    Randall just buttoned up the engine bay on the 2 door, waiting on a base map from a tuner. From there we’re gonna touch on creating a fan shroud and intake. It’s lookin NICE 😮‍💨 then building out the interior is gonna be tedious

    I used this same kit on my 07 Highlander with heavily oxidized headlights. They came out looking almost new! I tried the 3m kit with the drill on my mother in law’s car and I think the Cerakote is even better. It’s cheaper too.

      I used the same kit on my old mk4 GTI and it stayed looking new for over a year before I sold the car

    I use DOT3 brake fluid with a green scouring pad before using the restore kits. It takes almost all of the oxidation. Just make sure to wear gloves and clean everything thoroughly before using the kit.

    I did this for my Miata and it only lasted for a few months and then went back to yellow.
    Edit: I also live in Arizona, so high UV environment.

    I just did this on my EK Civic... except I just spent $75 and replaced them. This is dope for cars where headlights are super expensive!

      Right ? Mine are $300+ each and that’s just for a Maxima. I just bought this kit. If my headlights were say, $100-$150 each, I would’ve just bought new ones.

    Any idea on the longevity of the cerakote headlight wipes ? Does anyone know if it last more than 2 years ?

    • @Greg3468
      @Greg3468 4 дня назад +1

      They claim it’ll last up to 200 car washes and is supposed to keep it clear for the life of the car if you don’t wash it that often. I’ve read some comments where people claim they’ve used it and a few years later it was still holding up. I guess it’ll all depend of the severity of your headlights, how well you use the product and the environment you live in. Arizona or Florida I’d imagine it wouldn’t hold up as well as the northeast due to severe heat and UV rays all the time.

    I've had luck with higher end resto kits, other than the haze was from the Inside of one of my lights lol not sure how to rectify that other than replace it

    I found a 3m kit at Walmart for $10 that has basically the same stuff in the box (only uses 1000/3000 grit, no oxidation (step 1) wipes. I've done 3 sets of headlights so far with great results.
    Another note, you want to sand in a circular motion, tends to look better when light is shining through them after they're finished, much more even.

    • @nicktodoroff7836

      It will help. But I still follow the sanding with rubbing compound and then polishing compound. If you don't have a buffer just do it by hand.
