Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the release of the upcoming self-titled debut album from Generation Radio, a colossal new rock group centered around the combined talents of Jay Demarcus (Rascal Flatts) and Jason Scheff (longtime lead vocalist of Chicago), on August 12 2022. Pre-order/save "Generation Radio" on CD/LP/Digital HERE: orcd.co/genradio (Please note that the vinyl release date is September 16th.) Fans of classic AOR in the style of Journey and Chicago are going to absolutely lose their minds when they hear Generation Radio's stunning debut. In the beginning of 2020, Generation Radio came together with the intent to form a band with a purpose - to bring classic 80’s rock back to life. As their self-titled debut illustrates, mission accomplished! Two-time Grammy award winning bassist Jay Demarcus of the hugely popular country act Rascal Flatts and Jason Scheff, who was lead vocalist and bass player for the multi-platinum band Chicago for over 30 years, are joined by drummer/vocalist Deen Castronovo (Journey, Revolution Saints) guitarist Chris Rodriguez and guitarist Tom Yankton in Generation Radio. "This music is the best of all of us. Everyone in this band sings and contributes in a huge way. Jason is not only one of my best friends, but he is also one of my all-time favorite singers, and his performances on this record are stellar. Deen is among the very best drummers in the world, but he is also a world-class singer. In fact, I’m convinced Journey heard him with us, and immediately wanted him back in the band! I’m kidding, of course, but we were fortunate to have him on this 'journey'. Finally, Chris and Yankton are veterans and some of my favorite musicians and singers. Chris and I go back to our early days together in Christian music. It is a true honor to make music with people who you respect so much, and hold in such high regard," says Jay Demarcus. "My partner Jay [DeMarcus] had the idea to fuse Rascal Flatts with Journey and Chicago, so that's what we did. Jay had several songs over the years that he'd co-written, exhibiting all his influences. There was no surprise he listened to a lot of Journey and Chicago! Those songs became the catalyst for the band and we rounded it out with some songs written specifically for the album that were in keeping with that theme. There's no other way to put it other than when you listen to this record you will hear a beautiful blend of Rascal Flatts meets Journey meets Chicago, not to mention having the best of the best in the production, recording, and mastering department. A team of all current hitmakers," adds Jason Scheff. I love watching Deen belt out a tune and hit those skins. You can see on his face just how much joy he gets from performing. A truly amazing but underrated vocalist. He’s tops in my books. 👊
It was an Indian summer, just three days past We were making love in the tall blue grass We had stars in our eyes You had moon dust in your hair Nothing mattered in this world, it was just you and me Underneath the leaves of that old apple tree I can still close my eyes And see yours right there But life happened along the way And it's no use in pretending That every fairytale Has a happy ending Baby, hold on, one more night Let's give it another try Before the lights go out in paradise Baby, hold on, take my hand Let's give love another chance Before the lights go out in paradise, in paradise Baby, we're still the people we were back then When we were running wild like a couple of lost kids With no money in our pockets The world was weighing on our mind But it's an uphill climb to Heaven's door It's a rocky road if you take it This love's worth fighting for And I believe we can make it Baby, hold on, one more night (one more night) Let's give it another try Before the lights go out in paradise (the lights go out in paradise) Baby, hold on, take my hand Let's give love another chance Before the lights go out in paradise, yeah But it's an uphill climb to Heaven's door It's a rocky road if you take it This love's worth fighting for And I believe we can make it Hold on, one more night Let's give it another try Before the lights go out in paradise Baby, hold on (hold on), take my hand (take my hand) Let's give love another chance Before the lights go out in paradise, yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah (The lights go out in paradise) Before the lights go out in paradise, yeah-yeah
It is about time, a band like generation radio comes along. And shows the world again. What real music is. Real songwriting. real vocalist. And real musicianship. Maybe this next generation will finally figure out. If you want to make something real and Lasting. you got to go to the distance. And take the time to become amazing at your craft
To quote the immortal Macho Man Randy Savage, "OOOOOOHHHHH YYYYEEEEAAAAHHHHH!!!" Can't wait for this to drop! Can't wait for the whole album! Generation Radio ROCKS!!! Love seeing these guys together. Thanks for making more awesome music!
Fantastic song! As a drummer who also sings lead vocals I can honestly say Deen is probably the best out there today who does both sing and play drums.
How refreshing real musicians. Real singers that know how to sing. An amazing music what a combination. I think Generation X needs to take some music lists
I’m telling you Deene needs to come back. His voice and drums playing is solid and the harmonies are like no other. Arnel in Journey is the lead they can find another drummer. With Deene in this group you’ll be number 1. When I heard Rascal Flatts way before they went big I knew they would be superstars. Deene please rejoin this amazing group of gifted Artists.
I’m glad that Deen has found redemption after some personal troubles that ended his time in Journey. I saw them on the Revolutions tour, and he knocked “Mother, Father” and “Still They Ride” out of the arena!
Fab!👏👍❤️Deen is a killer vocalist. Lyrics made me remembering a younger me. Maybe it's time to call that old flame of mine and ask her to listen to this song? And have an other go. Before the "lights go out in paradise".
Yes please!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GR is by far the best thing to happen in music for at least the last decade imo. Great songs and production. Seasoned musicians playing good music. Can't wait for the full album release.
Amazing, how good the harmonies really are. Will definitely buy it. I think with the Rascal Flatts crowd there is a big chance they will be successful which I really hope and wish.
Agreed, Flatts have some amazing hooks and choruses. Jason is steller with mixing harmonies and also writing. I believe everyone is having voice with this band. Deen looks like hes having a blast. Just a real treasure to be listening to these guys. Thanks Frontier
@@montemurphy2801 I got to see Arnel when they came to Tulsa. I guess he was more rested then, I really liked his energy. Hmm I'm not sure where you'd get it. I don't know that we have the business model that would actually play them. Same reason it's hard as heck to have any actual girl rockers over her. They shove them into contemporary and make them more pop rock, where as the Scandinavian or other Euro ladies go to rock academy and you can really tell. Might tick off the wimpy butts in our main stream XD
As a recovered opiate addict, I’m loving watching Deen just kill it after all he’s been through. This band is just incredible- every single one of them sounds like they’re at the top of their game.
Deen's vocal reminds me of Phil Vassar, with a little bit of gravel thrown in for rock & Roll. Great song, and love that Jay DeMarcus and Jason Scheff are in a great new band.
So refreshing to hear artists doing the style of music they were famous for when they do new recordings. I'm SO tired of seeing an old 80s style artist or band putting out new music that is all acoustic, folk, or blues.

Now that's a way to wake up on a Monday morning. What a nice song all around. Deen is SO underrated as a vocalist it's nice to hear him at the mic
Brilliant Song, bloody smashing sound, nice one guys.
It was an Indian summer, just three days past
We were making love in the tall blue grass
We had stars in our eyes
You had moon dust in your hair
Nothing mattered in this world, it was just you and me
Underneath the leaves of that old apple tree
I can still close my eyes
And see yours right there
But life happened along the way
And it's no use in pretending
That every fairytale
Has a happy ending
Baby, hold on, one more night
Let's give it another try
Before the lights go out in paradise
Baby, hold on, take my hand
Let's give love another chance
Before the lights go out in paradise, in paradise
Baby, we're still the people we were back then
When we were running wild like a couple of lost kids
With no money in our pockets
The world was weighing on our mind
But it's an uphill climb to Heaven's door
It's a rocky road if you take it
This love's worth fighting for
And I believe we can make it
Baby, hold on, one more night (one more night)
Let's give it another try
Before the lights go out in paradise (the lights go out in paradise)
Baby, hold on, take my hand
Let's give love another chance
Before the lights go out in paradise, yeah
But it's an uphill climb to Heaven's door
It's a rocky road if you take it
This love's worth fighting for
And I believe we can make it
Hold on, one more night
Let's give it another try
Before the lights go out in paradise
Baby, hold on (hold on), take my hand (take my hand)
Let's give love another chance
Before the lights go out in paradise, yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah
(The lights go out in paradise)
Before the lights go out in paradise, yeah-yeah

Deen sounds like a bit of Don Henley of The Eagles and both are vocalist while playing drums. Awesome track.
Can't stop listening to this song, and I don't want to stop.
Love this production. Brings back the vibe of “Believe it or not” by Joey Scarbury. I need more of this music in my life for sure.
