The Supernova ZoelDrive can be a boost, a distortion or an overdrive. It all depends on how you want to use it and with what amp. You can pull thick 'tweed' tones from this pedal with something like a Deluxe Reverb, but it can also be a killer boost to tighten up and saturate something like an AC30 or Plexi. Yes, it is reminiscent of the Hermida Zendrive, let's not beat around that bush. But there are sonic differences and the Voice toggle is a much faster way to tailor your mids - smooth or a little grittier. The Supernova Zoeldrive is built to last and it looks pretty rad too. Good stuff.

Despite my affection for pedals and 'real' amps, I haven't used a traditional pedalboard or amp since around 2013, ironically. I run Fractal Audio's FM9 on stage. It makes touring and reliability infinitely less troublesome and gets the results I look for.
