@@captainaryan26 Emo is a bastardized term that means too many different things according to too many different people, but in simple terms it's a movement that's mainly found in music mainly (but can also be said to have evolved into fashion, inspired by goth aesthetics especially from bands like The Cure) which is basically about EMOtional expression. It is music originating from punk music but has largely splintered off from it and now doesn't really have a fully cohesive sound but is mostly about lyrics, which are very personal and melodramatic. MCR is considered an example of emo, or specifically emo pop because their music is very poppy.
I hope people keep that energy cuz I plan to read his doom patrol and get it signed and I ded wanna talk shit with him

something about this hits deeper than just listening to the song, they're older, theyre different, and you mostly hear the audience, but this --- this hits different, and deeper. it's been two years since this concert, but they're back, even if just for several reunion shows, they're back, and with any luck, MCR and us will be like the rock bands our parents grew up listening to, who have their reunion concerts every so-and-so years, and we'll meet each other at festivals, we won't know each other, but we'll be there to see our favorite band, the one that saved us when nothing else could.

I was never emo, I made slight (not serious) fun of MCR and other emo music when I was in high school, and I still always loved and was impressed by this song and I'm so glad it's become such a well-recognized and appreciated anthem. It's powerful and it hits me emotionally every time, even though I have none of the strong fandom experience or other connotation around it. The song, standalone, is just an incredible piece of work and it really deserves the respect it gets. It's an incredible symbol of an era and it gives me chills and I love it. My favorite video featuring it is the one featuring the Hong Kong protestors. Makes me cry literally every time.

At first I was laughing due to the reaction to just the g note and then I ended up having a minor emotional breakdown when I remembered how much this band and this song meant to me and how glad I am that they finally decided to get back together

A whole generation reunited no matter which direction life had taken them...I was that 14 year old goth kid that screamed out in joy over feeling understood by strangers in a crowd like this. Now I’m 26, work at a bank, married, baby on the way and somehow inside still that 14 year old goth girl from a small town that felt so different from everyone else. Thank you MCR!

Indeed he is. When the teaser for the X anniversary came out, I remember some memes and such. But now, there were stories, people saying how Three Cheers and Black Parade got them through depression, the hell of high school or whatever. Now-parents listening to the songs with their kids.
There are many songs and band to cry to, and it's fine. If you cry to Queen or Coldplay, power to you. However, I feel that back then in 2004, MCR (and some other bands like Linkin Park) were the space for not only crying, but for shouting your pain and sorrow. And because of that, many people are with us today. So yes. He's just a boy who wants to sing this song, but he's indeed a hero for many.
