And it showed how strongly Simba associated Kovu with Scar and viewed him as a Scar 2.0, and Kovu's entire struggle was unlearning what the Outlanders taught him and seperating himself from Scar in everyone else's eyes
Also the thing about Simba not learning anything makes no sense. His issues as a ruler are not the same his father had, and his prejuice makes sense taking the first film as context.
Actually I’d say Simba did learn from Mufasa’s mistakes as seen by him being very overprotective of Kiara to try and prevent her from getting into the kind of trouble he did as a cub.
I mean, arguably he did have a part in his father’s death, so it’s kind of understandable that he doesn’t want his own daughter to end up in the same kind of catastrophic troubles.

@@chantald.6104 If you want to you can say the story with Anastasia finally severing ties with her mother and sister for good in Cinderella 2 after meeting the Baker is canon but it takes place after Cinderella 3 since nothing technically says it had to have happened in the "original timeline."
Mufasa didn't make really that particular mistake though. The elephant graveyard thing was Simba's own fault and the stampede was all Scar's doing and Mufasa protected him.
@@Nightman221k If Mustafa had any mistakes (and this is pushing it, I think) it was that he was too trusting. He was too trusting of Scar, who stabbed him in the back, and too trusting of Simba, who went and almost got himself killed. It'd make sense for Simba, looking back, to be a little less trusting, whether it was of the former allies of Scar, or of his own child's decision making skills.
Its because Zira killed his first child, Kopa, the baby you see at the end of The Lion King. The Zira part is all fan theory, but there was a cub named Kopa that was originally supposed to be Simba and Nala's first child. There were 6 books released that were about Kopa growing up and establishing backstory and lore for the Lion King. But they technically got retconned when Lion King 2 was released and they decided Kiara was supposed to be the baby at the end of LK1. Even though the scenes are different and the cubs look different, as well as Simba and Nala looking older in LK2.
Lion King: Hamlet Lion King 1.5: Rosencrantz & Guildenstern (honestly one of the underappreciated and better Shakespeare-related plays) Lion King 2: Romeo & Juliet (bruh Kovu is angsty and HOT...but your rating was accurate😂)
@@danyr1886 Yep In the original concept, Zira was supposed to let go of the cliff willingly, just to emotionally scar (heh) Kiara. A hint of it is still in the movie, cause when she falls into the river, she doesn't really look terrified, instead she's kinda smiling
I remember when I was in school my friends wouldn't believe me when I told them there was a Lion King 1 1/2. No one else had seen it; it was like the film where Timon and Pumba watch what they were doing offscreen during the original and then all the other Disney character silhouettes show up at the end to rewatch the movie, was a mere figment of my imagination. And I fell into the former category, when I watched it as a kid.
How do you have 169 Subs by making no videos and having your channel name be identical too a famous RUclips channel except with the added word "fan" at the end
Lion King 2 has a lot going on for it. Let me explain why it fits so well with TK1. Simba had an original son named Kopa and Zira killed Kopa which led to her and the outlanders banishment. He is protective over Kiara for this reason and doesn’t want to lose her as well. Zira was one of Scar’s most loyal followers and not only being more of like a mate figure but someone obsessed with him. Zira had two cubs Vitani and Nuka. After Scar saw how weak Nuka was and then a girl cub was born he found it upon himself to steal someone else’s cub who he felt like was strong enough to be his heir. Zira raised Kovu as her own because Kovu was the chosen one. This led to most of the events in TLK2 and how Nuka wanted his mom’s attention and hated Kovu throughout the whole movie. The end with the outlanders realizing they are one of them... it’s kind of like they are us... they are no different let’s give them a chance ...... Zira brainwashed so many followers similar to how Scar did.... and anyways THAT is why I’ll always love TLK2 because the actual TLK story does tie into everything quite well and it follows Romeo and Juliet when the first film followed Hamlet.
Man, if only they spent time explaining this during the movie. Would have been longer but I would soooooo watch a longer version. TLK2 was always my favourite song wise, TLK1 has iconic amazing songs but damn the sequel ones hit different
Kopa part is fan theory not real proves it happend. Yes there is book where is Kopa, but no proves Zira killed him. Later disney just replace Kopa with Kion who is almost same age with kiara and other cubs of lion guard serie .
I love this story but this is a fan theory, not cannon. Kopa is not a cannon Disney character, he was written into a series of kids books like 20 years but the guy who wrote the stories wasn’t writing cannon for Disney. He had permission to write the stories but he wasn’t working for Disney so all the characters he made up for his story are not official Disney characters. I still enjoy the fan stories about Kopa though, they’re very creative and fun. But just in case anyone wondered why Kopa wasn’t mentioned in the movies that’s why.
In lion king one and a half i laughed so hard when all the disney characters came because like when the lion king characters came i thought oh thats it and then mickey came and im like they are finished and then everyone else came and i was so suprised i laughed
How about after this series ends, you could do the "animated" cartoon versions of these like Tangled the Series, Hotel Transylvania the Series, The Lion Guard, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, etc.
these were my favorite Disney sequels as a kid. i own Simba's Pride on DVD bc it brings me so much nostalgic joy. the "deception....... disgrace....." song is iconic

when i was younger i only watched lion king 1 1/2 bc we only had the regular lion king on vhs so it has a special place in my heart and I was glad to see it ranked so high
The lion king two is my favorite movie ever, I’ve memorized all the songs, and I’ve watched it so many times. Also, when Kiara said “look at them, what differences do you see?” I believe that might be themed towards racism, I could be wrong, but that’s what I took from it.
Love Will Find a Way is the more obvious one. Upendi to me is more along the lines of Hakuna Matata, but instead of being about letting go of your responsibilities, it's about embracing the love.

Oof, I personally don't really like it. Please don't take any offence to this, this is just my opinion but, the guy who does the voice for the pup (can't remember his name) just sounded so old when the character is supposed to be a puppy. And I just found the main character (the pup) super annoying. Maybe its just because I didn't really grow up watching it. Idk.
For those of you who don't know, in The Lion King 1 1/2, there's also a hidden mickey game. And I would know. my siblings and I watched that until the CD wore out
I found the villains in simbas pride to be really enjoyable. They're all just so interesting and I love how their relationship to Scar was left open, we don't know who zira was to scar or why the outlanders still chose to follow him and be banished, all we know is that somehow scar had chosen kovu to act as his heir. I know the story was based around Romeo and Juliet, but zira gave me lots of Morgana le fey vibes with her raising her children as instruments in her revenge against simba.

@@chantald.6104 If you want to you can say the story with Anastasia finally severing ties with her mother and sister for good in Cinderella 2 after meeting the Baker is canon but it takes place after Cinderella 3 since nothing technically says it had to have happened in the "original timeline."
Arguably Simba being uber over protective of Kiara was the movie's attempt at having him learn from his father's mistake

In the original concept, Zira was supposed to let go of the cliff willingly, just to emotionally scar (heh) Kiara.

I completely agree, the lion king 1 1/2 is sooo good! When I was younger I actually liked it more than the original 😅

Thankyou, this really was needed to be cleared
Half of this is fan theory though....
Yes!
Seamus is a disney fanboy so i doubt he'll do the Hotel T series.

Out of all the endings to the Disney sequels, The Lion King 1/2 had the best ending ever. I wish we had more films like that.
when i was younger i only watched lion king 1 1/2 bc we only had the regular lion king on vhs so it has a special place in my heart and I was glad to see it ranked so high

epic vid Seamus my friend, but your singing is even more epic :)
I'm glad the song He Lives In You was included in the 2019 remake, it's such an underrated song
It was originally written for the musical! The musical is amazing!
The lion king two is my favorite movie ever, I’ve memorized all the songs, and I’ve watched it so many times. Also, when Kiara said “look at them, what differences do you see?” I believe that might be themed towards racism, I could be wrong, but that’s what I took from it.
"Are we the baddies?"-- Thank you Seamus for that.
I would say Upendi is more the Can You Feel The Love Tonight of Lion King 2.
I was expecting Upendi to be the one named
Love Will Find a Way is the more obvious one. Upendi to me is more along the lines of Hakuna Matata, but instead of being about letting go of your responsibilities, it's about embracing the love.
Who else really wants to see Seamus review the cinderella sequels?
Seamus: always there to make me laugh when I’m in my sad boi hours

The nightmare does actually serve the plot because instead of scar killing them it's Kovu. Therefore growing simbas mistrust of him.

Idk.
Omg YESSS
Please continue this series!! It's really funny and fun to watch, and then go watch the Disney sequels you talked about after cause I want to be more in on the jokes and have no self control...
