I suspect there is some autotune, just not abused all to tell like the last three tracks they dropped. But I agree it sounds drastically better than anything so far.
@@lorenmorgan1931 pitch correction and auto tune are completely different tools. 99.9% of all producers use pitch correction to some degree, even on the most talented singers to tighten up their vocals. Auto tune is primarily used for people who can’t sing or carry a tune.
@@TheMrFett I have been an engineer for a long long time. They are the same really. Yes I use the tools (primarily Melodyne or if simple, ReaTune in Reaper), even on guitars. Autotune can be used multiple ways, automatic, manual, or note priority based (blocking out specific notes). I use it in manual mode only, and lift/lower to the root temperament, even on string instruments if something feels off. But using "Auto"tune would be automatic, and most engineers that know what they are doing will do it manually, and can make it sound natural. In the case of Rise, it does not sound natural at all, and cannot understand how that one made it to master like it was.
@@TheMrFetthave you ever actually used melodyne or auto tune? If somebody can’t sing auto tune isn’t going to help them sound good. Just sound in pitch. They will still sound awful. There is a difference. There is a reason why t pain was the best at the auto tune effect and it’s because he is a great singer. Better than Gary that’s for sure.

Amazing. I do like Extreme, but this new stuff is taking them to another level in my mind. This album Six is a fucking masterpiece. I can't find a weak moment.
Very well said. The "turned up to 11" songs have been great, but this one fills out the beloved parts of the band not already covered by them. A yearning melodic emotion that hearkens back to "Stop the World", "Song for Love", "Hole Hearted". And another wonderful solo that again sounds so *real* - the sound of hands and pick on the strings.

The first word that came to mind as I listened to this song was, "timeless". This song could've been a #1 hit at any point from the late 60's forward. It's lush, without a ton of production. It's upbeat without being cheesy. It lifts you up, but is also relaxing. It just feels good to listen to. It is...timeless.
It indeed is timeless. I listen to a radio station at my office that plays only rock songs and they update their play list like maybe once per 10 years... And out of nowhere this song came on... They don't do any introductions for the songs or anything... its just music 24/7. I legit thought its some sort of underrated lost gem from the 70s or 80s. What a song. Wow. They did it again. 4 singles in a row. Rock solid. As far as songs go, this is my favorite of the 4. While so many of us complain that nobody makes real music anymore, these guys are doing something about it. Here's to you, Extreme!
Dudes... Maybe the best song you guys have ever done. The drums rock. Great bassline. Great guitar work, Nuno. And Gary, this might be you're best vocal ever. The song really hits hard emotionally. So glad you guys are back.
Yeah man, most people have forgotten that this style of tunes were prevalent during the whole decade of 1980 and also during a period of the early 90s. What is good is good and always will be.
Gary... wow, at the 2:46 mark - simply AMAZING vocal part there! I've had this song on repeat for months now. I saw them last month in Orlando and wow, brilliant live!! I absolutely adore this track. It may have been 15 years since Extreme's last studio album but it has absolutely been worth the wait. The standard of their music is exquisite and exceptional, a joy and a gift!
Wow. They did it again. 4 singles in a row. Rock solid. As far as songs go, this is my favorite of the 4.
While so many of us complain that nobody makes real music anymore, these guys are doing something about it.
Here's to you, Extreme!
This should be the #1 song in the country. Amazing album boys!
A band from the 80s gives me a song from the 90s with an 00s style music video. What a multi-time experience.
Well Said
Amazing. got chills multiple times when the last chorus came in after the guitar solo. That hasn’t happened in DECADES!
Thank you Extreme!!!
same!!!
This is the biggest comeback of a band EVER. Thank you, Extreme
no that would've been Queen at Live Aid :)
@@RichardAndersonNewZealandQueen didn't comeback at Live Aid. They were still huge at the time, and just had a hit album the year before.
@@happiness1772 true, but at that point in time they had toured the world and were taking time apart...and then....
Dudes... Maybe the best song you guys have ever done. The drums rock. Great bassline. Great guitar work, Nuno. And Gary, this might be you're best vocal ever. The song really hits hard emotionally. So glad you guys are back.
Extreme is doing some HEAVY LIFTING keeping the 80s-rock sound alive
Yeah man, most people have forgotten that this style of tunes were prevalent during the whole decade of 1980 and also during a period of the early 90s. What is good is good and always will be.
Wow I haven’t heard a Chorus this nice in ages.
I want to live inside the way this song makes me feel. ❤️ So much love guys!
You guys keep raising the bar... Thanks for bring back real music. Cheers!
These guys are one of the best underrated bands ever
Without a doubt
For your kind information Extreme is not an underrated band.
Could be this summer’s big hit
Nino still shredding 🎸
It's so heartwarming to see Extreme come back so powerfully on this album. One of my top five favorite bands of all time... And this is exactly why.
Gary... wow, at the 2:46 mark - simply AMAZING vocal part there! I've had this song on repeat for months now. I saw them last month in Orlando and wow, brilliant live!! Meeting them backstage after was an honor. I've been a fan since I discovered Play With Me on the Bill and Ted soundtrack so many years ago. Vocals and lyrics are just as amazing now as they were then!
Phenomenal! The harmonies are fantastic. Gary sure can sing.
What a concept... A real honest to goodness SONG. With a wonderful solo... As Prince once said when I saw him in concert back in about 2004: Real music played by real musicians. Very enjoyable, loved the interview with Rick Beato, Nuno
Oh my God I love Extreme so much!!!! Their songs....melodies, rhythms, vocals/harmonies. They are so uniquely Extreme!!! I could listen to this song a million times if I had the time!
I know what you mean... Getting close to a million...
This album just keeps getting better love it 👏
Imagine my surprise that another song dropped today! I won't lie..... I had a tear! Damn, were you guys reading my mind???? Maybe, just maybe it's out there! This is fantastic!! As a long time fan, I'm thrilled for the new album and have been counting down the days!!! Thank you for never backing down; for being unapologetic in what you write, record, and release... this is why we love you guys so much! Real music the way it should be!
Tears here too!
I agree! This song makes me emotional. Tears in a very good way. They really knocked it out of the park with this song!
30 year fan. I get emotional with this song, it's sentimental!!
Not sure what it is about this song that is so addictive… but I think this may go down as one of their best.
The song of the SUMMER, RIGHT HERE!!!!! GREATNESS!!
Awesome track all round but love Gary's vocals 👌 Great job Extreme! ✌️
That Freddie Mercury bridge is the best I've ever heard Gary sing. He killed it! - signed Rick Beato
Other Side Of The Rainboooooow , i love the vocal harmony
That 90s sound !!! Great song.
it looks like the guy in the clip was in the friendzones for quite a while and finally got his chance. A music video with a simple but sweet story like this reminds me of the 90s MTV. This song and clip feels like a love letter from an old good friend, something that can make you smile just by reading the first paragraph.
This just might be the time when Extreme finally get the recognition they are due. It’s always pure tunes. No gimmicks. Incredible vocals , guitar & energy.
great song.. love it! ❤❤❤
What a timing! Extreme is killing it!
These guys still got it!
This album is looking more and more like it's going to be huge!!! Can't wait for its release!
