KG had a strange game. He made a lot of difficult fadeaway shots because of his style of play with so many fakes in the post. He also guarded anyone, 1-5 so that made his defensive play very versatile. He did shoot a lot of midrange shots and shot it well.

@@brianholleran6340 Kobe had 10011 attempts from around the mid range in his career (charity stripe is the closest way to measure mid range without factoring in era) while making 8378 of them. Bird had 4471 attempts and hit 3960 of them. Bird was more efficient but that’s because Kobe shot more than double and also made more than double. At the end of the day it’s literally just a 3% difference. Kobe shot double the amount and made double the amount while only being 3% down, that easily puts Kobe over Larry. @@JawstR None of the numbers support your argument. Kobe is top 5ish for me, he isn't top 3. MJ, Bird, KD, and Dirk were all more proficient and smarter with their mid range selection. Kobe was a great mid range shooter, but he literally copied every signature MJ move and shot the same type of shots, but at a lower efficiency. We also have to factor in that Kobe's mid-range jumper was not great in his first seven years. It was not in it's complete form until the 2005-06 season. Kobe was a very average shooter his first 4 seasons, then became good the next 3 seasons. Bird and Dirk were complete shooters from the beginning, and MJ's jumper was much better than Kobe's in their first 7 years. Kobe's poor shot selection is why he drops down on this list. Do I think he could shoot middy shot for middy shot with MJ? Sure, like in practice, but MJ created better shots for himself when it was game time with better physical abilities than Kobe did. That's the difference.

    2nd in 98 with 12.3 attempts (45%)
    3rd in 99 with 9.6 attempts (44%)
    3rd in 00 with 10.3 attempts (48%)
    7th in 01 with 9.9 attempts (45%)
then he fell out of top 10 in mid range attempts as the league became more of a volume scoring swingmen league, but he would still average around 10 attempts and with a solid 45 to 50 fg% for another couple of years.
houston was never amongst the leaders in attempts, but he had a 4/5 year run in late 90s/early 00s where he would take around 9 mid range shots per game and shoot close to 50%. if he played today he would easily be the best mid range shooter.

mj will never be toppled as #1 lol, his attempts is almost x2 for most in this list at high efficiency.

Very good list. However, KD has played on super stacked teams his entire career. Easier to be efficient when defenses can't focus
on just stopping you. MJ, Dirk and Kawhi are all above KD as mid range shooters, IMO. Dantley might be too, but I was too young to
      watch him play.

The only time Kawhi didn't play with Stars was in Toronto. How can u say young okc was stacked, kd was carrying that team. If u say that Mj bulls was stacked too

I have a tough time believing that the best mid-range shooters were all in the last 20 years. Because guys like Bernard King, Adrian bantley, Alex English, we're literally mid-range bandits. How is it at the most mid-range specialized era doesn't hold most of the top five spots

Durant is the best mid range shooter ever. Right behind him is Jordan.

Mike Jordan is probably the best midrange jump shooter I ever saw. RIP Hamilton is probably a close second.
