Alyssa Fizzy this was made 2 months ago when Pandora first opened and at the time, no, there were no college program cast members. So I was not incorrect, thank you for updating the response because, yes, now we do have a few college program cast members in Pandora.
I know that they actually ARE scanning your face, but the likeness seems so far away from the real face on these. I wish they were able to put your actual facial features onto the product. It seems a little pricey for a toy that doesn't end up looking at all like you. The woman who ran the booth did a tremendous job though. The employees at Disney are so far beyond any other theme park I've ever been to.
2 year old comment, but I just found out about Avatar Maker through a recent video someone made. I'm pretty sure that scan they do is just for the face that pops up on the screens. They probably just have a few pre-made faces in the back, and they pick the one that matches the scan the best. 3D printing a custom head would probably take way longer than they tell you to wait. Not to mention the time it would take to turn a real head into a Navi, and paint it. I feel like the $75 it costs is probably more for the experience. You're paying for the experience of sitting in the kiosk, getting scanned, playing with the ipad, listening to the cast go through their script, getting a plastic card, walking up to the ending dispenser, having the dispenser 'scan' your hand, placing your card in, and getting your toy. The toy is probably about $20-$25 given the custom features you wanted. It's just a basic toy you could get in Walmart, with a custom eye color, stripes, and specified hair. I mean, if it really was custom, they could easily let you draw your own custom stripes onto the face. Instead, they just have a handful of presets to choose from.
Just to clear things up, Pandora is still very new. It needs a lot of improvement, they still need to fix the stuff they have ( including these). The action figures need work but they are slowly making it better. For now it's kinda cool to see that they *can* at least do this the way they do.
The facial scan part seems unnecessary. You just get to customize your own Avatar figure, there's not a lot of room for the incorporation of your own features. It's probably all a rouse to charge more money, they just paint on the eyes and stripes and glue on whatever hair you choose to a generic face.
I was thinking that too, like at first I was all excited because I was thinking "ooh they'll 3d print the scan of your face but alter the eye size and nose to make it look like a Na'vi" but no :( it's all for show and the figure looks nothing like the person.
Honestly, it's pretty disingenuous of Disney to make people believe that their facial scan is going to be incorporated into the figure. If they want to charge $100 for a customized Avatar action figure, whatever. But to trick people into believing that it's going to look like them is pretty messed up.
yeah I've been watching avatar maker videos for a few hours now, and looking at photos online. It's really hard to see the similarities between the navi faces and the humans, besides them being adult/child/male/female. I guess they figured it would be hidden by the change in the nose and eyes
Thomas Desmond all avatar hair in the movie has one plat I think it's been so long since I've watched it so maybe they got the amount of plaits wrong in the hair lol
WDW News Today That's really sad, you pay so much for something like this and they can't quickly fix something like this?? If it's like people say and it's just filling out customization orders you think they could get it right the first time...
Who knew that Pandora was actually in China...(made in China on the box lol!). It's a long process for essentially a doll that bares no resemblance to the person whatsoever (basically 7 standard body shapes with the different heads / hair type fixed on behind the scenes). If you have time and are really into avatar then I could see the attraction but meh, will buy a t-shirt that glows in the dark instead I think.. Thanks for posting the clip though as can steer me 8 yr old away when we get there lol!
they actually scan your face but unfortunately Pandora JUST opened so they have not completed the actual facial scan to action figure process. Be patient and it will be here soon!
That looks like some shitty app game man, you gotta be kidding me disney. Great job to the employee though, she was trying to make the best out of a clearly underwhelming experience lol
Can't say I've been at all happy about the Avatar addition to Disney, but I will say that a lot of the stuff they're doing there gets me all the more excited for Star Wars Land! I definitely will be getting an action figure of myself over there, as I'm sure they'll be making 'em. They should be better likenesses if they are human figures too.
I wish Disney would treat their staff better. Every single cast member creates the magic - this girl is excellent, she's made me want to spend 80 dollars on a stupid doll
Idk what you guys expect, a crystal clear imagine of the person on the toy? It's a cool concept and better than buying a generic one. Also, it's $79.99 at Disney, not Walmart. I think the price is more than fair for the experience and the product you get at the end.
yeah, some people think that there might be a Guardians of the Galaxy coaster replacing Universe of Energy, but odds are no Marvel because of the Universal contract, certain marvel properties are off limits for Disney parks east of the Mississippi
RedLighting256 Animation the thing is is that gotg is not one of the characters they can't use. but I've heard that there have been big problems with the project and management issues and other stuff that looks like it could shut down the project, so we still have hope!
yeah "future world" is basically "what people thought the future was gonna be in the 80's and now it looks weird and outdated because they were laughably wrong"
How much do you even pay for this? I live in HK and I don't earn much for a living so I know I'll never be able to fly over there just to experience something like that...
I was super excited to get one of these until i found out they don't actually look like you in the end. It's been said a dozen times n the comments already, but why aren't they doing actual 3D printing with these? I guess the answer is because the masses will pay for mediocrity so why bother going the extra mile.
I keep watching videos about this, and I keep skipping to the end to see the result. It's funny, not a single one I've seen so far actually looks like the person. I'm like 90% sure what the deal is, is that they have premade heads to choose from, and they grab whichever one is the closest to the person. Then they add on the hair, eye color, and stripes. I'm fairly certain the scan they do is only for the 3D face that pops up on screen. I mean, it takes about 45 minutes to complete once you're done with the 'scan' and customization process. A program turning your face into a Navi face, 3D Printing the head, and custom painting the head....is gonna take longer than 45 minutes. 3D printing alone will take longer than 45 minutes. On top of that, I feel like it'd cost way more than $75 if it was actually a completely custom face. The $75 is mostly for the experience. You're paying for the experience of having your face "scanned", having the cast go through their script, getting a cheap plastic card that looks neat, playing with the ipad, puting your hand on the screen at the end, placing your card into the machine, and getting your toy. The figure is probably worth $20 at most. To be fair, this whole thing is probably mostly for kids. Kids don't care if the figure is a perfect match to their own face. Kids are gonna like it because it's a toy. The part the kids like, is the process.
Can't remember his name.. he's an imagineers or animation guy ... he's a big wig at Disney and on most of the bonus features on all movies! - Look at beginning he's in the chair with the cool huge earring!
Miah Crosby That's Joe Rohde, my brother and his girlfriend saw him at animal kingdom once not sure why he was there , he's best recognizable by the cool earring! But my brother didn't even recognize him until he told me there was this guy with a feather earring at Disney and everyone was taking pictures with him 🤦🏻♀️ I would of noticed him instantly I'm such a big Disney fan and I've seen him in the documentaries
yes, spend money and time thinking your getting yourself as an avatar action figure, but they just give you a premade doll with the features you chose lol
it does not look anything like the individual. the only thing that's customized as Stripes hair and eyes. everyone's shape of face will be exactly the same. looks like you had fun though!
So basically they just pick basic features like male or female, type of hair, stripes etc.. and then some neckbeard sitting in a stockroom grabs it from a shelf and puts it into that machine? The facial recognition thing seems to do nothing.
Missing out. Who said you will make it past 50 years old? Nobody. If you save up for retiring and you don't make it to retirement? Those money will be a waste lol
I never understood why they made this a part of Disney...I have nothing against it it's just that it seems a bit outta place. An averagely popular movie that happened years ago was their first choice on a new addition to the park? Can anyone explain?
he looks so disappointed and annoyed from start to finish. also my thoughts on this are simply that it's pointless. I thought they'd get facial features from the person.
I am a spoiled brat. I want this so much, but I also want the Shoulder Banshee, and I got two games that both cost $20, and I got a 10 dollar game last night.
Cast members really make Disney the best theme parks and she was probably a College Program too.
She was wonderful and made the experience so much more than it would have been without her showmanship.
Pandora currently has no College Program Cast Members
Ya that makes sense for now.
Alyssa Fizzy this was made 2 months ago when Pandora first opened and at the time, no, there were no college program cast members. So I was not incorrect, thank you for updating the response because, yes, now we do have a few college program cast members in Pandora.

This Cast Member is so extra and it's great! Every Cast Member should be like this!
Cole Haskins “Say hi to Earth for me.” So good!

TXF chadtronic?
Jacob Van Ness they can’t look completely like you because the still have to look like Na’vi
You're too stingy or poor that's all lol.
Learn to save more money lol
Lol 121 thumbs up and only 4 subs lol epic failure lol
Just to clear things up, Pandora is still very new. It needs a lot of improvement, they still need to fix the stuff they have ( including these). The action figures need work but they are slowly making it better. For now it's kinda cool to see that they *can* at least do this the way they do.
The best part about going to Disney Parks is the Cast Members, they try to make everything positive and enjoyable!
this is so cool! the castmember was very in character

INVISIGOTH Luv your vids by the way....
TheRealConcertKing yeah but it's all for the experience
I literally thought of this idea but for star tours like make yourself a Jedi or sith action figure
Cast members always make Disney 10x better because there so good at there jobs
Didn't u get the Elvis hair? Why it come out with dreads?
Thomas Desmond yeah he did Elvis hair not dreads
Yeah, we had some issues and I didn't want to wait to fix it lol
Thomas Desmond all avatar hair in the movie has one plat I think it's been so long since I've watched it so maybe they got the amount of plaits wrong in the hair lol
WDW News Today That's really sad, you pay so much for something like this and they can't quickly fix something like this?? If it's like people say and it's just filling out customization orders you think they could get it right the first time...
I wish there was a website that let you make your own figure with presets.
Who knew that Pandora was actually in China...(made in China on the box lol!).

Alison Melrose good point
1:57 - girl in the P!ATD shirt got me, I forgot what I was watching and just started staring at the shirt
Holy crap. Not designed for high volume. Just take my picture and make the 3d printed figure.
All that time, plus 35 minutes to get it.
You sound very impatient lol
How cool Joe Rhode was there too!!
That took a while. I think when I go there I'll just get a turkey leg or a Dole Whip.
Kodachrome40 Hell yeah on the Dole Whip!!!!!!
Have you tried the lufru brew at gastons tavern??
Amazing!!
You sound poor lol.
Sounds boring to be poor lo
I eat the whole Turkey leg and people look amazed if it being down to the bone
@@bowens9211people who put people down for not having money, usually haven't got a pot to piss in themselves. Fact
I am green with envy right now! I really want to go to Florida now and explore the World of Avatar at DisneyWorld.
Um didn't you got with a different hair style?... plus how much did it cost?
Raven about $80 I think
yeah he picked a pony tail why did he get the cornrows or whatever
So do all the avatars look the same and you just customize them or do they actually design it based on your face?
Athena Jaxon they are all the same. the scan is just for show
they actually scan your face but unfortunately Pandora JUST opened so they have not completed the actual facial scan to action figure process. Be patient and it will be here soon!

what happens during the avatar maker experience? Do they poke a needle into you?

Haley Cox no it's not really, all you do is customize the hair and eyes. The face is the same as any other
0:25 just casually filming Disney Legend Joe Rohde
God, so much new tech goes here. meanwhile Epcot still has outdated tech😑😑😑
The epcot renovations are coming so they will probably add stuff like this
RedLighting256 Animation I sure hope so. and NO MARVEL PLS!!!!!!!

I'm pretty sure they just give people a boy or girl navi doll and the face scanning was just to make it seem like the doll is specifically for you
thumbs up for Keisha!!!
Sounds like Fun
the person at 2:03 in the back has me dead by their shirt omg lol
it's cool and all but your better off marking your own avatar bjd or buying one offline
Absolutely, a custom would be cheaper and more accurate than this lolol
I hope I get a chance to do this when I go next month
Can't wait to get my self one of these
I have one blue eye and one green eye. Would they be able to do that?
Nope, they are premade and they pick based on the features you select.
Spend your money on the Banshees. They’re REALLY cool.
I am going to go there next year
what is the price range on these things???
How much are the action figures?
$80
I thought Universal Studios opened the rights to Avatar

how much is it?? i want one 😍
I think they are using a 3D printer
How much does it cost
Why is the guy at the end not in costume?
matt k. He is probably a manager or something important
Drew Gates All personnel who appear on stage should be in costume. That guy is destroying the show.
Can't wait to get one 🤗
I WANNA GOOO!!!!!!
