Very nice tutorial for ID map. Instead of adjusting cage distance, it will be better not to attach all geometry into one and rename them with high poly and low poly suffixes, like wheel_low and wheel_high, and while baking select Match - By mesh name. This will bake each mesh separately with their high and low and will ignore nearby meshes.
a lot of thanks for this tutorial, so helpful in my journey to create props, really good :)
WP my man !! Thanks, you helped me a lot !! ;)
Sweet tutorial bro, I would love to see how you got a decent bake from the AO and Normals despite them being outside of the 0,1. :)
I can barely hear you.
Sorry about that, have you tried on a different device? As far as I know nobody else is having problems
@@danmccabe9889 Yep 2 computers later with 2 different sets of speakers. In after effects or whatever video editor you use their is a sound levels menu. Open it and you will see you videos sound is in the very low green. Proper sound levels should have reach mid yellow or 8 out of 12, your sound runs at a 4 at its highest point. The same thing happened to me because I use a headset with amazing sound quality that boost the output level. You will have to lower your head phone in level and up your mic level until they reach middle green normally. You can test your mic if you open your sound levels menu by right clicking your speaker icon in windows. Then go to mic levels, then just adjust the slider until it reaches past the mid point in normal speech.
@@syntheticelementvids sorry about all that mate, I appreciate the effort you took to try and enjoy the content. I hope you eventually learnt something. I'll make sure it's all good next time round
@@danmccabe9889 Same cant hear you really
@@moonfallmedia151 sorry :( any questions or did you manage to get your ears tuned in enough to find out what you need? I'm definitely gonna sort it out for future videos :)
thanks, your video really helps, just I cannt hear my mom say dinner is ready anymore after switched to another video with my headset
And after? How do you set in 3dmax?
Good Tutorial, but audio lets it down. Do you know how annoying and shocking it is to turn up your volume so you can hear, then when finished the next content is LOUD in comparison?
Yes I do know how annoying it is, as I have said in other comments I apologize for that. Glad you still found it helpful
after giving the vertex colour in 3dsmax,but in substance painter colour id not showing it showing a single colour
Make sure you set the very colours on your high poly model, and you have baked the ID map from the substance baker
Does ID maps always work with FPX but not OBJ?
I believe both FBX and OBJ support vert colors so they should both work fine :)
Can't hear a word on maximum volume settings. WTF?!
Sorry man, I realise I am a bit quiet but is does seem most people can hear it. Any questions let me know
i dont get the id color window in my editable poly/edit poly menus...
make sure you have faces selected, and that the heading hasn't been collapsed down :)
@@danmccabe9889 Bit late to the party but for future people, the Polygon: Vertex Colours box is only available when it is the editable poly on it's own/at the base of the stack, stacked edit poly does not seem to have this dialog. Collapse your mesh to Editable poly seems to be the way but I would advise just using the Vertex Paint modifier instead to not lose your stack data until you are definitely done modelling.
@@joepeatfield9420 oh nice I never realised this, guess my workflow never put me in a position to notice
