The big disconnect for this season started in the front office. Tom Gore's wanted to make the big splash by signing Monty & Troy Weaver wanted to hire Kevin Ollie from OTE.
Knowing that you can see how hiring Monty changed Troy's plans. I believe Kevin Ollie would have featured Ausar more & found more creative ways to use him.
Hopefully this is just a really rough start & the front office can find a way to make some positive progress with this team without doing anything stupid.

Jaden is great offensive talent, but the mistakes he makes defensively are inexcusable, so I understand the frustration that Monty is displaying with him. Killian Hayes is also getting better, and is so much better than Ivey as a defender, distributor, ball handler, and I'm on board with him starting over Ivey. Ivey just needs to play with focus and get better, and his minutes with come.

They gave Mont’ money a lot of power and now he’s figuring out what he has, as they try to conclude the rebuild with this group and learn a very difficult new offense. I’m surprised no one is talking about how they are leaning the .5 and their biggest issue is turn overs. Once that’s under control they will at least have a respectable game while having figured out what they have in the whole team and who they need to trade, cut, develop and everything else. The current situation is historically hard to watch but hopefully it makes these young guys grow up into some bad going to work boys.

Just because Monty is an NBA coach doesn’t mean he is smarter than everyone person not coaching. He is not a good coach. The Suns didn’t run any plays other set a screen for Booker or KD to get the ball, then stand around and watch them go 1-on-1. Monty’s bench rotation was also nonsensical in Phoenix. We had 2 of the best back-up shooters in the league in Lee and Ross, yet Monty just benched them for no explicable reason late in the year and in the playoffs. We had a terrific backup center in Biyombo who could at least contest anyone at the rim, yet Monty would rather watch Zion score 30 in the paint on Ayton and Landale. Monty also would make stupid decisions out the wazzooo with his timeouts and challenges. And u could go on and on.
Point is, Monty is not a good coach. He has an “in” in the league. And because the Suns players were good he got over paid.

My exact thoughts and I am glad to see others feel the same way. To me, that lineup is the incredibly obvious correct lineup. I'm at a loss as to why this coach can't figure this out. Or why he is clearly a worse coach than the last coach, or why anyone says that he is a players coach, these young men look f'ing disconnected from him entirely and absolutely miserable, they ain't playing for him or with him, it's as if he is not even coaching them. That is how they act, they need answers and fixes to match their effort but he wants to talk about shat like shooting. Not that his defense is not moving in transition, or switching correctly, or stunting correctly, or helping correctly, or going under or over screens correctly...this is the worst basketball I have ever watched in the NBA. I watch every night, multiple games, for a decade. This is as bad as any of those teams. They might beat last year's Spurs? Maybe? They can't beat last year's Pistons team, despite adding talent and a new coach, go f'ing figure. I believe that too. In a simulation that somerhow resembled reality, last years Pistons would dominate this team. How isn't it coaching, then??? This is awful. I don't think they can't beat a single team right now. I mean, Memphis is awful, they easily beat up Detroit. Wizards are awful, they beat Detroit by 19 in Detroit. Blazers beat them by 9. Nuggets beat them in Detroit without Joker half the game, or Murray, or Gordon. Two starters, haha. They beat the lousy Hornets, but before Rozier was back or Bridges, I doubt they beat them now. And somehow OKC!? Weird, super weird. Can they beat the Spurs!? I don't think that they can. Do they win 10 games? I don't think so. This is historically bad.

Tom Gore payed an average coach ( Monty Williams ) with a good roster in Phoenix as if he was Phil Jackson with a loaded roster. As if coaching one of the worst rosters in the league for the best decade would actually increase wins. Any competent owner knows that acquiring talent supersede coaching. Btw want dirt Troy Weaver has on Tom Gore to continue to keep his job..smh!
