Like how the notification center's backdrop used to look, how the initial setup looked, the metal piece on the volume bar (how its reflection changed with the motion of the phone), i still miss the stitched leather look, so beautiful. 😪
Apple is slowly returning some semblances of depth to the device. Look at the new segmented controls in iOS 13 with drop shadows. They're only returning bits of it at a time as to not anger the Twitter girls Apple has been known for targeting recently. Within 10 years, we should have a look similar to old times.
