That sound like a very reasonable price for what it offers. I was adamantly against any camera with a flip screen until I tried one. Now I prefer them even for photography.
Hah! I choose cameras for the lack of Flip screen, tilt for me. (I do very little Video). My latest camera has a Flip screen which I was not thrilled about, but it has won me over! I use it taking candid portrait shots of my family. I hold my arm straight down, look at the flipped screen and shoot, a lot of fun and some good shots as well. (Sorry not quite what your vid was about)
As always, there are pros and cons of everything, and I wish I could have them all! I was dead against flip screens as I solely shoot stills, but I’m currently using a flip screen camera (X-H2) and have got some great candid shots BECAUSE of the flip screen. Yes I have to look to the side rather than straight down when shooting low which is a bit of a pain, but I still get the shot, I just have to recalibrate my brain a bit. Likewise if you don’t have a flip screen you can still get similar functionality by using your phone as a monitor, the only issue with that being you won’t necessarily have the time to set it up before the shot has gone. I wonder if a camera manufacturer will ever release a dual screen camera? I think it was Mercedes that had cars with two sun visors - one that blocked the sun from straight ahead and another that you could move to the side so you didn’t have to choose. It would add cost and weight but would at least solve having to choose one or the other!
I recently picked up a DJI action 4, and I will never use my A7IV for vlogging again, and when it comes to selfies… phone is easier. So yea I’m with you I don’t really care for a flippy screen anymore, I’d rather have a screen like the XT3/5 for pictures to shoot down low
It's great not having to worry about charging something other than your camera though. I like to grab and go and the flippy screen is beneficial for that. I can see this being useful for people trying to eke more life out of a fixed screen camera or something though, or for street shooters who absolutely must have the flip up screen to use as a waist level viewfinder.
Cheers Eric, it’s Sean in Atlanta! I absolutely hate that flippy screen and I will try very hard to only buy a camera with a tilt screen! Different strokes, huh? Hahahaha! Sean
A7RV screen is pretty nice, quite a decent solution to offer both options while still providing a good robust feeling product. Maybe it will become the new standard? 🤷🏻♂️

Great video! Thanks for your review!

Sony A7R5 screen is the answer to this
@@ericrjenningsExactly that, so thanks for pointing it out. Guess I hadn’t discovered it due to the A7R5 definitely being outside my hobbyist budget!

Thank you for this insight.

I agree.
I think the OM-1 is about to leave 🤣
@CAPTOURS no way. Why would you say that
@ericrjennings it has a flip screen. I feel another change on the way. You are right about the monitor but.
@CAPTOURS nope no changes. OM-1 stays for now at least

That really is the best screen option.
It's great but it definitely adds bulk to the camera so not a solution for all models
Hi! What type of light did you use? Сan you create video about it or post with images?
Good tip!
