing. Easy and looks great and problem solved. Bump stops would been 30 min jib and really wouldn’t have lost anything at all except no more rubbing. Really like how the fenders looked before. The size just fit the Jeep so well. I’m sure these new ones will look amazing once done as well
A hint for trying to remove old tape or stickers, use some WD-40 or Pam type cooking spray, and then let it sit for a while. I used those tricks to clean some refrigerators that were covered in stickers. It took a few rounds, but I finally got them all off.
Poor Janelle removing the masking tape. After it's been rained and suned on it's really hard to get off. It needed to come off since the Rudicon I think is over half done. Great fab work making fenders bigger and making new inners. Some seam sealer would work great before the metal gets dirty then some truck bed coating.
Rudy & Janelle sure make a great team.
I have enjoyed watching you build everything for yourselfers and for others.
Keep em videos coming.
I am so envious of your fantastic shop. Adapt, improvise, MIG weld, and Overcome! outstanding.
It's not really his shop lol so nothing to be jealous about

I don't know what's more impressive, Rudy's fab skills or the fact that the hatch struts still work!
Agree 100% Jay. The way those sheet metal pieces fit perfectly was impressive.
LOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oddly enough I’ve had 5 xj’s consistently the last 12 years and never had to replace the hatch struts 😂
I cant believe how people just deal with bad hatch struts. Replacements are like $30 lol
I’m amazed that he didn’t bust that side rear window. I would’ve in the first 5 minutes and not on purpose.
A good choice for removing old adhesive like from that blue tape is mineral spirits. It's typically friendly to modern coatings and won't damage them. Brake cleaner, on the other hand, can destroy your paint.
Heat gun !
Heat from a hair dryer also works.
80 grit…. Most efficient. Time=money. 😅
I don’t think they care about the paint
they also make a rubber wheel for a drill that can erase adhesives off paint without damaging it.
Nice to see you working on your own rig. Loving the build and I also like the way you're editing your videos.
Nice to see you on a project again, and to see Janelle participating as well.
You're learning! And you're being modest and humble about it. That's how to learn even faster.
Love your attitude man! Keep the videos coming You're doing great.
Rudy, you and Janelle work well together. Keep making these nice videos. 👍
Love seeing progress on the Rudicon. Great work Janelle. Maybe think about a new project vehicle for Janelle to manage.
Get her a heat gun for old dried on tape or stickers
I agree, more Janelle. I like seeing who else is dragged into these projects.
It's looking good. I wasn't sure if cutting out those fenders any more would be a good idea, but as always, you brought it together and made it look good. Yellow always goes good with purple, if the yellow was the trim.
Cutting fenders is always a good idea. Keep cutting until there aren't any left, and then you'll know what size tire is the right size.
Yellow and Purple are a good match but would prefer purple trim as too much purple looks gawdy🤣
Best video so far. I think you are right at the point where your former channel started to make waves. Try to keep it real and don’t let success go to your head. Congratulations, I can’t wait for the next one.
Nice to see the painters tape come off. Even slow progress is still progress. Keep moving forward Rudy!!
THIS CHANNEL ROCKS! Thanks, Rudy, for all the great videos. Can't wait to see RUDICON complete!
Yeah, that's going to be a lot better. One thing that irks me is dust in my vehicle and you guys work and play in the dust. Good to see you working on fixing that issue.
Great work Rudy and girlfriend. God bless you all.
Rubicon looks great. It's always great to see Janelle she is a hard worker and super Handy.
15:21 I couldn't agree more. He's ruined that XJ.
Love your channel Rudy! Looking forward to see the Rudicon (mostly) done.
Looks fantastic man!!! Y’all keep up the good work
White and purple will look good. I am glad to see you are finishing the Rubicon.
I think they turned out great 👍. Great job Rudy. And great camera work to the beautiful queen. Thanks for sharing you guys. Your both are AMAZING.
I enjoy these videos as much as I do MORR. Rudy has awesome fabrication skills for such a young man.
Hear you on the waiting for payday for parts thing, Rudy! It's not even a "don't have money" thing, it's a responsible budgeting "already spent the parts budget for the month" thing.
Thanks for sharing this with us all Rudy. I just bought my first Xj for a side project can’t waist to start working on it.
Coming along nicely and I’d just add fenders to keep mud and snow off as much as possible.

Took me a long time to figure out that last part. Spend far less time looking for stuff, and don't set fires when welding as well.
This channel is finding it’s own. Love seeing Janelle back on screen and love your realness
I am glad that you kept the 40's and adjusted for the flexibility, it's looking good.
I really like these problem solving and fabrication vids Rudy. Keep it up bud
Hey Rudi, good to see that the Rudicon is slowly but surely fully meeting your ideas and wishes. Paint the Rudicon Volkswagen LR9A Campanella White, in combination with black and purple it becomes a killer Jeep.
100%
So kewl that you and your lady are finally getting the jeep done cheers
Your truck is looking great keep up the good work. Great videos!

The RUDICON sticker looks fine where it is. It's centered over the arc of the fender.
I love your 'hack and see' methodology, I'm sure there's a lot of planning involved, but it looks gloriously unplanned lol.
I learned a trick from some professional painters. When masking hoses and odd shapes, use aluminum foil. Covers everything and then comes off easy.
thats actual a great tip. i often use plastic but foil would work great
Love your videos! Your talents & the little gal you have helping you are very fun to watch. We like your Doggy Too 💖🐕
Good job getting that 1/2 dun painters tape off Janelle! 👍. You rock!!
Heat gun

I've got no real knowledge of what would and wouldn't work, but a bent-pipe outer fender would probably look really cool! Keep up the good work!
It is great to see you and Janelle working together on the Rudicon. The finished product is going to be awesome.
I’m liking the white, easy to paint match too for the inevitable on trail modifications made by rocks n such. 🙏😎🤙
Finally finishing it up nice rig love the videos of you and your dad and crew fabrication skills

Bigger=Better! Could I ask what rear hitch/bumper you’re running? Love those bolt on end caps. Thanks! 😊
If I recall correctly, he built it.
Absolutely sick build man. Should get clearance now and no mud in cabin. That articulation is insane. Keep it up from Australia.
Really loving the white. But if you’re going white with purple accents you need to paint the wheels white with purple hardware
It just keeps getting better. Go Rudy & Janelle!
I think Robby needs to paint it!
He’d probably like to drive it again this year.
@@baumsquad222I felt too mean to comment something similar but I was thinking the same 😂

Why?
Dont do it. Rattle can it like the rest of us. With bed liner in the whole thing.
Loving the color white and black, not sure about the purple,,, looking forward to the truck build with your brother !!!
WD-40 will cause the glue on the painters tape to get soft and let go of the Paint without damaging (or possibly removing) the paint.

Why not wash all the mud and dirt off before working on it. LOVE youre videos!!!!! Keep em coming
because it below freezing there there in middle of snow storm

Word for the wise, use a hot water pressure washer and clean the project off including tape before working on it.
Rudy’s motto has to be “There MUST be a harder way to do it!”😂😂😂😂😂
i got ptsd and watching ur vids relaxes me... the weed helps alot too... appreciate the vids... keep em coming...

Why not just put in bump stops?
Because I needed to seal the fenders in anyway
@@Rudysadventureanddesignreal makes sense, bump stops would have been a lazy solution :)
They would limit the travel, which kind of defeats the purpose.
