Seems to be a common searched term for new players. Chlorine setups are somewhat used for a more comfortable feeling while playing i think :D. What exactly do you mean by mechanical overflow setup? The filtering mechanism or another germ reduction method?
@@Luma_plays To clarify, I mean the chlorine room design where you have two or three full reservoirs which loop between each other, that prioritise input, and have an overflow output. No power or automation tech needed and it cleans the germs out just fine. It's a design from the compendium if you want to find an image
Also thanks for commenting. Yeah that is a good Idea. In this world we have a lot of free growing Reed Fibers so we can save on the polluted water. It is episode 10 now and I still haven't planted one reed fiber. We accumulated enough to repair the Atmo Suits till now :D That could change at anytime though.
Yes 1 element per tile is a core mechanic. If you mean gas infinite storage: A gas vent has an overpressure value of 2kg. So if you use more liquid than that you cannot pump anything in. A highpressure gas vent has 20kg as an overpressure value. So there you could use a max of 19.9kg of liquid. If you mean liquid infinite storage: A liquid vent has an overpressure value of 1000kg. Never mix gases in an gas infinite dtorage and never mix liquids in a liquid infinite storage.
@Luma_plays That's was a quick answer. Yeah, I'm asking for liquid. The too tile where the liquid vent is needs to be 1000kg of any gas? Or it doesn't matter.
There is also a larger 4 tank clean room that basically handles the entire process without the need for the germ sensor since it doesn't start and stop flow. I've never seen it pass germs at 4 tanks. Allegedly it works at 3 tanks too. May be good for pre plastic bases.
Got a tip for you. You dont need to use like over 1 ton of water to fill the liq lock. You just need a splash of lets say salt water and a layer of like 200 kg (1 bottle) of clean water. Personally i suggest 200 kg and 200 kg. Just to be safe in case of some very hot or cold things not flashing or flash-freezing lock water. The idea here is old and simple, the denser liquid will fill the bottom tile and the other one the latter 3. Also when dismantling it's a lot easier and faster to clean up.
@@Luma_plays i was the same. I got used to it somehow when they introduced brine/salt water, since they seem to be available relatively easy and early. But man, cleaning up 400 kgs of 2 diffent liquids is a lot less tedious than like 1600 kgs of one 😁.
Hi Davide thsnks for the idea, i had thought about that: If I connect a cycle sensor and then connect filtered toilet water there could be an unlucky timing where fresh filtered toilet water ends up in the purification room while the cycle sensor sends a green signal. Meaning: germs in the water pool. But yeah a filtration system that was based on cycle sensors in the first place would also work fine. But my setup would need a rework for that.
Yes, that's a problem, I think that can be solved by a not gate connected to a liquid shutoff inserted on the germy pipeline, when the cycle sensor triggers the clean water exits the system and the germy water isn't allowed to enter by the shuttoff. Great job anyway.
You can simply use 3 cycle sensors with automation wires on 3 liquid shutoff valves. You hook up one valve to clean water. One to the germy water you want cleaned and one to the exit of the liquid storage. The clean water one activation time 0 and time 1 percent. The germy one activate at 2 percent and run it for say 32 percent. The exit one activate at 68 percent and run till 100. The way it works is the cycle will start at midnight putting in a small amout of fresh water for flushing. Then you will get 32 percent of the cycle germ water in the liquid tank and it sits there. Watch the germs clean out and adjust if needed. Then before the cycle.ends it will flush out and done. Easiest is to make a basin for all the polluted water and from there sieve it first then hook it up to the germy input of the chlorine room, put some air filters next to the basin and you can also put the polluted waste bins in there.
1. You only need a tiny blob of water to seal gases. No need to make a pool. In a room 4 tiles high biuld a tile sticking out of the floor and 2 tiles from the ceiling next to it. Spill any amount of water on the protruding tile and wipe adjacent tiles. That is ok for most sealed gas rooms and you spend less liquid and less time to build and duplicants get a lighter debuff when cross the airlock. 2. Gas vents are blocked with 2 kg per tile, not per all tiles combined. And normally you need to put as close to a maximum as possible because tiny amounts of water may eventually dry up for some unknown reason(other than being destroyed by another type of gas). 3. Use an atmo sensor(inside) instead of a switch for an infinite gas storage. You don't want you pump to drain you power supply while pumping miligrams, don't you? ) Also decontaminating water is completely useless unless you want to make liceloaf which you probably only do at an earliest game stage. Chlorine rooms are normally used to decontaminate an oxygen from polluted vents at those rare occasions when you need those vents at all. And much simpler and safer method to decontaminate slime is a pool of cold water(
Hi Michael thanks for the long explanations. Here some of my reasonings: 1. The method with the blob works fine in areas where dupes are in atmosuits. If they are not the can exhale the blob to another tile or move it with other methods. I am assuming you mean a corner-lock-style blob gas lock. 2. Yes, you probably only need to learn the 2kg thing in most cases; but that is not all the important things to keep in mind for the infinite storages. You still need less than 2kg per tiles combined (mostly relevant for rooms that are 2 tiles wide and/or with multiple inputs of the same gas). The water will get displaced to the adjacent tile. And if there is another vent that vent will overpressure for a short time. Hence if you use less water from the start you can avoid that. Also the drying up only happens for 2 reasons as far as I know. a) the liquid being less than 0.07 b) the use of different gases in a single infinite storage (never mix gases or liquids in inf. storages designed for one type of gas or liquid) 3. You are correct. I learnt that too. I forget too often that germs in the air are not so important. so I could have fed the water to the electolyzer or so. I just personally don't like the base being germy. All the yellow germs everywhere makes me antsy :D And thanks good ideas that you added/implemented! Keep it going and see you in one of the next ones :)
@@Luma_plays Not only at the atmosuite zones, any places with low duplicant traffic. Also your airlock is pretty reliable if you put just a tiny amount of water onto all 3 tiles so chances that duplicants will move all 3 blobs are minimal but you won't get a 'sopping wet' debuff. Though it only matters on hard difficulty. As for the gas vents that is true: one of 2 vents in a storage may get blocked for a moment because of water fluctuation between tiles. But you normally connect both vents to a single pipe anyway so blocking any of them does not affect the flow. And if you put too little water those fluctuations may lower an amount at one of the tiles beyond minimum so a portion of water get's destroyed. I believe that happened to me at amounts less than 0.5 so now I pour 3-3.6 kg on 2 tiles combined to prevent any possible problems.

Hey Teddy. Sorry to hear that. I can't really help you from just that information :/ if you want to you can swing by the discord and we check what might be the piping issue. But I will go walk the dog first. Will be there in around an hour (if you want to)
I don't want to be rude. But really, who does purification to a dirty water? Germs won't spread in air, meaning dupes won't get infectioned. I feel kinda stupid when i see some one getting rid of germs in water. If we are talking about feeding plants with dirty water, the seeds and any item plant gives won't have any germs. Any ways, wanna say enjoyed the video. good job done here, chap.
I do agree with you. It seems that alot of new player (me included in the beginning) try to get rid of germs. So i delivered a method for that. I feel the longer one plays the less they care about the germs. But it brings a certain peace of mind that might help with ones gameplay stile.
@@GForceIntel Yeah i understand that very well :D. I tried building my own sour gas boiler (no video yet) and EVERYTIME I build it i made at least 2 mistakes. i build it over 9 times. no exception. Even with blueprints. 1 wrong setting an the thing melts.
@Luma_plays The most important part is priming the system. Otherwise, the liquid will bypass the first system and so forth. I don't know who created those systems, but that's awesome ingenuity. Whether it's cheating or not, it's up to the players choice.
Oh Pacu are weird in every Update. So i cannot say anything specific. Pacu moving behaviour gets changed alot cause they often don't behave like they should.

@@thomasvn Glad that helped. I understand. Sometimes even when you build it you can't follow the piping :D.
I just super heat the polluted water and it creates water and removes the germs in a small room.
Hi Dustin, what did you use to superheat the water? And after that you then cool it down again? That takes a lot of energy in my opinion.
I can't get the water loop at the infinite storage to work and i don't know why :(. I follow your step exactly
Hey Teddy. Sorry to hear that. I can't really help you from just that information :/ if you want to you can swing by the discord and we check what might be the piping issue. But I will go walk the dog first. Will be there in around an hour (if you want to)
@@Luma_plays that will be great, i just joined the server.
My gas is coming out through the one I don’t want. I’m following your method but no matter what I do chlorine goes out from the bottom?
@sandyleyva1447 this one has been a while 😅, what exactly do you mean: the powerless gas filter, infinite storages or the liquid locks, etc?
@Luma_plays never mind I got it to work. Sometimes, the build is just too fast, and one wrong pipe messes the whole loop.
My pacu wont move and will always idle in my pool why
Oh Pacu are weird in every Update. So i cannot say anything specific. Pacu moving behaviour gets changed alot cause they often don't behave like they should.
Just use bleach stone for chlorine the room? Probably gonna save 5cycles of work
Yeah that would have been the easy way. Good suggestion. In this case it was deliberately though. Because I had already shown that in a short video before and I wanted to show more different approaches :)
Bleach stone off gases to 1800g. He wanted over 2k to make sure nothing else off gases in the room.
Fucking Burt... 🤣
Hi :)
Hi there, hello.
