I've used the 3M heavy duty kit. Works well but this process is much quicker. Going to order this kit after seeing this video. I've also sprayed the USC High Gloss Clear Coat. I do need some advice. This is for a 2013 White Boss 302. This has the Black reflective stripes on it. What precautions do you need to take into consideration when doing a paint correction with this vehicle and the black stripes? Thanks Brian

On a 2004 Corolla I used mag wheel cleaner, TW rubbing compound with a drill pad attachment. Then polished. Finally used a sealant to protect it. Worked great without having to spend a bunch. Just $5 for the mag cleaner. Had all the other stuff.
thank you so much I got through this beautifully the 15-year-old Nissan versa 2009. I love my car but I can’t see where the crap and it scares me to drive at night. I’ve tried five other products on the market and then I saw your video. When I went to Walmart to buy it, it said there were six in stock, but I couldn’t find any. I almost burst into tears. It’s terrifying to drive on this main highway outside of Atlanta, where they go 80 miles an hour without being able to see. The lady was kind enough to go in the back she did find some. I gave her a five dollar tip. I was a happiest person in the world for the next three minutes, thank you so so so much
I just now used this cerakote headlight restore kit on my E46 BMW headlights.... And they were so bad I wasn't sure they were even restorable.... It took way longer than 3 minutes sanding more like 20 minutes sanding on each headlight to get them ready for the ceramic coating.... But they came out looking really really nice....
Thank you. I finally used it today. Forget Meguiar's, 3M, etc.. Usually 3M products are good. I even own stock in it and buy their clay. But this product worked the best.
Just tried Cerakote and I'm shocked how well it works. Its MUCH more work than the box indicates; the real instructions are in the box. Mine came in a box, not a bag
Very good tutorial. Just make sure when you're applying the ceramic clear coating that you only move horizontally from top to bottom and wipe in a single direction using a 50% overlapping technique one coat only like the instructions say to.
This is another phenomenal tutorial and I am using this kit tomorrow on a 2010 G37. To replace and install the new headlamps is almost $2000. I am charging $150.
The Cerakote Ceramic headlight kit worked great on my 2008 Toyota Corolla! The headlights look like new. Just follow the instructions on the box and the advice in this how-to video, and your car's headlights will look great. I ended up getting the all-in-one kit at my local Walmart for $13.50.
And make sure to keep the box and receipt, along with pics of the finished job. It's comes with a lifetime warranty to not yellow or oxidize. If it does, you'll get another kit for free.
I just tried this on My '05 TSX which had dreadfully cloudy lenses.. I used the wipes and sandpaper... after the wipes and sanding, I chose to use Jescar correctlng compound with a microfiber pad on the Adams mini polisher. Perfect finish with an orange pad made them flawess. I sealed them with 303 graphene spray coating. I can't stop smiling!!
Finally tried this yesterday on my daughter's Prius; initial results are amazing, I am very impressed, though I only have one other brand (Autozone bought) that did not give such good results on my wife's GX. Will apply this to her car and see if better results can be seen. No idea on longevity, though some reviews sound decent...
This works like a champ. The headlights on a 2016 Hyundai Elantra were cooked from the Florida sun. I used the Cerakote kit and took my time, about 2 hours each headlight, and they don't look like brand new but pretty close to it. I would recommend.
Thanks for the video. I used this guide a year ago on a car I bought for my son. I’ll be using this guide again with my new/used car that I just purchased.
THanks for the video. I can not find a follow up from you (which you promised in the video) that includes info on if the product is still holding up. Please let us know ASAP.
The bag looks like the freeze dried food I take hiking.. 😁 Unique, easy and straightforward little system for those uncomfortable with other methods, and reasonably priced. Nice looking block too. Thanks, Brian! 👍👌✌
I have done lot of headlight restorations.i use 2000 grit sand paper and wet sand headlight. Compound and polish. Compound removes haze and scratches. Polish brings out that shine. Use Turtle wax seal&shine for protection or hydrosilex. Great results
I used this very kit, and the results were amazing. I was very very impressed, as I have has other vehicles and used other restoration kits, that I wasn't impressed with and I had to use a drill with these other kits. My headlights really did look like new, and was the very first product that did what it claimed it would do. I am speaking generally with other products that claim to do this that and the other. This cerakote restoration kit though really did what it claimed. I will take pictures tomorrow and post them so the results can be seen!!!
I got my old vehicles in order and in a line. Went through each step on every car before going to the next one. The step 3 wipes don't last long at all after opening the pouch... and don't take a big sniff of step 3 wipes to see if you recognize the smell... they hit HARD and nasty, very toxic. Anyway, I got 8 vehicles done with one kit. 6 of them look fantastic. The last 2 the step 3 wipes were mostly spent (3 cars done nice and fast, then by 4th car with the same wipe it was clearly about spent). The two cars that didn't get step 3 as well still look good, just not perfectly bright and some streaking.
Thank You Boss~! as Always, showing us how to, and Demystifying the secrets of the trades.. from Hazy to Clear in just a few wipes!! I will be looking into that kit! Excellent! :-)
I did this yesterday and wasn't really impressed. It didn't look like new, but it helped the plastic headlights on my mom's pt cruiser.. I give it a 5 out 10 stars. It's only $17 at Walmart.
Sweet!! I purchased two kits on Amazon, and was pleasantly surprised when I found the brand to be Cerakote. My Pontiac's headlights are so oxidized, yellow, and cloudy I bought two kits to be sure. If it turns out I don't need the second kit I have tail lights that could use some TLC as well. Thanks for all the tips for effectively using and applying this kit!! I'll watch it again as I begin the process on my own headlights.
How would you apply a ceramic coating to a brand new lens? I own a commercial truck. Time marches on, the aftermarket has made better headlamps (projectors with DRL bar and LED turn signal), and I'm wondering if brand new headlamp assemblies even *should* be coated with this to improve longevity.
If the coating does last as long as they say it does and the coating was available for sale only instead of the kit, would you rather use them than spray clearcoat?
It's too bad the headlight used for the review had internal damage. That makes it difficult to assess the quality of the end result. But, it is so cheap and easy, I am going to give it a try.
Thank you for this vid! ...and...Well....our headlights were so bad, the brights looked dim...Lol! I'm drying the car now for the ceramic part. My headlights got VERY foggy after wet sanding and rinsing. Hope that's normal.... 🙃
I bought the Cerakote headlight restorer kit but have not opened it yet. My headlights are just starting to oxidize around the outer edges and not where the light shines through. Would it work OK to just do step 1 only...that is, just use the oxidation remover pads only? I started to try that but somewhere I think it said using the pads (in step 1) would leave the headlight "cloudy looking", so I'm wondering if I should leave well enough alone and just wait until the oxidation is worse and then do all three steps?
2000 grit will not remove the factory UV coating. It only roughens the surface. You have to get more aggressive. I would be curious to know how long this coating lasts. I use glasweld GClear. Which is a Uv Hardcoat and 2 years later, the headlights look just like they did when I did them.
If your headlights are hazed over and yellow, you have no UV coating left. The wipes take the remaining coating,if any is left, off. The sanding is to polish up the surface and give the coating something to bite so it won’t run which is why you only polish horizontally. Same thing when using a clear coat spray method.
I just tried this and my headlights turned out worse than they looked before I started. Not sure if there was enough shade for the drying process of the third step and the only thing else I did differently was I did not attach the sanding disks to their holder when sanding as the headlights shape (2014 Nissan Altima) was awkward and I did not want to totally ruin the headlight. Can a second attempt help and does it need to be done in total shade or can it be done in the sun? Roy
I have a set of lights that clear is peeling off but not oxidized. I have a detail shop and was gonna just send them down normal do you think this kit is worth it over just sanding compounding /polishing and adding a ceramic coating? What do u charge for a headlight rest using this kit if you don't mind me asking
hmm interesting idea about the wipes that remove oxidation before we sand. Something we can do as detailers ourselves to make the headlight restoration jobs a bit simpler. What liquid do you think we can use to remove oxidation like these wipes to remove oxidation before we do the sanding process?
So what's the long term verdict? I tried multiple kits on Subaru headlights, none of them lasted over two years. Will this company send you a replacement kit if your lights turn hazy again?

I would recommend using clear paint protective film like Xpel. It keeps my fog lights from getting chipped. Looks crystal clear and should last several years or more. yes. wet sanding

buff with mothers mag wheel polish first to save a TON of time
Per Cerakote, the remaining clear coat scab must be sanded off first before using the oxidation remover pads.
based on experience do yo think that headlight could be polished to perfection and then a ceramic coat instead of clear?
