Keep things rusty, except your tools!
Even if it ends up just for parts, that was worth the drive, good score.
Appreciate your passion....we communicated a very long time back on one of your previous uploads....i'd sure enjoy sharing with you pics of my '71.

I love this truck! Its a solid truck!
I love a good pre 72 390 in a High Boy. Awesome truck that deserved to be rescued.
had a 74 high boy,was a machanic in oil feilds years ago ,never let me down, love it
Nice, looks like rad support and inner fenders from 73-79. You see the bolt holes for the later style hood latch.
* If trucks could talk the storys they would tell. Good Score Austin . 👊😎👍
I think many of those stories would have us in tears....like being swamped by the sea
Or smiling ear to ear. Like the feeling of the hot babes bottom warming the center of your seat on weekends ! Or the pride of crawling up a grade your human would have trouble with ! Or the 12 point buck strapped over your hood as your human drove ya around showing everyone ! Or the heavy metal blaring out the door speakers as your human drove back roads in ya with all his buddies in your bed. Or the sounds of your human and the hot babe in your bed on warm moonlit nights in the summer making all those funny human sounds and giving your springs a workout ! Storys like that too ! 👊😎👍
With a bit of work and a few parts that would make a pretty decent rig. I think if the engine is past saving it might as well go back to being a manual while you are swapping engines anyways.
Put her back together and use it for a yard truck,or repair the green Ford even though it is probably my favorite one of your tucks!!
This has always been my dream truck since i was a kid. I leaned to drive in a stick shift tall boy when i was 9 back in the 90's.
Awesome truck, i hope to get one eventually, i kick myself for not buying one when they were selling for 500 to 800 bucks all over my town.
Nice addition to the fleet. Gotta buy those old hi boys while they’re still around.😎👍
Hey those short leaf springs in the bed will make great body slappers if you need to float out any dents on body panels. Tools are where you find them and an open imagination 😊. AL B.
Not too shabby, hopefully the diffs and the transfer case survived the forklift, shame it was swamped but you never know if it was drained and flushed it could survive, nice find
Cool old truck 👍 👍 👍 👍
Great score Brother!!!
I hope you fix the lady up. I think you hot a great deal. Thanks for sharing. See you next time.
Another awesome truck and I can’t wait for the future 70 crew cab video!
Nice score young man!!! I know it will serve you well one way or another!! Good stuff!!! Thank you for sharing your journey (life) !!!! Stay safe and God bless you and your family!!!!! Eddy
hope to see you work your magic on the engine..you sound pretty pumped, as is the viewers..surprising how great the condition is for a 70 y/o truck..market values for these have been climbing and they are rare to find..thx for posting..
Great project truck. More to devote your skill set too.
Hell yeah!
Good score.
Love my 70 Highboy.
@T.LELEGM.BackyardAlaskan- not sure how to chat on here. Let me know how and will. I'm a Neanderthal. Haha
Cool fix it up it is worth the effort 👌 💪
Nice truck! Don't forget to check the front pockets on those seat covers, I always find good stuff in there.
In January 1972 we were in the depths of Michigan’s winter. I was driving down the street one day with deep snow on both sides and I had just about had enough of all this GD snow & ice & cold. We all came to a stoplight in from of a Ford dealership. I looked onto their lot & there sat a brand new 1972 F100 4X4. I pulled out of line & drove onto the lot & gave the truck the once over. It was F100, 4X4, regular cab, long styleside bed, world famous 300 cid I-6 engine with 4 speed granny box trans. I was thinking this would be just the truck to get me about Detroits slippery snow & ice covered streets & I could put a blade on front & make some side money scraping parking lots of snow. Window sticker? $3600.00
!
And I bet to this day you're still kicking yourself not pulling the trigger.....
Good purchase.
BYA, a high rev wire brush, a sheet of 18 gauge, some 1/8th inch, a welder and some rust treatment will save the body + frame. So far the mechanicals look a bit janky but that's what sweat equity is all about. Nice find I'd say!
Nice, I was in Sitka in the early 90's and bought a 1973 Highboy for $350, drove it for a while until the tierod end broke then sold it for $350 360 4 speed
390's were available as an option to the 360's.....$$$
She is a real nice fix it upper hope you fix it here in pa you can not find a truck like hear you are real lucky to have her
Great video. Keep em coming!
Super cool truck man! Too bad it got full of sea water, but I bet that old FE will free up with a little work! My 68 highboy dumps rust on the ground every time you shut the passenger door too. It's a bump side thing. XD
@T.LELEGM.BackyardAlaskan- get lost scammer!
Love the color. My dad had an f250 2wd from 1972 think was same color. He use to pull our camper with it. Had a ladder rack we put aluminum fishing boat up there when going camping.
Bummer
I have a 70 highboy in the woods. Body completely shot, all the drive train and frame are good.
Cheers !!
We are on our second box though. Back in the day grandpa threw the livestock racks and hauled cattle in the box. We did the same with our 1971 F-600 grain truck with the livestock racks that we ordered brand new from the factory as well.
If that truck looks as good as it looks on my picture if it's not a rust-bucket? That is a truck that's worth restoring back to factory fresh that is a keeper!
Heck yeah same year as me!!!
A lot of Video content in that Truck. I like the color and automatic trans. It your date night truck.
She is a beauty !! Im jealous
Love vehicles that at least get another chance to have the parts on something else not made into a refrigerator.
That's what the natives in Montana run too. F250 on tall skinny mud n snow tires.
Three days ago I went on a road trip and market place struck me too I bought a 1952 Dodge Power wagon M37 4x4 cargo carrier. It's now sitting in my garage still has original 70 yr old tires and only 22 ,917 original miles. It's just fun to pick up something different every once in awhile.
I had 1975 250 high boy 4x4 with the 360 4 Speed I had it for years and years Best truck I ever own.
The truck is rad, would love to see you try and get the engine free and seeing if it will run, being that it was salt water it's pretty unlikely but you never know.
If you're ever in Minnesota, I have a set of brand new grille inserts for that truck. :) I am putting a 69 shell on my 71 instead.
Good to see that some one or some thing spent some thought and time to spiffy up this highboy Blue. I like it .. good wheels. Nice to see her GO .. to bad about the 360 wanna be a 390. thx for the video nostalgia, High^5
Nice, solid truck. Lot's of heavy haulin' left in her.
Yeah Brother, This one would be a toss up on whether to fix it up. But whatever you decide I'm sure it will be cool and can't wait to see if some swapping out action will happen to feed your other steeds. Cool find as usual brother!
She's a Gem😊
I should probably get one of these things one of these days
Another awesome executive, go to town cruiser, in which you can have some fun also!! You are one lucky dude!!
You gathered a lot of good parts. My favorite is the wet dog smelling carpet.
Best Wishes. 👌🏼 Mint !
Life just feels better with a new HB in the drive
My family still owns my grandpa's 1970, F-250, Custom, 4x4, 4 spd., 360 c.i. engine. Grandpa paid $4000 when he ordered it from the factory. Ours is the same color. It is called Aqua Green. The only difference is that my grandpa's has the black cab. We have 100,000 miles on it now. They don't like to go over 55 mph, because they shake so bad and they get 6 mpg.
It's a Shame the Cab and Drive shafts got messed up. Looks like someone cared for the truck until they too k out on the beach raising hell..LOL...Great find. Some Good parts. If that frame is still good. Probably be a good ideas to scrap it wire wheel it and give it a Primer paint job to save it. All that Salt will ruin it just leaving it. Rears and transfer case too. I guess it depends on what your plans are..Great Video Bud...
I bought a 73 4x4 has Dana 60's both ends . Rear was a trac loc
4 :56 gear . 4 speed. Belly mount 9 foot snow plow on front . When you said pickup with the forks and ko the drive shafts that's what happened to this one .
Absolutely beautiful beast ❤
Kool truck as is
Those r like gold in texas
Man that thing is pretty cherry, even in the rust belt of the Midwest, because they see a lot of rot, and the front-end damage you're talking about. That being said, this must be a gem outside the lower 48
I bet with the help of hydraulics or the heel of your boot you could pop that roof back up. I love the truck.
Good Find! Regards from Ody Slim..
Very nice find. Slap out the dents toss a power plant at it ya got another nice one for the fleet.
Long travel twin I beam suspension. Military Spec.
Hard to go wrong with the best trucks ever made. Actually that steering wheel is correct for a 70, 71 was when they changed to a 2 spoke wheel with a horn pad. If the 4barrel is original to the motor, than it would be a 390, as a 4barrel was never available on a 360, nor was a 390 available in a 4x4, could be a motor swap was done with the auto trans. Can't imagine why someone would want an automatic in one of these trucks, but apparently the demand was there, they became available in 73. But I probably didn't say anything you didn't already know
looks like some had a great time with the truck.
Another good one for your collection.
Gotta grab them when they pop up for sale. Thats how i ended up with 4 highboys. Thats the correct steering wheel for a 70’. Thats the standard horn button. The deluxe horn button had the half ring, just depends how the truck was ordered.
Stayin tuned!
🤠👍
With as many as your building, it will be some time before its called a runner again. Nice buy as I loved them myself, owned a good many of them new.. regret knowing now that I destroyed a few myself working them as trucks designed to work hard. Yes, you checked off areas that I am guilty of bending up while hauling diesel barrels to heavy logging equipment. Glad you found it
Nice one . looking good 😊
That is a great scoop. 👍
Sweet rig!
Our 1970 has the same steering wheel and it was the color of the interior carmine red and it was a three spd manual shift on the column truck originally and was switching to the Borg warner t10 4spd dump truck manual shift transmission
That is a real good truck. 🤟😎
Nice!! bummer about the snow load dents but still a cool old Ford
Nice find. I do the same I find vehicle not like perfect I see what they can be …little fixer upper …still not a bad find. Simple and easy interior.
The upper rungs,on the gun rack, make me wonder, what went in it,,,way stretched out. Cool, truck, I'm about to do a 73 highboy.
Hell yeah, brother the old girl was a good score. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
would love to have the whole truck got engine and trans just waiting to go in something like that
Amazing year Ford, likely the best
i have a 62 f100 4x4, divorced, bought from susanville ca., import to aus.. 1500 truck. 352 fe, guy was making 1 outa 2, gave up..has a 9'', should be d44 rear i think.. he put a lwb tub on it. ?. i also have an ausie, 75 highboy. i made into a swb married transfer, 5 sp, 351c, 4 w disc. 35,s. front rear recievers for winches, both rare here..75 is a cab tray, flat bed. canvas canopy. had bronco p/s fitted.. no parts for them, so changed for a land rover one,,just fits, damn big box.. niisan gu would also be a swap..paid 90 bucks for landi one..
C6's are damn tough units!
Excellent.
We need to see this crew cab you speak off.
Awesome old highboy. A little rust, naw the truck is Cherry 🍒.
If the engine is definitely locked up, pull those headers, 4 barrel intake and carb for one of your other rigs. Maybe you might find a inexpensive 390 somewhere.
Now you just need a longer day :-)
Nice project truck there. That can keep you busy 😂
I wonder how much of the roof and bonnet damage would pop out just by standing on it or lying on your back across the seat. Body work looks great all things considered
My 77 f250 has roof dents that I can pop out by hand, and wild turkeys stand on it and pop it back in every week
Fixs the rust and run it . A lot of good bones
What a peach!
Certainly is a parts truck....lots of great metal on it...good score.
Personally, I believe that the 1970 was the best year of all.
@T.LELEGM.BackyardAlaskan- Yeah, I got a surprise for you too!!
Chrysler owned New Process Gear who supplied the transfer cases and manual transmisson's for Ford and G.M. trucks.
Happy for ya Peace
Im just after an older truck does t matter whats in it iv been looking at the ol 300 in most trucks all the hippies that are getting into "retro" trucks want the V8, but i already ahve a 7.3l powerstroke so im after a good deal now 🤣🤣
Put your good earth stompers on, lay on your back on that bench seat, feet up and I bet you can take most of that bird bath out of the roof.
You can drop it by the farm when you drop off that falcon 😉
Can you do a walkaround on your 70 crew? I didn't know you had one.
Couldn't go to a better home
According to marketplace all highboys came with 390s
Well they’re incorrect.
@@BackyardAlaskan very much so i can't tell the difference between the 360 and 390 any tips
So with headers there's actually a remote chance it won't have a exhaust leak???
A gun rack... a gun rack. I don't even own *a* gun, let alone many guns that would necessitate an entire rack. What am I gonna do with a gun rack?
-Wayne’s World
Great besides bud.
For a high boy that’s as good as it’s going to get. People treated these trucks like shit.
