It's fun to watch you get excited about learning the lore of 40k. It reminds me of when I first started reading about it. You have an infectious enthusiasm and I hope you enjoy continuing to learn more about the grimdark future. I would agree with the recommended reading. Ciaphas Cain is probably the closest you will get to a "fun" or "comedic" book. I would suggest that one if you pick one up. Just my humble opinion.
Welcome mate- I've been a fan of the WH40K for over 35 years- never really did much table top war gaming, went through a phase of miniature painting (but wasn't very good) but there is so much else to immerse yourself in to- video games, books and films/animations. We all worship in our own way. Emperor Protects.
I think the reason 40k fans haven’t shared much about the lore of the series is Bricky wasn’t around yet to explain it in such a simple, summed up, and enthusiastic way. There are so many warhammer books that you could fill an entire library.
Everyone always leaves out the little detail that Eldar used to reincarnate. Like, full stop. They're so powerfully psychic that - pre-Slaanesh, when the warp was way less chaotic - their souls would eventually reform and be born back into the world. Hence all the crazy murdersex. They literally had no fear of death, because they knew they'd just come back.
To under stand the difference between the materium, the immaterium, and the web way is to think of it all as a book. Consider the known universe (the materium) as a one page in a book and the warp (the immaterium) as another. The webway is that little sliver of space in between the two pages. It’s connected to both but is not one or the other
Bricky isn't quite accurate on a lot of this, but it is a condensed and crude version that serves as an introduction. He does propagate a lot of misconceptions in the lore by accident though. For example the Webway is a series of tunnels through the skin that seperates the Warp from Reality, close enough to the Warp to bend time/reality but close enough to reality to be controllable, and it was created by the Old Ones and the Eldar inherited it.
@@BoringBrandi Exactly this. When i started to look into Warhammer because of Dawn of War: Dark Crusade it was a LOT to take in and it took me years to get a good understanding. Bricky has the crash course that is easy to digest with some humor sprinkled in so you get a basic understanding of the setting, then when a faction or topic interests you more you can watch other channels that go more indepth about it. Easier than watching a 2h "introduction" video in my humble opinion
The whole 40K tabletop game hobby gets prohibitively expensive fast. That said the videogames are also a viable option. Space Marine 2 which came out a few days ago, gives a particularly epic introduction to the universe with the added eye candy of modern graphics. The first one dates back to the Xbox 360 era so its far easier to run and its very cheap on PC. (They are both good action games) As you say in the video its a very interesting universe.
I think the worst and best part about current day 40k is that there is shockingly poor cohesion in terms of "Official" media. It makes delving into official canon an absolute nightmare, and offers no good way to filter or section out particular areas of interest to you. But on the other hand, this has created a massive community knowledge base that side steps the majority of "modern canon" problems seen other IPs that have highly centralized sources of information (see most video games). The community knowledge angle is also the reason the community itself is so open to outsiders, as theres an understanding a new person would not be able to navigate the massive catalog of available (and unavailable) information, without some kind of help. I have way more fun talking about and referencing the setting then I do playing any of the games.
Honestly, buy the models if you like the assemble and paint them. If you play mainline GW games, I pity you. The games systems are just plain BAD. There's so many better options out there that cost less money, require less time to play a game, and don't involve you sitting idly by during your opponents turn for much of the game. I do have a nostalgic affection for old necromunda and mordheim, but for modern rank and flank, Conquest: The Last of Arguments of Kings or Mantic's Kings of War is better. For Sci-fi skirmish, almost everything is better than kill team, and for massive sci-fi battles, there's so many better systems.
One thing not really covered is that while the Emperors physical body is actually dying he has become the most powerful being in the warp. He alone holds all four chaos gods at bay and the worship he receives has empowered him to the point that he actually is becoming the God they imagine him to be. To what extent is unclear but make no mistake, the fact that he can hold off all four chaos gods is just the tiniest sliver of hope for humanity for the grim dark Warhammer universe.
You can't tell me that becoming a god wasn't part of the Emperor's plan. Maybe he did want to originally deprive the Chaos Gods of believers, but when he realized that he couldn't do it, he decided that the only other option was to become the God Emperor who is more powerful than the Chaos Gods.
@@OldWestGunslinger-vs9mx But without his physical body and mind, he can only support the Imperium. If somebody turns off the Golden Throne, the Emperor can easily revive himself but Terra will be destroyed along with this solar system. So the homeworld of the Mechanicus, Mars, is gone too.
He would in itself be a chaos god himself then born just like slaanesh but a chaos god of order or righteousness. Pretty cool set up for the biggest bbeg
The ancestors of the orcs in the Warhammer 40,000 universe were the "krork". The Krork are an ancient warrior race created during the war between the ancient and mysterious race Necrontyr and the Old Ones. The Old Ones, who were very ancient beings with advanced psionic abilities, created the krork through genetic engineering to use them as a fighting force against the Necrcrontyrs and the C'tan gods. The Krork were much more organized and advanced than the later orc race, and probably larger. Over time, however, the Krork civilisation declined and their descendants, the Orcs, emerged as a more primitive, chaotic and aggressive race in the galaxy. The Orcs are the degenerate descendants of the Krork, who have lost all the advanced technology and social structures of the ancient race, but retain the aggression and belligerence. This universe hides a lot of extra info not as simple as it is described .
Krork were bigger and smarter, and Orks have an ingrained imperative to follow the biggest Ork. As Orks fight, they grow. As they grow, they get smarter... Have we basically been fighting Krork children all this time? Like, the Orks aren't a degeneration of the Krork, but just immature? And they just never live long enough to get bast their teen growing pains of starting a Waaagh and making themselves a target for assassination?
@@Scarabswarm It is also possible that if they had been given enough time they could have adapted or Krork could have evolved, but unfortunately there is very little surviving information about them. But one theory is that their society, with their once formidable power and knowledge, has simply degenerated into a dumb society, question why, could be viruses or necrons or just a DNA mutation. But many agree that they would be bigger and stronger than an astronaut, with technology beyond the Empire's total power . Personally, I am very curious to see if any story or artifacts will appear in the future that will allow us to know them better. But yes you may be right and they are fighting with Krork children but who knows what twist there will be.

Hell yeah, man you say you need things to be explained multiple times but you got all the concepts right off the bat good on you it took me 2 years hahaha
12:44 The Eldar instead of sailing the great Ocean built a seafloor tunnel through the ocean. The Webway is a pocket dimension nestled between reality and the warp.
Bricky has really funny content that is a little heavier on the meme side than I prefer. I really like Arbitor Ian for a more factual presentation of the lore. He also does retrospectives about how certain parts of the lore have changed as Warhammer as evolved. Can't recommend him enough. If you every want to learn more about the original space marine legions, he has a great video series where he explores each one.
The webway is like a tunnel in the warp where the dangers of the warp can’t penetrate. The technology was given to the Eldar by the old ones, who used it first. It can also be used as a sort of “teleporter” where you can go in one gate and come out the other one. Like Stargate
Bricky got some of it wrong. Cybernetic Revolt ends and then The Age of Strife started by the Warpstorms which is the Eldars debauchery's side effect. This continues few thousand years, The Emperor starts the Unification Wars on Terra. After Terra's unification Slaanesh is born and that clears the Warpstorms. Clearing of the Warpstorms is the start of the Great Crusade. Bricky really did Malcador dirty by just brushing as "someone else taking control of the Throne". Malcador he was The Emperor's best friend that knew everything about him and acted as Regent in his absence and "Uncle" of the Primarchs. He was the man who had his explicit trust. Pretty sure he was the one who convinced The Emperor to become The Emperor. Malcador was also the 3rd strongest psyker of the Imperium. Magnus was supposed to be the contingency plan so Malcador wouldn't have to control the Throne in The Emperor's absence. The Emperor uses his psychic powers to alter peoples perception of him. For example all the "fan art" you see is the artist's perception of the Emperor, pretty meta. If you read enough Warhammer 40k books you notice how the Emperor talks and behaves as the person he is speaking to him would expect of him. Like their ideal version of him. The Emperor is a plot device and he should, in my opinion, stay mysterious and unknown.
the emperor was (according to warhammer 40k wiki) born in stone age anatolia. he was created by shamans who realised they could no longer 'respawn' (in gamer terms) when they died due to the warp becoming dangerous and demons immediately consuming their soul. so they all had a conference, took poison at the same time to create the emperor as the ultimate human and most powerful psychic power of humanity.
As someone who knows a little bit about the universe this was really funny to watch, I remember having all these same reactions. The dude in the video explains in a really entertaining way for someone new to it
I played Space Marine 2, and have been fascinated by the depth and breadth of lore making up the franchise ever since. I have not played any tabletop games, but I do want to eventually try my hand at the warhammer tabletops, once I have the time and money to invest in the figures, painting, and learning the rules etc. It has quickly become a favorite subject to learn about for me.
I recommend you watch Bricky's videos about the factions of 40k. Let's just conclude that the Orks is the objectively best faction, and leave it at that.
Agree Orks boyz is best boyz, but I really hate all of these summary videos. Brickys isn't offensively bad, but watching these videos is just crap compared to reading any of the solid book entries out there.
@@jw70467 I know what you mean, but don't hate on the video-content. RUclipsrs make readily consumable slop that's easily accessible for new people looking to learn basic lore. It makes the IP grow more than any amount of books or adverts ever could, for better or worse.
The "angels" are space marines. The normal people call them angels because they worship the Emperor as a god, and he created the astartes. Or, space marines. The salamanders are just one of the legions of astartes.
Big Dog, I so enjoyed, watching your reaction, I hadda sub. And he's giving you an accurate synopsis, albeit it's the readers digest version. Basically, he's hitting the highlights. Because there is so much more, your not hearing here. I was introduced to this game, in my early 20's. And much like Cavill, I was instantly hooked. But back then, it wasn't played in a video game. You played on a tabletop, and brought your painted miniatures with you, along with some paper, a pencil with an eraser, and your own dice. (Lots of dice) Oh how the times have changed. And now the cats out of the bag. We can't hide this no more. No hiding is the wrong word. I heard you refer to it, as Gatekeeping. Well, even that's not really right, cause in all honesty, we just didn't talk about it. So it was kinda more really like Fight Club. Most people just totally ignored it, because they thought it just, a bunch of nerds, doing nerdy shit. So it kinda hid in plain sight. But you should definitely take the time, especially now, why it's a hot topic, to soak up as much as you can, of the material that's all over RUclips. Giving you different background, detail information, on the Primarchs, the many different Chapters of Space Marines, and stand out Space Marines, that serve them. I promise you will not be disappointed, that you did. Because the more you learn, the more you want to know about it. So, the gates open, come in sit down, make yourself comfortable, were all just servants of our chosen factions here. Because not everyone sides with the Imperium. But we treat each other with respect, and as equals. Cause we're all here really, for just one thing. To have fun, and just, forget about life's bs, for just a little while..! Oh by the way, I mentioned getting hooked in my 20's. I'm in my late 50's now...
I should have watched this video before purchasing Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader. For most of my playthrough I felt literally like that "Wait! Are we the bad guys?"-meme and it really confused me the whole time 😂
12:47 to expand on Bricky’s metaphor, if the warp is the ocean, then the realm of Chaos is the Red Sea. Most Eldar and sanctioned psykers in the Imperium use Warp Sorcery, which is power from the ocean. However Chaos aligned groups, daemons, Chaos Cultists, Chaos Space Marines will use power from their respective gods (unless you’re chaos undivided). This is called Chaos Sorcery and they will use the Red Sea to perform psychic abilities.

24:34 hey, If you love this breakdown, then your in for a treat once you get into the finer details. There’s an innumerable number of stories and events to draw you in and get you hooked, so wherever you look, there’s something interesting to view.
Yes, we are vague and careful about the lore until we see real interest. We don't want people who only care about the memes without knowing anything about their origin... and we want to keep the 'culture war'/DEI crowd out of it. You could call that gatekeeping, I guess, but it's more a protective reflex at this point, developed over more than 30 years of batteling endless hordes of heretics trying to sell it out or to change it in ways that just don't fit. If someone shows real interest and wants to learn, indeed, welcome and may the Emperor guide you!
Some gatekeeping is necessary. In 40k we have to keep the nazis out as well. While the world of 40k is not a fair one, by theme and design, and so attempts to equalize it with modern sensibilities run smack into significant lore issues and undermine the intended horror of the setting; it's the neonazis who paint their SS imperial guard armies, or who play eldar so they can call their black opponents Mon'keigh over and over who cause _actual_ problems. There are immature edgy people who either seek to cause offense on purpose while using the fandom as a shield to avoid criticism; or who are simply too dense to realize that _everyone_ in 40k is the bad guy, and unironically identify with messages that are meant to be mocking of their position. It's like the people who don't get that Starship Troopers is meant to be a satire, and miss all the digs at their beliefs. Movie: "A murderer was caught this morning and tried today. *Cut to judge: 'Guilty'. Execution tonight at 7, all net, all channels." Oblivious authoritarian viewer: "That's how it should be!" Everyone else: 🤦 "Where do I even begin?" Every fandom wants to preserve what they view as good about their passion, and resist what they feel may harm it. 40k has a very wide appeal, which leads to a lot of interest in it, and a lot of competing interests in what direction it should go. From the outside, that makes things dense and chaotic, where backlash is hard to predict in scale but almost guaranteed to happen in every case to some degree. From the inside it requires you to decide what you actually care about, and tune out the rest.
@@Scarabswarm I don't know what kind of meta you are playing in, but in the eldar example, I'm unaware of a single TO or FLGS who would tolerate that nonsense. Also, there's a really easy solution. You pack up your army and don't play them. Period. It is really easy. The difference between this other group you are trying to gatekeep out are that they are morons who are antisocial in person. The other group don't often participate at all in the hobby, and are mostly keyboard warriors that stupid people follow (and stupid companies bend the knee to)
@@Scarabswarm Exactly, your Starship Troopers comparison nails it. The moment politics and ideology (regardless wether left, right, centrist, religious, whatever) overtake, common sense and human decency dies and the fun gets sucked out of things! Never feed the trolls, especially not IRL!

11:43 when it comes to the webway the best example I've heard likens it to the underwater labs in the movie Deep Blue Sea. The water is the warp, the sharks trying to break in demons. The webway has multiple entrances to "the surface" but you can travel down under the water to another entrance. Add warpy time-shenanigans(if not as extreme as the true warp) and you can almost instantly traverse the galaxy through that lab and exit another entrance almost as soon as you left.
If you've ever seen the Hellraiser movies or media about it, Cenobites are the closet we have in media to a proper devotee and/or Daemon of Slaanesh. Though they are far more chaotic as opposed to Leviathan's dedication to order. Yes, Slaanesh and its minions are even WORSE than cenobites.
whats crazy is that all the stuff that happened with the eldar has occured in real life. The greeks, the romans, and now america. All the once great empires became too great and "carnalized" themselves in swarch of the next thing to do.
Those book recos at the end are flipping *impeccable*. Not a miss in the set. The Infinite and the Divine is the funniest story I've read in years. A couple of immortal Necrons who are awake to "curate and manage Necron culture" while the rest of their people are in hibernation get into a minor disagreement about something that degenerates enough that they basically destroy the entire world they are tasked to protect. Meanwhile, as the reader, you learn a lot about Necron culture and history, because deep down these fools are best friends and they can't help but yap at each other in between horrific violence.
I first took the warhammer dive in 2022, I had no idea what I was going into. 2 years later, I would have never imagined how much the hobby would consume me. I have 4 tabletop armies, all fully painted, Necrons, Astra Militarum, Orks, and Dark angels. I have read over 30 books, collected codexes and core rule books from 3rd, 9th, and 10th editions, and played many of the video games. The whole two years I painted my 4 armies, I listened to lore, Lutin, Adeptus ridiculous, Auspex Tatctics, and so many more. And even now, I could not consider myself an expert in the lore. Im still reading books, and collecting what I can afford to unlock more and more of the universe of 40k, and finding out how much deeper it gets. I absolutely am going to subscribe to your channel, because I want to watch you go through your 40k journey. I look forward to which army you choose to paint first.
@@alexandersteinmetz6857 Im lucky to have a few buddies that also play 40k. So ive been able to play a table top game once or twice a week on average for the last 2 years. Im working on painting a unit of Gaunts Ghosts from the book series. Really look forward to fielding them.
Actually "The Old Ones" were the ones that creted "the webway" and the eldar were given the knowledge of how to use it, but the necrons were also given that knowledge by the C'tan so they can also use part of it called "Dolman Gates". Plus they came up with a continuously accelerating drive called "inirtaless drive" that can go faster than light and keep getting faster by basically whatever factor they want, it's the equivalent of the regular warp or hyperdrive. The Necrons have access to basically countless other dimensions other than the warp but also use it in many ways, they can actually channel or nullify warp energy better than anyone actually, only they do so through sheer technological superiority.
Sorry if it seems like we are gatekeeping man. We kind of have been because we got assholes trying to change the lore for their own agenda rather than for the good of the setting. We've been trying to keep the tourists at bay. People like you though, who seems to really like the story and the setting, we got a nice place at the Emperor's table for ya. Come on in, it looks cold out there.
To simplify n summarize about the warp : It's a place where all chaos, souls & emotional spectrum mixed together. So anything with pysker power could actually link their mind to it, making the warp to feed on this emotions n thoughts.
in my mind the best way way to describe the warp and the webway is thus. think of the warp as an ocean (it is in fact referred to as 'The Great Ocean' by a few characters) you can stay on the surface and everything is normally fine, sure sometimes there's shark attacks but whatever. you start going deeper and the amount of predators increases, deeper still and it starts getting dark, and there are leviathans in the darkness. the webway is a series of undersea tunnels. they are in the warp but also separate and protected from it, as long as they're intact. Magnus' Big Oopsey involved breaking into a webway system the Emperor was building. so imagine if someone tore open the side of an undersea tunnel, but the tunnel entrance was in the Palace basement, the warp (and the creatures in it) now come flooding in through that breach and out the entrance. this is why the Emperor couldn't really participate in the Horus Heresy and afterword is perpetually stuck on the Golden Throne, he is busy being the proverbial little dutch boy with his finger in the dyke. even if he were to miraculously heal, he's still stuck holding back the flood, otherwise the warp would pour out into Terra.

You mean a BLACK LIBRARY?! 😂
To be fair, a lot of those books are barely readable. i like the lore but those books are so boring....
@@DifdaufI bet they are this universe is almost as huge and expanding as star wars
@@Boomy2nicce almost? you misunderstand, there are over 300 novels alone
and they have been made since 1987
Everyone always leaves out the little detail that Eldar used to reincarnate. Like, full stop.
They're so powerfully psychic that - pre-Slaanesh, when the warp was way less chaotic - their souls would eventually reform and be born back into the world. Hence all the crazy murdersex. They literally had no fear of death, because they knew they'd just come back.
That pause screen at 18:06 is wild. I was like bruh! LMAO
bruh i dont think anyone except you and me noticed the giant Slaanesh dick hahahaha
To under stand the difference between the materium, the immaterium, and the web way is to think of it all as a book. Consider the known universe (the materium) as a one page in a book and the warp (the immaterium) as another. The webway is that little sliver of space in between the two pages. It’s connected to both but is not one or the other
Bricky: "The first of the Primarchs to be found was Horus."
Alpharius: "That's what we want you to think."
Hydra Dominatus.
(This is a lie)
WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU ACTUALLY WANT, YOU BYZANTINE WEIRDO?!?
WHAT DO YOU WANT ALREADY, ALPHARIUS?!!
I think it's a decent enough introduction for the new warhammer fan, you don't want to overwhelm someone 😂
@@cherryrook8684Absolutely. Today I enjoy more specific/longer videos even more.
Exactly. But Bricky is a good starting point.
Hydra Domanatus. Alpharius was found first but kept hidden.
you asked for me brother alpharius?
or was he?
I always figured Omegon never left....
But then again....
Hydra Dominatus....
@@OldWestGunslinger-vs9mx I think it is more likely to be the option he didn't want to take, but was the only hope left.
@@NoctisAugustus basically it was his plan B.
Really enjoyed watching this along with ya, makes me feel like me and a buddy are learning the lore together and I love it, thanks for these vids man!
@@Scarabswarm
It is also possible that if they had been given enough time they could have adapted or Krork could have evolved, but unfortunately there is very little surviving information about them.
The eldar empire basically became one big Diddy party. End.
I paint thousand sons, cool to see my boys as the villains in space marine 2.

Hell yeah man! Bricky does great breakdowns of lore and has a great way of story telling. Seeing you'r energy reacting to his energy genuinely brightened up my day! Cant wait to see what army you choose to learn about first!
He said, "BOY! I brought you into this world. I damn sure can take you out."
Hell yeah, man you say you need things to be explained multiple times but you got all the concepts right off the bat good on you it took me 2 years hahaha
Serious kudos, he picked up some of the more difficult concepts very quickly.
Be welcome brother. I love this universe to the death. Right now I'm doing my adventures playing Rogue Trader on PC. What a game, its perfection.
Dude, your energy is awesome! I just got into Warhammer too! Got yourself a sub!
Bro there is sooooooo much to this world I started on this journey 2 years ago and still do not have it all down yet
12:44 The Eldar instead of sailing the great Ocean built a seafloor tunnel through the ocean.
The Webway is a pocket dimension nestled between reality and the warp.
Bricky is really good at story telling and dumbing down the lore so people can follow it easily.
Bricky, major kill, and krakduck are all good warhammer ytbs bro
Always love to see someone watching a Bricky video, dude makes some good content.
Hell yea brother. Hope you’re enjoying Warhammer 40k. We look forward to more of your reactions.
I just find it cute he keeps calling it world it's like my bro this takes place in it own whole universe I'm loving your reaction to Warhammer 40K
40K has a better background than star wars and star trek combined. JUST MAKE THE DAMN MOVIE!
The webway is like a tunnel in the warp where the dangers of the warp can’t penetrate. The technology was given to the Eldar by the old ones, who used it first.
It can also be used as a sort of “teleporter” where you can go in one gate and come out the other one. Like Stargate
This sounds like a sensory overload…….
Slaanesh:
“Hold my beer”
*spiked beer*
@@KingHenryIXyeah ... I wouldn't steal a sip. Potent enough to put down Keith Richards and Jack Nicholson.
The Emperor is a plot device and he should, in my opinion, stay mysterious and unknown.
based on Bricky's last review on Space Marine i started to question everything he says. He seems to get things wrong
@@beastmasterbg he's more casual with it. Some minor things he gets wrong.
Bricky gets quite a lot wrong (at least in detail), but he does give a close enough explanation for people just entering the universe to get the idea.
the emperor was (according to warhammer 40k wiki) born in stone age anatolia. he was created by shamans who realised they could no longer 'respawn' (in gamer terms) when they died due to the warp becoming dangerous and demons immediately consuming their soul. so they all had a conference, took poison at the same time to create the emperor as the ultimate human and most powerful psychic power of humanity.
As someone who knows a little bit about the universe this was really funny to watch, I remember having all these same reactions. The dude in the video explains in a really entertaining way for someone new to it
Shit dude Im about to watch all your vids for this! love seeing you enjoy and get sucked into the 40k madness!!!!
18:31 and you get the crux of world history
I played Space Marine 2, and have been fascinated by the depth and breadth of lore making up the franchise ever since. I have not played any tabletop games, but I do want to eventually try my hand at the warhammer tabletops, once I have the time and money to invest in the figures, painting, and learning the rules etc. It has quickly become a favorite subject to learn about for me.
Somebody needs to point homeboy over to Professor Tex for some giant robot love.

So The Emperor is kinda like Conan the Barbarian, ....but different. Got it.
The "angels" are space marines. The normal people call them angels because they worship the Emperor as a god, and he created the astartes. Or, space marines.
The salamanders are just one of the legions of astartes.
you been sleeping on it. there's no gate
First video i watched in full after almost a year on RUclips. Suffice is to say this video held my attention.

I love how interested you can tell you are, as am I being new to 40k
And he barely touched the orks
I really like that you pause and rewatch, it shows that you're actually interested in the content. Cheers.
16:28 “This sounds like a sensory overload” Yes, and it’s exactly what birthed a new chaos god into existence
I love your videos man. Is helping me to understand this universe too.
I should have watched this video before purchasing Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader. For most of my playthrough I felt literally like that "Wait! Are we the bad guys?"-meme and it really confused me the whole time 😂
Brother Echelon, welcome to 40k... Watching your reaction was great fun, cheers my friend.
Welcome to 40K; come for the game, stay for the lore.
I never watched Brickys intro to 40k but I have to admit that was a very good and efficient summary in a relatively short time.
This is called Chaos Sorcery and they will use the Red Sea to perform psychic abilities.
fun watching you get into it man, im about 4 years in. the tabletop game is a big commitment and so is reading the books, but i really suggest reading some books if you like the setting. it is worth it. i love horus rising and the whole horus heresy series myself. every book he suggested is good and a good start
If I had a genie lamp, I’d wish for a sister of battle that I can show a simple calm life too, I can fix them all 😭

“God of combat?!”
Sssht…. Wait till he hears about the god of war…
Execution tonight at 7, all net, all channels."
Oblivious authoritarian viewer: "That's how it should be!"
Everyone else: 🤦 "Where do I even begin?"
Every fandom wants to preserve what they view as good about their passion, and resist what they feel may harm it.

Youre crushing this dude! I first saw you on Astartes. Love the vibes. Please open up and be more vocal and specific about things, we are here for it 😀
11:43 when it comes to the webway the best example I've heard likens it to the underwater labs in the movie Deep Blue Sea.
Yes, Slaanesh and its minions are even WORSE than cenobites.
welcome to 40k. hope you get into the table top. ( we gate keep for a reason btw)
whats crazy is that all the stuff that happened with the eldar has occured in real life. The greeks, the romans, and now america. All the once great empires became too great and "carnalized" themselves in swarch of the next thing to do.
The infinite and the divine is genuinely my all time favorite book. Assassinorum kingmaker is also up there
Those book recos at the end are flipping *impeccable*.
Meanwhile, as the reader, you learn a lot about Necron culture and history, because deep down these fools are best friends and they can't help but yap at each other in between horrific violence.
welcome to warhammer bro, plenty of stuff to learn about and enjoy.
I look forward to which army you choose to paint first.
out of curiosity, how many TT Battles did you participate in?
@@alexandersteinmetz6857 Im lucky to have a few buddies that also play 40k. So ive been able to play a table top game once or twice a week on average for the last 2 years. It really played into how addicting the hobby became for me. In between games, I would work diligently to get my models built and painted, so I could show them off the homies, and also see their new finished models, is very satisfying.
"I feel like we gotta fight"
Get some minis bro, come join the fight
in my mind the best way way to describe the warp and the webway is thus.
think of the warp as an ocean (it is in fact referred to as 'The Great Ocean' by a few characters) you can stay on the surface and everything is normally fine, sure sometimes there's shark attacks but whatever. you start going deeper and the amount of predators increases, deeper still and it starts getting dark, and there are leviathans in the darkness.
the webway is a series of undersea tunnels. they are in the warp but also separate and protected from it, as long as they're intact.
I lmao at Nurgle, god of Genshin Impact. All Gacha is cancer so this is accurate.
