Great stuff, Glyn, reallly thought provoking and good you showed all the kit you use with the i-phone. Also the upscaling technique withe the pic was a key part, I thought. Thanks, very helpful.

Incredible. I'm just back from o/s where I travelled with a camera backpack - camera, lenses, filters, batteries etc. and that was pretty heavy. Along with the weight of the camera backpack and its contents you are always thinking about the security of all the kit.
The results you can now achieve with an iPhone (or equivalent) and some add ons is pretty amazing. The advancement of camera phones + great editing software is definitely the way of the future. Brilliant video Glyn.

I was attempting to understand whether your black and white photograph was a choice or was required given the original iPhone source of the image. If I were to use your technique, could I have used that process to do a color image or would a color image be more problematic? Thanks!

They each have a place (I use my Olympus with the 40-150mm F/2.8 for motorbike racing photography for example) and as you say, the phone's are only going to keep getting better and better. excellent point about mirrorless vs iPhone, at that point it's virtually the same thing except for the shape of the plastic case that houses the sensors and electronics boards. also easy to imagine someone clicking an iPhone into a 3d printed "camera" body just to make it look like a "real camera" for fun. but agree the tinyrig jigs accomplish the same thing without the silliness of 'what does a real camera body' look like. personally i'm still using a DSLR because i like the analogue aesthetic of mirrors and prisms, and recently got a K1000 for the full mechanical and film experience. but art is art, and i would never claim that the new iphone isn't a real camera (even though it may not bring me the same joy and help evoke a focused creative state like a traditional camera body can).

Ok to answer your question ...
      1) In Lightroom on the iPad before you ''Edit in Photoshop' look further down the menu and choose 'Export As'
      2) There change the settings to TIFF , Largest Available Dimensions , 16 bits
      3) Also at the bottom choose 'More options' where you can set the Colour Space.
      4) When you're done tap the ✔️ and then go to 'Edit in Photoshop' 👍🏻

If we pixel peep we have failed . The impact of the image should speak for itself . I’ve found Topaz AI is a real game changer , not only for IPhone images but also smaller sensor drones (Mavic mini pro 3 ) , thanks for hardware info , I’ll be dipping into wallet shortly . I believe the iPhone can sense whether your using tripod and changes ISO ? There’s something to be said regarding two eyes 👀 for composition vrs 1 eye . Il believe there is a distinct advantage to this , which gives the large screen of the iPhone the edge (IMHO) . Great video 👏🏻

Yes, it's doable. It is even doable with much cheaper phones. It's fine for static cases and a limited focal range. But you still need additional tools, such as lenses, camera housing, tripod and software to get good results. For the same price, today, you will get a better more versatile camera. The print size in this case is only depending on Topaz, not the camera used. You can get this result with any 12MP sensor.
