Featuring none other than Deen Castronovo (The Dead Daisies, ex-Journey, Bad English), Doug Aldrich (The Dead Daisies, Burning Rain, ex-Whitesnake, DIO), and Jack Blades (Night Ranger), Revolution Saints have now completed their incredible third album, “Rise”. As with the first two well-received albums, Rev Saints (as the fans like to call them) are bringing back the classic melodic rock style that thrilled and delighted legions of fans in the ‘80s and ‘90s and still does today! Inspiring, uplifting vocals, soaring melodies, and musicianship to die for is what you get in spades here. Simply put, it is completely badass.
Superbly handling drums and lead vocals is the one and only Deen Castronovo. Already renowned for his drum talents and backing vocals in Journey, Bad English, and more, Deen's excellent vocal talents are once again receiving a well-deserved spotlight on this release. On bass, and co-lead vocals on a few tracks, Jack Blades is well known for his melodic, yet hard rocking approach to songwriting and playing via multiple classic albums by his main band Night Ranger, as well as with the Damn Yankees and the Shaw/Blades releases. On guitar, Doug Aldrich lends his fiery guitar attack to round out this dream-come-true melodic rock band. Doug, who left Whitesnake after a fruitful 12 year run (including co-writing 2010’s critically acclaimed "Forevermore" release) and also of Burning Rain and formerly of DIO, has a deep pedigree and is one of today’s most respected rock guitarists.
You can tell by the name - and the names involved - that REVOLUTION SAINTS is not going to be your average rock 'n roll band. The project is the vision of Frontiers' President Serafino Perugino, who for years had hoped to work on a project where Deen would be the lead vocalist. Having previously worked with all three artists on different projects on Frontiers, having Deen, Jack and Doug on board together was a dream come true for Perugino.
With production overseen by more and more in demand in-house Frontiers man, Alessandro Del Vecchio, the recording process took place in Milan and in Doug and Jack’s own studios in California and Seattle. Songwriting was handled by Del Vecchio, Aldrich, and Blades with contributions from fellow Frontiers recording artist Dan Rossall (of UK newcomers PASSION). Of special note, the poignant ballad “Eyes Of A Child” was penned by Jack Blades and Tommy Shaw.
REVOLUTION SAINTS' music is played with a heart, soul, and spirit that shines through in the music. These songs highlight the passion and enthusiasm of three of the best all-around rock ‘n roll musicians in the game today.
Truly, lovers of melodic rock have a new favorite album on their hands.

I saw Jack last night with his "other" band, Night Ranger, last night, and he's still got all the vocals chops! It was a great show, go see them if they come to your town!

There’s a lot of talent in this band. I like the love songs and ballads with rippin leads and 3 part harmonies. These guys could do it in their sleep. I would definitely go see them if they came to town. I saw Night Ranger in 83’ at Grad Night at Walt Disney in Orlando when I was Senior in High School. It was a really great show.

@@VRGRID So true. Jack can sing for sure but this time the two don't gel at all here. He is more of a shout it out singer and when he tries to add some nuance to his voice it sounds forced and flat.
All I know is that Jack Blades has a few hit songs with Night Ranger and also with Tommy Shaw and Ted Nudgent when they were in (Damn Yankies) he can definitely sing almost as good as me! Lol

Freakin' love Revolution Saints. I hope they make more albums. For me it all started with hearing Deen sing Mother, Father at the Journey concert. Now I'm on a quest to find every track out there that he sings lead vocals on. Revolution Saints was such a great find!!
Are these guys going to be huge? Probably not but this is how music is written and executed, very little auto tuning and overdubbing. Be in the room and feed off each other. This is amazing

This band deeply disappointed me. The reason is that everyone only praises DEEN and DOUG and underestimates the great American hard rock talent of JACK BLADES. This wonderful song could never have been composed by DEL VECCIO alone, but it is a hybrid of NIGHT RANGER and JOURNEY that could have been achieved after this masterpiece album "RISE", which is the essence of good old rock. It's a shame that talented musicians were wasted as just DEEN's backing band, even though they had the chance to become a band that could have risen to a higher level. To me, the albums that followed this without JACK, while not necessarily of low quality, just sounded like generic HR with nothing outstanding to listen to.

The only thing I dislike is Frontiers' sound. Every single record of theirs I heard has the same kind of synthetic sound! Rev. Saints is w/o doubts great band with nice melodic rock songs, but there's no way Im gonna like the sound of the record. Can't help it. Sorry.
Deen Castronovo has pleaded guilty in a domestic violence case and has been sentenced to probation and counseling. Court records show that Castronovo, 58, of Salem pleaded guilty to two counts of fourth-degree domestic violence assault, two counts of domestic violence menacing, one count of unlawful use of a weapon and one count of coercion.
Castronovo has been sentenced to four years of supervised probation with a requirement that he undergo counseling for drug abuse and for domestic violence offenders. If Castronovo breaks his probation, he faces a sentence of more than five years in prison. He is not a nice person, but he is an ok drummer. LMFAO.
Glad to see Deen Castronovo back at it. He has a great voice and is one hell of a drummer. I remember meeting and talking to him when he was in Hardline. Wishing his band the best! Great song!
